“Dead” to me is when certain regions has no or barely any players left on it
As a Australian games go “dead” in 1 week or 2 week and steam player counts are mostly American

I never thought it was dead. I’ve been waiting for this game to get dlc for a while. Now it’s here.
Me and the boys will still be having a blast in DnF while the crybabies shout "dead game" cause it doesnt have a fortnite battle pass.
As someone who played the Dungeon Fighter MMO game, i really think DnF Duel while not dead, should have a healthy road map and connection towards the game devs. In the recent new Spectre trailer that recently came out revealed that while not a detailed road map, there are going to be more fighters added into the game in future updates!~

Bruh, there's nothing "subjective" about whether or not a game is dead or alive. One look at Steam charts before the latest update and you could see DNF was getting less action than GranBlue. Ain't no reason a game this young is pulling in Arcana Heart numbers. It was dead. The question is now that the update is out and season pass has been announced, can the game recover?
I happen to like the game even more then Type Lumina so I do want to see a resurgence. In my opinion, I think the lack of IP power and misconceptions about the game as a whole helped bring its downfall. It's like no REALLY gave this game a chance even if they still played it on launched. It was just a stupid junk food game to a lot of people; a kusoge fighter.
Despite people like SonicSol and MaxillianDood really pushing the game, it just didn't click with people probably for similar reasons Type Lumina fell off. I'm not saying DNF Duel doesn't have any flaws, but I'd say it's generally better put together mechanics wise then Type Lumina. The biggest problem is really character balance which is why they focused on buffing every character in this patch.
If I can say anything about what I think of DNF Duel's future, it's that version 1.0 of this game is likely gonna go down in history as one of the worst base versions of any fighting game since DBFZ. I still think updates have a chance of really turning the game around, but we'll have to wait and see.

I wish we could go back to letting developers take time for big expansions rather than being so horny for constant weekly drip-fed DLC characters
I installed the game on my Steam Deck, runs great. I'd very much like to play DNF more often

Game is still dead. Alot of people have unistalled or sold the game. I dont see them coming back.
I come at this game from an outsiders persepective. I had interest in it when it was coming out. I liked how it looked. I liked the characters. But I was nervous about it coming out just as it was and knowing it had some wild balance issues. Typically games like this come out with dlc/season passes right there on the horizon. I had no idea if this game was gonna have any dev support or anything. And of course I kept checking in to look for patch or dlc character news and it wasn’t coming. Even now only 1 new character coming who knows when. I’m kinda glad I saved my $70 cause for all the promise it had it just doesn’t seem like it has the backing to be a good investment. I don’t need a huge roster but come on, how about at least 12 cool unique characters. Some things in the big patch sound interesting but are coming late and some could have been integrated last patch. Like the additional health for all

unfortunately DNF has deep flaws that the announcement did not adress. that's what killed it and what will inevitably kill it again soon after the patch.
also I think when 7 yeard old fighters have multiple times it's playerbase it's safe to say the game is dead :/ centralfiction still holding on tho.
By that logic any game thats not street fighter tekken or MK is dead. People seem to forget fighting games are still noche and they all cant be instant hits.

I just picked it up , its awesome .. I'm mostly a street fighter 5 and mk11 player but i can see myself sticking with this .. 👍
The problem is, the path is probably going to mix up the tier list and piss off the top players. "I can't corner rape with Striker and Berserker any more" Ther patch is going to hurt a lot of people's feelings.
I'd say fuck those people, they should learn how to play the game and not rely on strong characters entirely.
