The "boat" story... True. I live in the Keys When i was a kid we were riding our bikes at Plantation Yach Harbor, a nice marina. We all were beginner musicians. We heard really good music coming out of one of the Yachts. We parked our bikes and sat on the pick nick table that was directly on shore at the stern of the Yacht. When the music stopped, a bunch of guys came on shore and asked us " how did it sound". We said GREAT... We all Chit chatted for a while and then we rode our bikes off. WE HAD NO CLUE at the time. True story...

Always wanted a visual of that story, Apple Maps just helped me with that. I think the picnic tables are still there! I’m from miami, live right outside coconut grove where Bayshore was. But seriously folks is one of the best albums of all time. And some great engineers came out of bayshore too. Heard the stories between criteria and bayshore coming up as an engineer in miami. Thanks for the interview w bill. Really enjoyed this. Looking forward to checking out the console plugin ;-)

Tbf, tape most definitely would’ve done a fair share of drum compression, also. I know he said that he liked to record clean, but he still would’ve been hitting drums fairly hard due to the noise floor. Recording digitally makes us “have to” compress drums these days, since we’re not squaring off the transients.
What a great interview! Thanks for this!

barnstorm is amazing. i always dug joe walsh's playing but thats all next level jams on that record. it sounds like they were having the time of their lives making that.
