Brilliant video! The first 40 seconds are spot on and I probably needed to hear them when at times I was not happy with FL Studio. Many years later, I finally decided to change my DAW, which I never thought I would, and I moved to Logic Pro last year. While I miss FL Studio's Piano Roll (still the best in any DAWs in my humble opinion) and simple left-click add and right-click delete mouse functionality, for most part in general Logic Pro is just better for me.
Reaper is my forever DAW. I'm the kind of guy who would rather spend time writing a script than live with a clunky workflow. I feel that optimizers are the ultimate demographic for Reaper.
Reaper can look like many other daws with presets, also is the least limited/constrained imo; you can do tons of keybindings and changes/settings--if you're an optimiser it's probably the go. Great vid.
After trying other workflows, REAPER is where I landed, because: audio and MIDI both handled well, no bloatware, the price is wonderful, and plugins scan and work with the least amount of crashing, and doesn't need a day and a half to scan my folders before actually starting a session ;)
I am astonished at how few views you’re getting with the production quality here. In any case, I just started using Logic Pro for iPad and I found that to be the best mobile DAW hands down. It definitely fits into the pocket of “best for singer songwriters.”
I've come across a few commentators mentioning Reaper's price and that it's "good to start with", which gives the impression that it's more of an amateur choice or inferior quality. I switched from Pro Tools to Reaper in my main studio and the difference in work flow is night and day, for the better. So much faster, more stable, efficient, more customizable and more features. It's an absolutely top tier choice IMO with no compromises on audio quality.
It's minimal investment, so if you don't love it no big deal, low risk situation. But for those that do love it there's not really a need to look elsewhere unless you are collaborating with others in different DAWS. Even the look of it (GUI) you can customize if you really want to. I find the windows 98 style GUI a bit of a vibe killer.
Many stay with it, and if there’s no reason to leave, stay. I think it’s good to be flexible though, as an engineer I want to be able to use any daw in any studio without too much confusion setting in.

WTF is this stupid concept of Reaper UI looking bad? Have you seen that MS Excel spreadsheet disgrace of a daw called Ableton? Seriously - money for nothing... Anyway, Reaper can look as gorgeous or minimalist as you want after you spend half an hour customizing it with on of hundreds of themes it supports - including logic cubase pro-tools and other usual suspects. I am not even saying that ANYTHING can be customized to exactly how you need it for any type of genre or mixing or sound design you need. For a small price you can also get a clip launcher add-on arguably surpassing ableton's in many ways.
Harsh words! I don’t much enjoy Ableton UI either, and it’s nice you can customize Reaper, but the stock UI feels like windows 98 🤷♂️. Thanks for watching!
