They both come down from real Italian grandmas, so why not? Plus, the tomato was brought to Italy from America. So... tiebreaker... we win.

Gaynor here's the receipe - (all you have to do is pick the pasta you want or any meat you want to add!)
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
    1 large shallot minced
    2 garlic cloves minced
    ⅔ cup tomato paste
    3 tbsp vodka
    1 cup heavy cream
    2 tbsp unsalted butter
    ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan
    salt and pepper to taste
Place a large skillet over medium heat. Once skillet is hot add oil and sauté shallots and garlic for 3 to 4 minutes, or until aromatics begin to slightly caramelize.
Add tomato paste and stir together. Continue to stir until paste turns bright red,2 to 3 minutes.
Deglaze skillet with vodka and stir together until vodka evaporates. Add reserved pasta water to skillet and stir together until smooth, about 1 minute. Season with salt and pepper.
Stir cream into sauce until mixture is smooth. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer together, about 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in butter and Parmesan and continue to simmer until sauce is smooth, glossy and has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 3 minutes.
Add cooked pasta to sauce and toss together until fully coated. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve with more grated Parmesan and black pepper.

The fat is where the flavor is. No wonder the British pallet is so bland.

@@jermainehassanthats such a huge misconception. Fat really isnt very bad for you... Also natural fat is increadibly easy to work off. For example, bacon is always said to be very bad for you, but its not at all.... only way its bad is if you overindulge and sit around all day doing nothing.

It’s quite literally the same food. NYC (particularly Ellis Island) was the Gate To America. People from China, Ireland, Italy, Germany, etc.. All arrived through Ellis Island. More than 12 million immigrants from 1892-1954 arrived through Ellis Island, all in the hopes of finding their slice of the American dream pie. (Back when the “American dream” was actually attainable).

Binging with Babish is a food youtuber, and he’s well known for like recreating foods from tv shows and the like but in real life. As well as just other fun food challenges, he also sometimes just does regular old cooking too. Good channel.

Gaynor didn't understand that, in most restaurants in Italy, you order vegetable side dishes separately. It is the same in most traditional Italian restaurants in New York. If it is a high-end New York Italian restaurant, the vegetable dish is listed separately on the menu. On an Italian menu, a side dish will be listed as "contorno" or "contorni di vedure." I'm certain it was listed on the menu she had , but she didn't know.

I know, there are countries where food is enjoyed by using their hands in this case, with the appetizer i suppose that is what it is. Mexican restaurants here in the states in some cases you do have to eat with your hands depending on what you order; there are places in the world where forks, spoons, and knives are completely non-existent.

Yeah, that's a weird phobia I never understood. I have been inside enough kitchens to guarantee you that every ingredient on that first place was placed on there by hand in the kitchen, and without gloves. They just wash their hands often.
