Top job Ashley ,cant understand why anyone would'nt have thier patio sealed after spending so much in the first place.
kev masser I think it is so worth doing! This stone is so hard to get clean once it has become dirty as well. I just did one last week, the worst I’ve ever done. It will be a video eventually.😃👍🏼

Thanks. I have used Resiblock Oil Remover with good results. You should be aware though that it is very difficult to remove a stain completely. There is a possibility that a faint shadow could be left behind. But every situation is different.👍🏼
Can u jet wash it in the future if it goes green with weather??
Yes, light pressure washing is a good idea to keep it well maintained.
Is there a sealent that doesn't change the appearance?? I by far prefer the look before its sealed but want the protection.
Sure! There is an invisible version of this sealant for Indian Sandstone that doesn’t change the colour at all.😃👍🏼
Did you have to wipe up any excess sealer that the stone did not absorb? If so, can you go back and walk where you applied the sealer to wipe it up? How does that work, and what shoes can you wear? Thank you!
I’ve now got loops and lines on light grey Indian sandstone( pressure washer nozzle to close I think) would this wet look product disguise these or would you suggest another cure? Thanks

been laid?
2) How many coats required?
3) Do I need to wash the patio couple times before sealing it?
It seemed the colour of the stones when pack was opened was very pale, after being laid and washed once and dried, colours are much better. We went for Mint Indian sandstone.

Shona Patel The patio needs to be allowed to settle for 6-8 weeks before it is sealed. 2 coats is normally recommended. You want to make sure it’s as clean as can be before it’s sealed so you might want to clean it a day or two prior to application of the sealant. Every patio is slightly different, but the Colour Enhancer is great for making the colour stand out. As a guide, you might say that the colour will be similar to when the patio is wet.😃👍🏼

You can do the second coat a few hours after the first, but check the instructions on the packaging.😃👍🏼

Will this sealer stop algae and mildew from forming on the sandstone and for how long?

You may still get it forming on the surface in very damp areas, but it will be much much easier to clean off. The protection should last around 3years.😃👍🏼
Cheers for the info, we just had our garden done part patio with grey Indian sandstone and artificial grass, so we will hold off on sealing it yet but there's loads of different Resiblock which one would you recommend please and thanks for all the info 👍
Great video mate, quick question, after you pressure washed the patio did you leave it a week or so to thoroughly dry? I only ask as ive got a new patio (well new last year) and ive just pressure washed it so wondering how oong to leave it before i apply the Resiblock colour enhacer sealer? Also should i wait untio we actually get a summer for it to dry properly or does in not matter too much? Cheers 🍻

Yeah, you might want to leave it for a good couple of days to dry out. The best thing to do would be to give Resiblock a call and get their official advice, they have a great help line.👍🏼
@aemackintosh cheers for the advice buddy, il give them a call. I read there online instructions but I need to call them and ask about the easy joint pointing I've done and whether it's OK to use the sealer over that or just do the slabs. I've seen a few ppl on Amazon moaning that the sealer has wrecked their patios but I'm guessing it's down to them not following the instructions and guidelines. Hi all, don't ruin your patio with this snake oil. I bought 2 tins and applied 18 months ago in the right conditions and as per instructions.
When you first apply the sealant, you feel like you've died and gone to heaven as the finish is excellent. The colour pops and the grain in the stone comes alive. Beautiful.
THEN, 6 months later and the first frost drops. You start to notice small patches of bare stone. Then more. Then more.
As the brighter weather dawns upon you, you start to see mirky patches appear and it looks like your stones are dirty. Then you see swirly stains where the sealant has adhered to to the stone and it looks horrific.
All in all, this has ruined our beautiful stone and I'm currently researching sealant removers.
I'm honestly, genuinely gutted to be writing this but, after speaking with other people, it seems that once the sealant is applied, the reviewer leaves glowing reports of how magical this stuff is only to be hit with the realisation that it's a short term high and a very long and expensive low. I was once one of those rave reviewers.
I'm not saying all sealers are bad, but Resiblock is a horror waiting to happen.

im looking to seal a cobble boarder of a porcelain patio i have just done. the mortar grout has gone a bit white, but when wet it looks its normal grey self. If i were to seal it with this wet look sealant, would the grout stay nice and grey like it does when its actually wet? cheers mate, top video

It should say on the label, but I think the second coat should be done a couple of hours after the first.👍🏼
Have you ever found that the surface cleaner takes the mortar out of the edges at time’s ? Any tips on how to avoid or say too customer before starting etc ?
Yeah, just let the customer know . If it’s loose it should be re pointed anyway really.😃👍🏼
Hi...would you say it's a wet look sealer?
Not really. It does enhance the colour in a similar way like when it is wet. It can perhaps have a slight sheen to it when it is first done, but I definitely would say it’s not high gloss. I hope that helps.

@@dannyminor4647 Hi Danny, we are in the same boat. We spent around 7/8k on a new patio. Grey limestone (Indian sandstone colour enhancer would work the exact same we were told by Resi Block) . We also thought it would be a great idea to seal the patio with the colour enhancer. We left no stone unturned when it came to applying and following instructions. We are having the same issue as you described. It started to get dirty as time goes on etc. We decided it was time for a jet wash (bog standard karcher) this started to peal the seal. As it stands we are left with a patchy awful looking patio. I am in the process of writing a long email with pictures to Resi Block to see what they can do to rectify the problem. Looks great and first then just gets awful.

We’ve had our patio sealed when our landscapers finished it but the seal has been put on wrong - it froze over night and it rained making the seal patchy and discoloured. Is there any recommended stripper to remove this seal so we can resell like in your video?

Can’t remember now. 4/5 I think, but every situation is different. Different stone can soak up a different amount of sealant, so it can always vary slightly.
hi. my Indian sandstone is 2 yrs old now! couldn't get any sealant during lockdown! I've got a couple of stains but nothing serious! do you have to buy a cleaner to remove geofix?

i'm told Indian sandstone is quite brittle so would I reduce the pressure when washing or just pressure wash as normal?
It’s not that brittle. A pressure washer won’t damage it.

All ways spray on you area covers more equal 👍with using a roller got keep going over some roller marks 🤔
Resiblock recommend it being applied using a roller to achieve a thorough coverage.👍🏼

Hi I have already applied a wet look sealer for my Indian slabs that I bought from B&Q which has made no difference, can I apply this resiblock sealer over it ?
I don’t think it’s a great idea. But it’s best to ring the Resiblock help line, they will be able to advise you on the best thing to do.😃👍🏼
Hi, I'm just wondering how long it will keep that wet look for? I used Thompson's one coat patio and block paving seal to seal my Indian sandstone. The first few days it looked brilliant but now it's faded and looks back to it's chalky, lack of colour self
I’m not totally sure, although I have had customers come back to me year after year for a quick clean up and re-application to restore the colour. So perhaps it’s understandable that an area in full sun is likely to fade across the summer. But Resiblock is considered the no1.😃👍🏼

Liam Dilks Sodium Hypochlorite gets rid of the black spots usually. But Indian Sandstone is a very dense material, and the more dense the surface is the harder it can be to get clean. That’s why I think it’s a great approach to protect it with a sealant.😃👍🏼

Hi I've used the sealer you mentioned but now my flags are all flaking after the bit of frost we had is this because the flags can't breathe because the sealant has sealed everywhere 😡😡

Yes perfectly dry I've been told since not to use this product on Indian stone as it does not let the flag breathe therefore this is why the sealant starts flaking have jet washed it all off since and re sealed with adseal it's fine now 😀
@stimmo77 didn't do the job for me I'm afraid all the flags flaked
@stimmo77 the product I ended up getting us called adseal a crowd in Bolton make it I had no problems with this I applied with a roller and got good square meterage out of it

Hi, how tins of 5 Litres of the sealant do I need to cover up to 89 square metres please?
He mentioned the sealer covers around 5 square metres per litre so that would be four 5 litre tins for your job!

I think this may have only been about 15litres if I remember rightly. It’s worth getting plenty to make sure you have enough to complete the job. It goes a long way. I think it’s well worth sealing a patio like this to protect it. It can be hard to get clean if it’s left to get really bad.😬👍🏼
Hi, How do you clean old sealer off indian stone, this year when we did it there are white patches here and there, we cleaned it off before coating, never had this before.
It’s not easy. You will need a heavy duty paint stripper gel. If you get in touch with Resiblock directly they should be able to advise you further. They have a very good help line.😃👍🏼
