    One of the best and unbiased reviews on the Concept Z. Good job mate. Will look into your site and may look to place a purchase 👍

    i still love mine and it out cast everyone around me, noise appeared after years of use, sending to rapal to have it serviced and replace anyparts needed. People having casting issues dont know what they are doing most of the time. Most think you set it once and youre done, go from popping cork to bottom rig or a jig head and start backlashing saying its the reels fault when you never reset it for the type of bait youre slinging. The noise came after years of use and having it submerged in salt water wade fishing. Gen 2 comes tomorrow, 8ft casting rod braided 20lb line and a 3/8 jig head. Hoping to reach out farther than i was able to with gen1

    That concept is old Ryobi used those bushings thirty plus years ago and it's best to give them a drop of ardent bearing butter then they are really quiet and smooth

    I have 2 of them. One was almost silent out of the box, the other one made a screeching noise everytime I touched the handle to the point that it was quite literally unuseable. Took it completely apart, and what do ya know, it was the czb bushings making all that noise. EVERY ONE OF THEM. After copious amounts of grease and oil, BAM! Suddenly the reel was silent. Apparently 13 is saying the CBZs dont need oil or grease like regular bearings, and that might be why there are so many returns from people saying it makes wayyyy too much noise. I wouldve been one of them.

    I love my concept z. I use it mostly for crankbaits and it will very easily launch them a long ways. If its unspooled it does make a little noise but when put in fishing conditions you can't ask for better.

    I use a left hand Z for punching, 7.3:1 and 22# drag, perfect

    The reel has bushings (not bearings). Bushings are not the same thing as ball bearings. Ball bearings typically have a LOT longer lifespan. Also, bushings typically provide more resistance, not less.

      Adrian Parker Adrian Parker you are making a comment opinion based on a bushing you have use or the 13fishing ones?
      I will suggest all comments are make based on experience and fact. Because that's how our reviews are being position

      Polymer bushings are 60 years old. They certainly were not invented by 13 (and it's highly unlikely they are even manufacturing their own bushings). The behavior of bushings vs bearings has been well observed, and documented by engineers in a multitude of fields. My post was based on well understood fact.

    • @REDTACKLEtv
      @REDTACKLEtv  6 років тому

      Adrian Parker so bearing make 30 year ago is the same as bearing make now? Technology don't advance.? Or maybe have you cast the Z? Have you spoilt any concept z "bushing"?

    • @REDTACKLEtv
      @REDTACKLEtv  6 років тому

      Also bearing requires servicing and maintenance to have a longer life span. But based on no service and maintenance??

    • @AdrianLParker
      @AdrianLParker 6 років тому +2

      It's not a ball bearing, it's a bushing. You know the difference right? A bushing is just a plastic or polymer sleeve. Any shaft passing through the bushing makes contact with it, and creates friction with this sleeve. This is why bushings, all bushings, wear. I've a LOT of experience with bushings and ball bearings in high performance applications. Don't take my word for it, Google it.

    Do you suggest the concept z or the inception sport z?

    • @REDTACKLEtv
      @REDTACKLEtv  4 роки тому +1

      Concept z is full czb bearings. Sport z is cheaper but it's not fully czb bearings. I think this is the crucial differences. redtackle.com/collections/default-category-reels-13-fishing-reels-usa

    I wanna try one out for saltwater kayak fishing but the origin TX is only $100 and also rated for saltwater.

      Anotherflores91 I have both and love both. Can’t go wrong with either, so if the Origin TX fits in your budget better go for it. You will be pleased.

    What do you grease or oil the concept z

    Did you say it does not free spool as well at low speed? If I want do do a long float drift in a river for steelhead it needs to totally free spool. When you say quite that means you are getting less feedback from a free spool drift. If I have feedback it is constantly telling me how fast the drift is through feel. Without it you would need to always have a visual on the float.

    • @REDTACKLEtv
      @REDTACKLEtv  5 років тому

      Free spool mean like really FREE. Drifting is not a problem at all. To make it simpler, its easiler to control.

    It doesn’t have the quality that a $200 should have .... cast great , but is a bit sloppy in other ways

    Curious how does this reel perform on heavy action that 7+ ? Seen videos with med h action

    • @tylerwalsh6732
      @tylerwalsh6732 5 років тому

      Heavy rated rod has nothing to do with how a reel preforms. It has 22lb of drag, so you're not throwing anything on a 7'3'' or a 7'6'' rod that is going to weigh enough to even be an issue for this reel. Side note, Action would be the bend in the rod blank, i.e fast/xfast/moderate

    I have bought it.. used it a couple times and sold it. Wasn't satified.

  • @John_D2

    the bottom line is , the tolerances are sloppy on that reel. curado k is selling for less than $140 on ebay...much better deal and reel.

    • @REDTACKLEtv
      @REDTACKLEtv  6 років тому +1

      If tolerances is your priority then this reel is not for you. Comparing it with a curado is like using a workhouse (Z) to compare with a very fine but not that strong reel. If your target is just bass then yea maybe your curado is enough for you. After all you can't be taking a 22lb drag to compare with a 10-11lb drag and a 100mm handle to a 85mm handle? And nevertheless the CZB technology is enough to blow it. But its may not be what everyone is looking for. Some may like a reel enough for bass, some may want something that can challenge the saltwater or something even bigger.

      dude , i catch saltwater fish with my curados every single week..no problems...that orange reel is junk , its been proven time and time again , over the last 12 months. i'll just leave it at that /.

    • @REDTACKLEtv
      @REDTACKLEtv  6 років тому +3

      There no use arguing.. But your saltwater fish maybe a bit different from what we are catching here anyway. But again msg us again after your curado survive 6 month in saltwater without any replacement of bearings....

      REDTACKLE i fish inshore and sold my two curado e7’s. Kept having to replace bearings even takin care of it after i fished with it. Bought two concept c’s and have been amazing.
