Great mod. The hunting community has ordinary folks with an abundance of ingenuity and common sense. Your audio and video are both well done. Proud of you brother

Why? Why go thru all that when the bag is just simpler, quieter and more convenient. Use the rubber twist tie to put the platform on the back of your saddle.

Pretty cool but it's pretty much the same as using the bag. Other than the weight of the back not sure what you advantage is.

Yes sir. No real advantage on carrying the steps at all. For me the bag is a bit loud and just one extra piece of somewhat bulky material you have to carry compared to just carrying a small length of rope. Additionally you can’t carry the perch in the bag. This way allows you to go up the tree with the steps AND the perch all in the order you’ll use them. Thanks for the comment and good luck this season. Rut should be kicking off everywhere about now!

Thank you for the video. It's a Great Idea, however...
Latest platform is wider and DOES NOT slide through step's opening. A little bit, but does not. I was able hook 3 steps at most when side load them. :-(( unfortunately will not be able to use such clever approach...

You kept saying how quiet they are but you had metal clanks 3 times before you even left the ground at 5:21, 5:43, 6:37.

Yes sir I did make noise. I was hurrying for video sake. I do not move near that fast while hunting. You just have to be cautious while in the woods. The most import part of being quiet I was referring to was while walking in to your hunting location, the rubber coated wire keeps everything tight not clanking around. Just a setup I like. Thanks for watching.

Very nice, but what about the predator platform? It's like half the weight. Would it work for this set up?also, I only have 5 step ladders, but I have the aider rope, can I get 20'?

The perch I bet weighs less than 1.5 pounds. I know there’s videos out there of people weighing them. If you use a single aider and 5 steps you should be able to get 18 feet. The perch is way less expensive than the predator platform. I’ve never stood on the predator platform but I can give the perch two thumbs up on stability and comfort.

I thought the predator is twice as heavy as the perch.
