I used it and had _almost_ no problem to go up (like you had on the way up), however what I DO not like is the way down. In the Low light when you fishing on that step while have real boots on. I survived with my light boots but flash light and foot massage on the step drove me crazy. Yes it is lighter and cute looking method, but amount of sweat/smell/cursing(silently :-) - that what was pushing me away. I still do it time to time - trying to make myself to like it, but not yet on descend. Great video though. Good job! Thanks.

I like using double fisherman’s knots on any friction hitches that connect to my carabiners. It looks like you might have tied figure 8’s on the end of your lime green prussic on your teather. The benefit of using the fisherman’s knots is that it’s a cinching knot and will always stay in the same spot and keep the carabiner oriented properly to prevent any potential side loading. Cool video and aider.

Good video I’m about 6 foot tall I use 2 wild steps with fixed aiders on them and the wild edge battlement with a webbing aider I made for it and can get 18 feet pretty easily with just those 3 things if I really stretched out I could probably get 20-22 feet but honestly I’m plenty comfortable at 15-18 feet so I like my set up it works perfect for me

Doesn't that aider weigh just as much as taking an extra step and/or take just as much time as taking another step or two with you???

I use knaider and swaider with 4 steps and a 5th for the platform and get 22 feet. I am also 6'2". I don't like the kick out of the 5 step.

I have a k/s but just can't get comfortable with it. I'm about to put a vid together of some three step amsteel aiders that I just built. I've used them every hunt this year and really like em.

In the process of making my 5 step aider. I'm using 1 inch tubular webbing and for the stirrups I went and bought some vinyl rubber tubing

I agree. I have since gone to a three step ‘fixed’ aider on my stepps. Very happy with the new setup!! I have a vid on it. Check it out!

You can rappel down if you switch your tether to a 20-30ft rope

From the ground prospective, it appears you're gonna run out of tree to climb.

That looks a lot easier than the Nader Swaider and safer, what's your thought

It works but it's just a bit sketchier than I would like. I just built some three step aiders that I really like. Video coming soon.

are you using a modified carabiner to attach your aider to the WE steps or is it something else?

With this setup, I was using a heavy ratchet strap hook with sewn webbing. I have since moved to a system that is not quite as ‘sketchy’. I now use three-step ‘fixed’ aiders on my steps. I recently put up a vid explaining how I use them. Check it out!
