I'd love to watch a series where you fully restore this car back to original, but maybe with a power adder and lowered! I can't wrap my head around the scope of work, but I'm glad there are talented people like you have the the skill and resources to save a car like this.
NEVER modify a Cobra of that year, only depreciates the value. Always keep it stock no matter what. If you fix it up and sell it, i hope the next person doesn't modify it.
My dad bought a few of these theft recovery cobras out of California around 20 years ago. They used to cost him around $100 for a rolling body with vins. Some he made semi complete rollers and one he fixed and drove. This one can definitely be saved.
The underside looks just as good as my much loved 94 and 95 Cobras. This is much better to build than a body filler blasted 20 footer. Rare example of being better the closer you look.
Its kinda rare to see a stock 93 cobra ..alot of people modified them ..putting that car back to stock or as close to stock as you can would be awesome thats just my opinion ..but like you said anything you do to it its giving it a second chance 👍
I don't think stock 93s are all that rare compared to the number made. Lots of guys keep these cars stock and won't drive them either they suffer from the Shelby syndrome where owners are scared to actually enjoy them or mod them lol. Sure alot got modded but there is alot of stock ones compared to the number made compared to say normal run of the mill fox bodies.
I’m curious as to why the thieves removed all the VIN tags and decals? As stated they couldn’t be reused on another car. Was it to somehow avoid prosecution if caught with the car?
Thank you for making an effort to make sure this car gets back on the road in some fashion. Too many content creators buying rare cars and destroying them in the name of views and likes. Would love to see it ride again👍
This hurts me to see. Brings back a bad memory of when my 1990 (25th Anniversary) hatchback got stolen while I was at my girlfriends (now wife’s) apartment. I parked my car near the front because there weren’t anymore spots by her unit, and woke up to go to work only to discover that my 5.0 was gone! 😢 Once the police located it, I went to recover my vehicle, the windows were smashed wit bats, my personal belongings were removed from the glovebox, and the brain was ripped out the engine along with all the wires being pulled and ripped out. The dash was cracked and pulled apart and of course my music/sound system was stolen too. It definitely was a hater move because they didn’t just steal my car, but the beat it up and vandalized it afterwards. None the less, I sold it for only $1k, and purchased a 1998 4.6 5-Speed Mustang GT. I still kick myself to this day for selling my 5.0 for only $1k. I was the second owner, and the motor only had like 60k miles on it. Everything was all original except the wheels. I had the original ford wheels that came stock, then put a set of pony mags on, then upgraded to some chrome 17” Cobras. Man I miss that car!
EVENI THAT SHAPE THE 93 COBRA IS VALUABLE LOL I HAVE A LOT OF OFFERS WANTING TO BUY MY VIBRANT RED 93 COBRA LOL OUT OF THE 1007 VIBRANT RED GREY LEATHER AND LOLHOW MANY ARE LEFT WITH 20 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES LOL BUT I DOUBT IT I WILL EVER SELL MY 93 COBRA.
I would be in the saved camp, not really to restore it to cobra statis, but a driving, running, usable Foxbody, to potenial sell. Bringing a almost dead car back to life would be cool series to see.
how do you go about getting the VIN tags replaced? That would be my biggest issue with that car. If it is not a big deal then fix it up, nice blank canvas.
My 1st car was a 91 mustang chp edition got it from a Cali police auction it hat the 5.0 hi output with the chp chip still in the computer it was like a 5.5 I converted n2 a stick got it out of a 95 svt cobra chps don't come i. I MISS THAT CAR
If its a real D code, then its worth restoring with OEM parts, Dig deep as you already know really hard to find and not cheap . But If it were me I would do everything i could to save it and bring it back properly.Do it justice
Its a great story car. I'd preserve the scratched out vins and bring it back to the best version of cobra you can imagine that didn't exist. My version.... Dark Jade, Wild Strawberry, or even White. Maybe a paxton pumped lightning 351 with the slimmest metal cowl hood that can fit. Maker's on the corners and on the front bumper. Looking forward to it.
Bring it back to stock! Black interior is fine, your choice of teal, red of black exterior, proper gt40 headed 302 with a T5, and make it a great cruiser.
Not sure I would waste time putting it back to complete stock. Probably not worth doing that. If I was going to build it I would make it look stock on the outside, but build it up underneath, the engine, and interior. It's originality is long gone. If you aren't looking to build it I would just sell it as is and do nothing to it. Would love to see you do something with it. You are the type of person that this car needs to be built by. In the end it is up to you. But would love to see the content on your channel.
When I stuck a body kit on my 85..I had to add something like 4 cm to the front of the kit..PUT IT BACK TOGETHER..if not as a cobra..use some other vin tags on it...I'm pritty sure you have enough parts cars to make something happen.
I have an original 36k mile 93 cobra shortblock that i bought for a build. Had the original cam in it with the right markings, and its mint. You can have the cam if it will help on this build. Love the channel man, i saw you at foxtober last year, helped you pop start a car.

Solid strut towers rust free floor straight pinch welds its definitely a great project for someone I know you will find a good home for her ! Save the foxbodys 🦊😃
Im sure you watch my channel, I have 5. 93 Cobra theft cars at the moment, If you need any help lmk, I have some good connections. However that car has no Vin # at all, for all a DMV inspector knows that title you have could go to another car without being able to identify that chassis, id say it would make a good drag car at this point. Having no Vins at all kinda makes it useless.
Depends where you live and the rules/laws. If you saw the video of the notchback shell I found a few years back that was removed from the Ford assembly line and used as a "carpet fitment" template, it too had 0 identification. Now it is a "re-assembled" 2020 Ford Mustang with it's own custom VIN #. - This was done in successfully in Ontario Canada. The argument is easier when there is as little left of what makes a car "complete" In reality, this car needs to be stripped back down to the way it was originally and then rebuild from there. Will the car end up with it's original Cobra VIN #? Probably not, but again that is the whole point here, to make something the way you'd want it and have a pretty neat story behind it. If no one wants the car, I'll happily build it.
I understand what your saying. But Canada has different laws I'm sure. Being military I've live in many different states and all have had pretty much the same laws as far as cars missing all vin identification. Have a title to a car with zero vin #s makes it impossible to prove it came from that car. Now I see it had an old inspection sticker on the window. That may help more than most people.think depending on how far back TX goes on inspection records. Trust me I'm just trying to help you out. I've see lots of crazy things happen over the years for sure.
Great find Bro! The vehicle is definitely worthy of restoration! I think it would make great content on your channel if you restored it before selling it...
Perfect, low mileage examples are like $50k. What's a non-original parts, salvage title, 76k mile example worth? It would be cheaper (parts, materials, labor, time) and much less effort to just go buy a good one than to restore this one. Any work on the car would have to be for youtube view money because the only other way to make money on the car is to sell it to someone who wants it as is and does the work for love.
You have completely missed the point of restoring a car like this...most true car guys dont do it for the money dude they do it for the love of the car and for the satisfaction of driving something you built.
UA-cam view money LMAO! I wish. Most people can't afford to just "buy a good one" Cobra or not, this is a solid shell that someone can make their own over time. Will they ultimately have more invested than just buying one done? Absolutely but, #builtnotbought
I've done a lot of Mustang projects, one got featured in MM&FF back in the day, one was Frankenstein'ed together from three wrecks to make one terrible but fun car. The point stands for anyone considering this car though: Weighing the condition and story, either you love the car or you sell it to someone who will - unless you can get paid to do a build by ad revenue. I know, not an option for most, but witness some 'tubers paying way too much for junk at Copart because they plan to get paid via youtube. As for me, I'm still hoping to find the idiot at Ford who decided that not even one '93 Cobra would be equipped with cruise control.
This is right up my ally. If I had the money to buy I’d do the outside stock with makers wheels and 5.2 swap it. But I bet someone will buy it by the end of today for sure.
I know guys in LA who back in 2003-4 got their Cobras stolen. All they found were bare skeleton shells, not even rollers. Sucks when that happens to a new ride. Sucls worse when the car is a classic or collector car. Good luck with that one, seems a bit far gone.
Absolutely ttop cars have a demand for them but not much supply, ecsp the 87-88 speed density fuel injected cars they were some of the stoutest stock 5.0s you could get back in the day other than 93 cobras.
Only mustang that had 4 lug rear disc I believe. Possibly the early 84-85 saleens but I am admittedly not that well versed in those cars. There were other 4 lug rear disc fox cars like the turbo coupe tbird among others i believe.
Thanks I’ll look into it, I know nothing about mustangs. I picked a rolling shell up with a 4 lug disk rear In it. Im just trying to figure out what it is
SVO mustangs had 4 wheel disc with some really nice calipers in the back. All the 4 wheel disc options that came factory do have wider track widths though.
That makes sense the track width looks wide, is there a way I could send you some pictures of it to see what you think it is? I have the vin too but no way to decode it
@@jaysonwebster6414 just measure the axle length.. you can always swap the axles but you'll need to relocate your caliper brackets depending. Lincoln rears were the worst I believe at 1.5" wider per axle
I noticed that the front frame rails are smashed. I have never seen a Foxbody Mustang that did not have damage to the front frame rails, also usually the pinch welds, and even the K member. Ford literally built the chassis out of tin. There was no point where you could lift of jack the car without damaging something. Not only that, but when you did jack up one corner of the car high enough to get a wheel off, the body would flex so much that the doors would not open/close. Just what the hell was Ford thinking? They should never have designed the Fox platform as it is. It's like they cut every corner they could and then some. I have to wonder just how many people who bought these Mustangs actually knew what kind of crap they were buying. It sure would have been cool if they had built the Mustang on a downsized version of the Panther platform. As the owner of a modified CVPI, I can tell you that the Panther platform is probably the best design Ford ever came up with. One can only dream of what could have been.
Wow! Are you running out of projects? What ever happened to lemondrop? Looks like quite a project to do. Keep us posted. Just scored a 93 electric red hatch. Selling my 90 red convertible if anyone interested.🙏
I think you should put it together and use it as a giveaway for your channel. I haven’t seen anyone giving away a 93 cobra but it would be awesome and potentially draw in more subscribers.
Back in "2000" my cousin bought a theft recovery"93"Z28 6speed car with only 30,000 miles on it! Had to replace door's, interior, wheel's and tire's.. Cost him $4200 for car and rebuild, flipped it and got $8500! Literally flipped it in crash, walked away and doubled his Money!!! Do Not Attempt At Home!!!!
Seems like a lot of work but if you have the time and money would be cool channel content. Anything brought back to life that’s old and cool is worth it

I would keep it true to original ! I wish I still had my 85 GT , 5.0 5spd with T-Tops.... Now I can't find any
I'm surprised they didn't Take the rear end out of it.
I think you should put it together and use it as a giveaway for your channel. I haven’t seen anyone giving away a 93 cobra but it would be awesome and potentially draw in more subscribers.
I have a drive shaft from my 93 Corba
That car went to hell in life, it really a shame that someone destroyed it
Where is that mustang yard?
Secret
Did that car come from Darell in temple
I don't know anyone in Temple
Back in "2000" my cousin bought a theft recovery"93"Z28 6speed car with only 30,000 miles on it! Had to replace door's, interior, wheel's and tire's.. Cost him $4200 for car and rebuild, flipped it and got $8500! Literally flipped it in crash, walked away and doubled his Money!!! Do Not Attempt At Home!!!!
there’s so many of them just sitting there 😭
looks like they built another cobra car i think with the parts they took maybe
Probably got parted to maximize profits back in the day..
Seems like a lot of work but if you have the time and money would be cool channel content. Anything brought back to life that’s old and cool is worth it
Do a resto mod and bring it back to life
No front grill cutout that only came on ‘93 cobras🤔
keep it and restore it. very hard to come by definitely take some time to finish it drop a coyote in there 👍 pretty clean under carriage too..
351 engine the way it should of come from the factory, with an old school period correct super charger
Make another Cobra then sell it. Great series for the channel
Never seen a 93 cobra with 4 lug rotors
Man you got it before me I seen this up for sale and messaged the guy he didn't respond to me.
Where did you see it posted for sale? I highly doubt it's the same car
I ran across a 93 teal Cobra 🐍 theft recovery about 10 years ago for 6k I sure do regret to getting it, I think the guy sold it in 1 day.
Bring her back !!
Very cool car. Bring it back to life. Coyote swap it or whatever you want. Aaron Stiles has a few in the same shape. Maybe he’d sell parts. Not sure.
Would you be able to obtain a title
There is a salvage title, depending on your state requirements it could be re-registered.
And since the VIN plates are stolen, i wonder if there is a fake cobra out there with that VIN registered to it.
@@stachebrothersgarage1632 no because you'd see it in the Carfax.
@@stachebrothersgarage1632 was wondering the same thing
If it is as rare as you say restore it to as original as possible
4 lug?
All 93 Cobras are
How much???
Taking offers..
