I have same mower. Mines a 96 another key thing to do every few years with the muffler is to put it on a gas bbq side burner outside well vented and burn out all the carbon deposits. It smells bad and burns for a few hours but it really adds some pep to my ole girl.
high and low speed is dependent on the control lever on your handle and the spring tension on you carb governor vane. if you want engine to have a faster speed you must turn the white plastic wheel a few clicks clockwise, if you want engine to have a slower speed you turn plastic wheel counter clockwise.
Chris, this is a old video, but if you still check this, I like to know if you can get the part numbers for the gaskets for this LMR-1 carb. I have tried Jack small engine and the gasket numbers I pick end up being the wrong ones from the diagrams he has..
My 10515 lost 3rd gear and is losing 2nd, with a rhythmic grinding preceding loss of gear. It still runs fine in first, but shifting is a bit stiff. I figure this is either a slipping pinion gear (in the trans, not the wheels) or shift keys, any idea which is more common or more likely? What are the most common and likely failures in the gearbox?
Ok, I have an old 5hp, I think they discontinued the throttle lever that goes on top of the box, so I was wondering if you had any clue on where I could get one??? I know this video is a few years old.Thanks for the fast reply!
you may not believe this, i get 99% of my parts from ebay. i buy in bulk and save. i do not buy from most online vendors that sell parts at full price, there is no profitability doing this.

i would like to see you actually replace the governor spring as I need to do this but cant figure out how to get the the shaft apart

i think it was a 4.5hp, honestly i cant rember but i think it was the 4.5hp commercial duty engine design.
