I'm so sorry to Toni & Donna. That's heartbreaking. I came to comment on here bcuz my husband & I had this as our wedding song & it's our 33rd anniversary. I'm so lucky to still have him. Five yrs ago he had a heart attack, they put a stent in. Then recently he has chest pain, burning, shortness of breath & he went to the hospital. They needed to put a new stent in, the old one was completely blocked & he was in the verge of another heart attack. Now he has a valve condition & will need a couple of valves replaced. I feel so bad for him. He's a great guy, an amazing husband, father, Grampa, son, brother, & friend. I am hoping to celebrate our 50th someday. 🙏💕😍💑👫💏
I have been married to my sweetheart for 52 years and I love her more every second of every minute, of every hour, of every day, of every year!!!! She was 17 and I was 20 when I married my angel. Now we are in the winter of our lives and I thank God every day she turned her angels eyes my way.
Very beautifully said i felt the same about my wife who i met when i was 20 and she also was 21 ironically this was the first song we danced to. She passed on jan 6 2021 from covid at age 53 . I will always remember her asking me to dance . I knew instantly we would be together forever. God how i wish i could have one more dance with her
Ed C ~ Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful love story with all of us. Reminds me so much of my great grandparents ~ who I was so fortunate to have grown up around them and all of my wonderful family ~ They also married young as it was done back in the day ~ They married as teens and were together forever ~ to have grown up around that kind of pure love was a true blessing for me, personally. Great grammie and grampie both lived to be in their late ninety's ~ So beautifully said "The winter of our lives" as I live in Northern Maine (Presque Isle) Been here going on 21 years now and the longest I've ever lived anywhere as I truly have a nomadic soul. When I seen you say "The winter of our lives" ~ They winters are truly long here and I just turned 61 this past March and the winters are getting rough on me and then, I stop and think of my great grandparents who lived their entire lives here ~ with a huge family surrounding them ~ they survived it and never heard them complain not one time ever about the winters ~ So, I'm going to take a page from their book and realize that every minute God grants me is a minute I will never take for granted. Thank you, once again for sharing such a beautiful story of pure love. Enjoy together ~ The winter of your lives ~ God Bless both of you today (Mothers' Day 2021) and every minute you have to cherish and love one another. ♥ +
My wife of 15 years died this week. We will bury her tomorrow. Playing some favorite songs and this one expresses how I felt about her every day we were together. Thank you for finding the words to express my heart. Love you Annie. Miss you.

Still listening in September, 2024, and I am soon to be 77 years old next month! I am a sassy, sexy, hair nation rock music loving grandmother and trying to teach my grandchildren the great music of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and even some into today’s music!
Beautiful song and a great voice. Those of you that have this kind of relationship, please thank God for it. You really don't know how extremely blessed you are.

This is one of the most beautiful songs that comes from within the soul... that deeply touches one's soul. ❤ May you Rest In Peace Jeff ... your Legacy will endure forever!! ♾️ Thank you for sharing. 💖
Jeff was just pure talent he loved music n he could express himself without reading music he just spoke from his heart. I will forever treasure this song forever 🎵🎼💟🎧🎤
R.I.P. Jeff, Still listening in 2019. Artist and musicians just don’t put their heart and soul in their music like they use to!!!! Road house wouldn’t have been the same great movie it was, if it wasn’t for this band also!!!
I agree with you, the artist's today sure don't put their all in their music they produce. So much of it is digital enhance and wrote by someone else for them to get famous from the writer's work and creative mind, heart & soul.
Had a slow skate to this song with the guy who would be my Junior prom date back in 1994. Never saw him again after prom night... then less than a week of being on a dating ap post divorce he messaged me. More than 2 decades after that slow skate we're discovering how perfect we are for each other.
I'm so happy for you both that you found each other. I wish that some thing like that would happen to me. I have been on several dating sites for 5 years and I haven't found anyone yet. Congratulations to you!!!!
Gives me chills every time I hear this song!!! Such a talented and gifted musician is Jeff Healey!! To think he was blind and sang and played guitar like this is amazing!! RIP Jeff, your legend and music live on!!
This was the 1st song I danced with my now husband who sang it to me 13yrs ago on our 1st non date lol. We just celebrated our 12th anniversary on 12/21/12 (24), still crazy in love... love love this song, everytime it comes on we melt together for a few minutes and reminisce our beginnings thankful for what we have!❤ Nothing like this music anymore.
One hell of a guitarist. Could play rock and blues with the best and hold his own against the like of Stevie Rae Vaughn and B.B. King. He was simply one of the greatest.
Amen. I've loved this song since it came out in the '80s and revisit it on UA-cam from time to time. When I began to deal with vision loss due to a degenerative corneal disease 10 years ago, Jeff Healey became a true rock star. His story is tragic, but his music lives on. He is indeed an inspiration to many, including myself, who is seeing the world better with one not-so-fun corneal transplant thus far and one to go. I'll never have 20/20 uncorrected vision again (or maybe even corrected), but I'm grateful to not be where I was a few years ago. To everyone with advanced keratoconus, you can do it and it really can be worse.
@@oceans.and.deserts Thanks for sharing your inspirational story of your vision struggles!!! What an inspiration you are for others!! Blessings as you continue on your journey!!! Praying all goes well for you. Peace and happiness, Grace
Jeff didnt need to see with his eyes. That man saw clearly with his heart. I'm a hip hop fan first but this song right here?! It gives me chills and goosebumps they way Jeff wrote and performed purely from the heart. Timeless.
This was the song my husband Charlie sang to me walking down the isle at OUR WEDDING, he means the world to me and my first marriage ever. What a gentleman and I know he loves me so. RIP your awesome JEFF!!
This once in a lifetime shooting star of a talent forever made his mark in history with quite possibly the greatest love ballad of ALL time.. I'd put "Angel Eyes"up there against anything in the past 50 years.
I had the honor of opening for him in Louisville in 1989 when I played in a upand coming band we had the chance to make it but our jobs took us on another path jeff was such a great guy RIP
MY husband sung this to me in the middle of a bowling alley ! HIS name is Gary Thompson . he's not in this world ANYMORE.passed at a very young age gave me a beautiful daughter. Ashley Thompson . MISS him terribly everyday . thank you for such a beautiful memory with this song !
I heard this song when i marred sam .i was so in love.buy he passed a way.i have been married 3 Times an all 3 was a different love. An verey spelly love
Great song. Great musician. More importantly - great person. This man didn't let his blindness define him, only motivate him to overcome and help others with disabilities. A hero
my husband messaged me this song and a couple days later passed away in a terrible car accident. this song means the world to me. R.I.P. Edward Wilhite. I love you with all i got
Jeff was a brilliant guitarist with a unique way of playing. I had the privilege to see him play live on two occasions and at one of them he played this song when all the audience pleaded 'Play Angel Eyes' when Jeff asked for requests! Sorely missed. A true guitar legend.
My wife and I met to this song, she was in 7th grade and me 8th. Today, 08/13/2016 we have two awesome kids and still going strong! I not ashamed to say I still cry when I hear this song. We had no idea but I know this, she is my sun rise every morning!!! She is my best friend ever, I love you Brandy! This year BTW will be 16 years of a best friends marriage!

This is a masterpiece from the 80's and will allways be on my top of my playlist. He died too young. Beautiful voice and song 2019. Man wishing I could go back to the 80's for many reasons.
Laying here in bed with the memories of this song, so much so, I had to listen again. My husband, along with his sister and friends called me in the middle of the night and sang this to me. And I crumbled. And I said yes. And we started dating. And we moved in with each other within a few months. 5 years later we married. Everyday was pure happiness. 20 years later, I became a widow. In a blink of an eye. Let the one you love know it every day. You don’t know if you’ll ever get a second chance.
GOD BLESS. IVE LOST ALL BUT MY MOTHER AND SONS. I HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO REMARRY. MY HUSBAND HAD HEART DISEASE. I LIVE WITH THAT FEAR. TRULY FROM MY HEART, LOVE YOURSELF. LIVE FOR YOU NOW, SOUNDS KINDA HOKEY, BUT FROM MY HEART PRAY TO LIVE FOR YOU. WE ALL HAVE BUT A SHORT WHILE
We don't know how long we have on this earth. My sweet husband passed away suddenly 10 years ago. He was only 55. We always said, I love you before going to bed. I'm so glad we did that. I make sure the people in my life know how I feel about them.
This is the first song I ever heard from Jeff and I was instantly hooked, his voice was amazing and his emotions were poured into every song for us to feel. R.I.P Jeff, you are sorely missed!!
I am stunned that Jeff Healy passed away. I love this beautiful song and the music and lyrics are amazing and meaningful. May it always make people feel good !!! R.I.P. Jeff Love your voice and you always
Wow, I remember they would play this song for the last chance to dance with someone at the skating ring. That was back in the 90's, and I still love it in 2018. Who else?
This was my 1st dance song at my wedding. Not married to him anymore, but this song makes me remember I definitely loved him deeply once. Thankfully, we were able to get past the pain and anger and become friends again. Since we are raising children, it truly is for the best for everyone. 💗
First dance at my wedding too... Married 18 years, but divorced now. I loved her so much, shame she decided to step out. We too are raising children, we communicate in the best interests of the kids, but we are not friends. Ironically her name was Nicole too.
Nicole is my daughters name!! Beautiful......I envy you. It is such a blessing to be able to get past, and CO-PARENT, my gosh....if only......she's 20 now, but still, she needs her father. She wants to have him in her life. He was never my partner, and yet he refuses to speak to me or co-parent. I've heard her cry at night because of the pain she feels about him. Blessings to you, Nicole, and your family!!
Me and my husband danced to this every time it came on I'm from Ocala fla he's from New Orleans what a ride it's been for 48 years I'll always love him he is sick and lost a leg in 2015 but I remember every dance we did what a enjoy ment it was
I think it was a reoccurence from the cancer he had as a child, but it just set into his legs and then spread to his lungs. Just my own thoughts on how cancer occurs.

@@malkneilThat may be true, but that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. Though you should really takes some time to think about where does everything in the Universe come from, and how do living things exist and create more living things. It's pretty incredible how all living things work so perfectly and serve a purpose, even all the way down to bacteria. Maybe there's a God and angels and all that, or maybe there's not...But something is in control. She can believe what she wants, like you can believe what you want. There's no right or wrong. That's why it's called faith.

Jeff Healey is proof that you don't have to see to be able to read music... It's a true gift that lies deep within the soul! This is one of the most beautiful songs that comes from within the soul... that deeply touches one's soul. ❤ May you Rest In Peace Jeff ... your Legacy will endure forever!! ♾️ Thank you for sharing. 💖
I'll shake a tear and blast this song!
LoVe u your the best
His song touches my heart and I cry sometimes!
I sing this song every day and cry lol
Jeff was just pure talent he loved music n he could express himself without reading music he just spoke from his heart. I will forever treasure this song forever 🎵🎼💟🎧🎤
This song takes me back to 1989! I love this song!!! Back when music was good!!!
Ain’t that right bro me too... good times
Rachel Ennis Exactly, couldn’t have said it better myself!!!👍
Todays music sucks!
chuck mcginty I totally agree!!!
Hell yeah
Had a slow skate to this song with the guy who would be my Junior prom date back in 1994. Never saw him again after prom night... then less than a week of being on a dating ap post divorce he messaged me. More than 2 decades after that slow skate we're discovering how perfect we are for each other.
Aaaaaawwwwwwwweeeee
Classic......it was meant to be.
11 months later...and then?
That's awesome but kinda sad though. 20 years y'all missed out on.
I'm so happy for you both that you found each other. I wish that some thing like that would happen to me. I have been on several dating sites for 5 years and I haven't found anyone yet. Congratulations to you!!!!
Jeff was barely 20 years old when this hit the charts! Good ol days.
Gives me chills every time I hear this song!!! Such a talented and gifted musician is Jeff Healey!! To think he was blind and sang and played guitar like this is amazing!! RIP Jeff, your legend and music live on!!

Nah. We can keep listening to the gems like this.
I'll be playing this at my wedding if I ever get married. I've always loved it, even though it was before my time. Amazing natural talent.
He passed away few years back ...if you seen the movie roadhouse with Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliott he was the band at the bar..
This was my parents wedding song
This was mine and my husband's wedding song almost 21 years ago. It's been our song for going on 31 years

Forgot to mention I was a girl (45) from a big city who moved to a small town in Vermont and married the local dairy farmer (35)! ❤
One hell of a guitarist. Could play rock and blues with the best and hold his own against the like of Stevie Rae Vaughn and B.B. King. He was simply one of the greatest.
This guy was such a great musician and an inspiration to all disabled people RIP
not many know(now-a-days) he was blind. Or adopted. What a beautiful human
One of the greatest blind man playing the guitar in all my time of life 1977 still going 43 I love th his band so much I listen to it every single day

Jeff didnt need to see with his eyes. That man saw clearly with his heart. I'm a hip hop fan first but this song right here?! It gives me chills and goosebumps they way Jeff wrote and performed purely from the heart. Timeless.

Jeff was a brilliant guitarist with a unique way of playing. I had the privilege to see him play live on two occasions and at one of them he played this song when all the audience pleaded 'Play Angel Eyes' when Jeff asked for requests! Sorely missed. A true guitar legend.

There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
This is a masterpiece from the 80's and will allways be on my top of my playlist. He died too young. Beautiful voice and song 2019. Man wishing I could go back to the 80's for many reasons.
Me Too!
Me three!
This and If I could just hold you again stays on repeat.
Wish I could live the rest of my life in this era.
So sorry for your loss sis. 💗
Thats really sad...but really awesome!!!!!

Gone so soon. So young. Passed away at age 41 on 3/2/08 from lung cancer. Poor guy. May he RIP.
How did he get lung cancer?Did he smoke?
Not sure. He was an occasional smoker.
I think it was a reoccurence from the cancer he had as a child, but it just set into his legs and then spread to his lungs. Just my own thoughts on how cancer occurs.
we work in second hand smoke, especially in Jeff's time

There's no proof there's a god of any kind. I find solace that he impacted people while he was living. Somehow that's enough for me.
@@malkneil
Its not about proof its about FAITH
@@malkneilThat may be true, but that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. Though you should really takes some time to think about where does everything in the Universe come from, and how do living things exist and create more living things. It's pretty incredible how all living things work so perfectly and serve a purpose, even all the way down to bacteria. Maybe there's a God and angels and all that, or maybe there's not...But something is in control. She can believe what she wants, like you can believe what you want. There's no right or wrong. That's why it's called faith.
