A timeless masterpiece this really is. This is the music that we long for since the '80s had passed. One of the greatest performing bands "Bad English" was. With John Waite, frontman and lead vocals, this was one band put together nicely. This one, an awesome song it is, with a thundering guitar solo close to the end. Really great stuff that can't be compared from today.

Thank you *****but I know there is no worries here we put God first in all ,and she has the purest heart , I treated her bad in beginning prior to our marriage and a lot derived from coming out of a toxic relationship now that woman had a deceitful smile and cheated not once put twice, a black widow with a snake smile scheming only for herself and selfish ways, family saw it before I did I wish I would have seen it but her manipulation of illness she never had and games she would throw to distract looking back always when I was going to leave her, she knew I was a good guy and took advantage of that to try games to hold on ,the last several years was her having me feel sorry for her, but like I said it wasn't a healthy relationship , God removed me so I see what true love, a healthy love is , and my beautiful she stood by me when any one else would have left. She kept vows even when we were just dating and hasnt stopped .We will be renewing vows this next spring , and kids graduations from college , and.mine as well which moves us to greater things . She graduated and has been working as a nurse and God has truly blessed us and the it's genuine , I'm blessed and it's beautiful as we both just want to give all to one another and grow old together , and spend the rest of our days making each other happy and our dreams come we are looking forward to marriages with our kids and soon grandkids ,life is good, I'm sorry to hear that happened to you and I pray God will bring you someone who you will think the world of and she will think the world of you too and it will be genuine that is the key some women aren't there just after money control neediness some are very narcissistic which was the case with my ex and when they're narcissistic you can't change them or their ways they live in a total different fantasy world of her own but there are good women out there don't build up walls that put God first in all and he will bring the right person for you I pray your heart be healed be blessed brother
Summer 1989. Just finished my 1st year of college. Saw Bad English open for White Snake. What a great time to be alive. The music was stellar, the mood was awesome, and the future was bright.
I am seriously jealous , what a memory to have . I think this song is a little corny but the voice . John Waite think he could sing the dictionary and make you feel emotion .

Oh sure. This band and their songs weren't AT ALL overly influenced by the big-hair 80's, music video bullshit decade. Riiight. They were just making completely original music for the sake of music and not a pay day... Good call.
100%...the musical production back then brings so much emotion and soul. i question why artists nowadays cant do this? is it because it’s challenging to make guitar riffs, cool drums leading to the last chorus, melodic keyboard etc?
The 80's came up with some of the most popular songs that are still echoing memories of growing up in our teens.❤ There was always a storyline in a song. You are entertained by the music and the storyline tells of something .
I lost my husband in 2015 to a massive heart attack. When I listen to this song I feel his presence is with me. I see his smile and beautiful blue eyes.
I've just lost my husband of 32 years, after 4 months of being diagnosed with ALS. He lost all the battles with this horrific disease but at the end he won the battle, deciding his own destiny. This song was one of our favorites and brings tears and pain to my heart every time I hear i.
I'm here....had this jingle come to me head space today and laughed....one of them jingles that pop in and you go heyyyyyyyy wait a sec I know this from many many moons ago and it was always playing in so many parts of my life back when...so yes...yes I'm here with ya chum!
This was the first song my wife and I danced to at our wedding. Got married in 2005 and we had an all 80's rock wedding. The DJ said our playlist was one of the best he's ever seen....damn right it was.
This was my husband and I song in 90 when we meet. He would sing it to me. And 24 years married tonight.. and he is still singing and making my heart flutter. Here is too another 100 years more.
I'm 31 years old now. I grew up with different generational music, first from my parents and then my older brothers. Everytime I listen to these songs, I'm reminded of those days..when I was just a little girl watching my brothers jam these songs out. Time flies. No hate to this generation's music but nothing speaks to me more than the oldies.
how I wish to live as a teenager in the 80s or 90s. Great music/songs and no distructive social media. Life was so much happier when it was still simple. Family has more time to have meaningful conversation, more time to be each other and Happiness was much easier to reach as it was just everywhere. I like the old ways of winning someone's heart (love letters, music, inexpensive gift but with more value because of effort) and the ways how group of friends hang out (Foodtrip, Music, And falling inlove together).
Lady in Blue it was the best time to grow up. Every single song will take me back to a specific memory and all i can do is smile. I would go back in a milisecond just to feel that's happiness again.

I love this song, one of my favorites when I was in my early 20’s. I just learned recently that some of the members of this band are from the band Journey because Steve Perry quit. The reason why their song is a hit because the music they create are rock ballads with some touch of classical music that touches the hearts of the listeners and their music is about love.
Here on the 2nd January 2023, with a lot of really gloomy outlooks, and this song just made me feel A LOT HAPPIER!! It actually made me feel happy! It picked me up, can you believe that!! Thank you John Waite and God bless you for your great art. 👏👏👏👏👑👑👑👑
Can't believe how on earth a legendary song like this only garnered around 50m views...man how today's people just don't know how to appreciate great song of 1980s. Still one of the greatest songs in my book.
Yes they were sir. Afraid we will never have another decade that great. IMO it had the best music, the best movies, and the best tv shows. And I don't care what anyone thinks bug hair was sexy!!!!
Back then musicians could play like nobody's business...they really knew what they were doing. Today they are still out there, but not in the spotlight anymore. It's all rap and really lame pop music. Thank you digital technology.
Its sad to realize the kids of today will never really feel the power of music....... Its almost all just meaningless crap on the radio with no heart or soul in any of it. Just another thing kids now have lost out on.
I think of my 1 year old daughter when I hear this song. When I feel like I am having a bad day and can’t face the world, her reaching for me to pick her up to hold her makes my day so much brighter. I love to see her smile. She makes me feel so important to her.
Those of us that grew up in the 80s are by far the most privileged and I am honored. This song means more to me now than it ever did before and it’s 2022.
"Sometimes I want to give up I want to give in, I want to quit the fight and then I see you, baby and everything's alright, everything's alright"... My Goodness, this is a poem made into song.! i love it. Beautiful song. I love 80s music.
Yeah so beautiful song my friend Andy and I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days, and I hope God bless you to have a great day today, I'm Roy from Happy camp California. Where are you from ?
Married my wife in late 2022, only 18months ago as I type this so feels like 5mins ago.I did my own softer version and sang/played her down the Aisle to this with her sister as backing vocal- i REALLY needed her to make it half decent and not a complete laughing stock but i did my best. My wife hadn't heard the song before even though we're 70s born kids- mostly because Bad English were under the radar compared to bon jovi and all the other 80s rock bands. But she loved it and loved the words as soon as I played her this and said i could have a go at doing it as her bridal song. We also had our first dance to this main rock version.
Holy crap that's a lot of talent on one stage. Hell, just behind the drums... Imagine fronting a band knowing your drummer can sing circles around you.
This song has been a fav of mine since it came out in the 80s when I was a teen...I sing it to my husband of almost 32 yrs, all the time! Truly Thank you for this song🩵
I feel lucky because I was grow up with this song. This song was one of my father's jam when he was young in 80s era. He love to listened to this song when I was kid. Now I am 23 and I just realized this song is GOLD. I am glad that everyone still love this song so much
Bad English was such a gem, such a beautiful band with so much talent combined in one unit... Of course John Waite's characteristic voice, always full of emotion, that blended so perfectly with Neal Schon's guitars and Jonathan Cain's keyboards. And the powerhouse rhythm section of Rick Phillips and Deen Castronovo... What an AMAZING band. I've never understood how John Waite could just walk out of that situation like it was worth nothing. When you are offered the chance to work with an absolute music legend like Neal Schon, and you just throw that away... That's an act of insanity. By doing that, John firmly established his slightly notorious reputation as a man who's just impossible to work with. Bad English could and should have made so much more beautiful music, but unfortunately that never happened. Schon, Cain & Castronovo revived Journey with singer Arnel Pineda, Rick Phillips went to Styx, and John Waite ? His career never recovered from that delusional decision. He still performs in clubs and small venues here or there, but the magic is gone. Very sad. I still cherish that first Bad English album. It's timeless.
We have no idea of the pressures on him or perhaps they had different musical tastes. That they worked to blackball him is telling all on its own, they knew without him the group was finished. Placing the burden on his shoulders without understanding what led to his departure is pure speculation?
This song is me my husband all the time 32 years being married. And still in love and we love making each other smile alot. I love my husband so much. ❤
Este roloooon me regresa a mi infancia cuando tenía a mi familia unida y completa ❤️ Ahora solo queda fotos y recuerdos Disfruta a tu familia.. Lo bueno nunca dura para siempre
Listening to this song in rembrance of my mother she died 4 years ago (cancer). It was not a song she liked or so, it suddenly touched me when I was listening to some good old rock songs (I‘m 25, got this passion from my dad) … I admire the 80s rock so it was a song i „met“ at some time. „When I see you smile“ reminds me at the moments when we had a laugh, when I saw her smile. It‘s so amazing what music can do emotionally, and I enjoy this experience (not only from this song) every time! All the best for you! When you have a difficult time, always believe in the good and the positive moments. They will come towards you. I witnessed that! Greetings from Germany.
I'll argue with anybody , we definitely grew up with the best music ! My mom played 50's music to me , my uncle turned me on to the 60's and 70's rock . Then ... i was a teen , growing up to 80's music . We were spoiled guys ! Not much that comes out now , that i get THIS kinda feeling from ❤
I will be dancing to this with my son at his wedding for the mother son dance this year. I can’t hear this song , and not think of our life together, he’s 32- I was a young mother- and his little smile it seriously what got me through some of the toughest times - I was so happy he listened to this song and chose it.
The song I chose for the “Mother/Son dance” at my wedding, my mother cried through the whole song. I felt terrible, but the song reminded her of my Grandpa/her dad which we lost a few months prior.
This song just puts a smile on your face and lets you know that true love really exists ❤❤

"When I See You Smile"
Sometimes I wonder how I'd ever make it through
Through this world without having you
I just wouldn't have a clue
'Cause sometimes it seems like this world's closing in on me
And there's no way of breaking free
And then I see you reach for me
Sometimes I wanna give up, wanna give in
I wanna quit the fight
And then I see you baby
And everything's alright, everything's alright
When I see you smile, I can face the world
Oh, oh
You know I can do anything
When I see you smile, I see a ray of light
Oh, oh
I see it shining right through the rain
When I see you smile
Baby when I see you smile at me
Oh, yeah
Baby there's nothing in this world that could ever do
What a touch of your hand can do
It's like nothing that I ever knew
Hey
And when the rain is falling, I don't feel it
'Cause you're here with me now
And one look at you baby
Is all I'll ever need, is all I'll ever need
When I see you smile, I can face the world
Oh, oh
You know I can do anything
When I see you smile, I see a ray of light
Oh, oh
I see it shining right through the rain
When I see you smile
Baby, baby when I see you smile at me
Sometimes I wanna give up, I wanna give in
I wanna quit the fight
Then one look at you baby
And everything's alright
Hey, everything's alright
It's alright
When I see you smile, I can face the world
Oh, oh
You know I can do anything
When I see you smile, I see a ray of light
Oh, oh
I see it shining right through the rain
When I see you smile, I can face the world
Oh, oh
You know I can do anything
When I see you smile, oh yeah
Baby when I see you smile
Smile at me

Oh sure. This band and their songs weren't AT ALL overly influenced by the big-hair 80's, music video bullshit decade. Riiight. They were just making completely original music for the sake of music and not a pay day... Good call.
There is no denying that music progresses as time goes. There are still good ones in this generation but man these types of songs just hits different.
They touch your soul
100%...the musical production back then brings so much emotion and soul. i question why artists nowadays cant do this? is it because it’s challenging to make guitar riffs, cool drums leading to the last chorus, melodic keyboard etc?

The 80's came up with some of the most popular songs that are still echoing memories of growing up in our teens.❤
There was always a storyline in a song. You are entertained by the music and the storyline tells of something .
I wish they had a time machine you could get on to go back in time to the 80s, i would get on in a minute lol i miss this kind of music
Not only that but the whole space and time of the places were at when it played!

I've just lost my husband of 32 years, after 4 months of being diagnosed with ALS. He lost all the battles with this horrific disease but at the end he won the battle, deciding his own destiny. This song was one of our favorites and brings tears and pain to my heart every time I hear i.

Hello Tajma how are you doing?
I'm 31 years old now. I grew up with different generational music, first from my parents and then my older brothers. Everytime I listen to these songs, I'm reminded of those days..when I was just a little girl watching my brothers jam these songs out. Time flies. No hate to this generation's music but nothing speaks to me more than the oldies.
i see your ray of light
how I wish to live as a teenager in the 80s or 90s.
I was a teenager late 80's early 90's born in '74 the music was awesome

I love this song, one of my favorites when I was in my early 20’s. I just learned recently that some of the members of this band are from the band Journey because Steve Perry quit. The reason why their song is a hit because the music they create are rock ballads with some touch of classical music that touches the hearts of the listeners and their music is about love.
The singer is John Waite from "I ain't missing you fame"
Actually a "Supergroup", The Baby's, Journey, Styx and I can't remember the other.
Lead Guitarist, Drummer and Keyboard.
Even though 3/5 of them are Journey members, they created their own sound, never reminded me of Journey once. Amazing.

Thank Yoy, information.👍
We have no idea of the pressures on him or perhaps they had different musical tastes. That they worked to blackball him is telling all on its own, they knew without him the group was finished. Placing the burden on his shoulders without understanding what led to his departure is pure speculation?
He’s thinking that journey will be back so he leaves the band bad english 😅😅😅😅
I don't think John Waite cares. He's an artist. He's happy where he is . I actually respect that greatly.
