    The first thing you should do is remove the positive or negative power cable from the battery pack.
    Working on the controller and removing or plugging in the cables to the controller can cause a surge that will short out the controller.

    Thanks for the great video. Even better are all the answers you provided in response to people's questions. I wish more companies would do that.

    Great video, and thank you for posting. My question is regarding the main golf cart wiring harness... Does the connector have to be rewired if I'm installing this system to a golf cart other than the club cart? I'm going from a Curtis controller which is also running an 5kw motor currently but I'm concerned that the existing golf cart wiring harness will not fit directly to the navitas controller. Would you be able to provide guidance?

      The navitas controller utilizes the same 16 pin connector as the Curtis controller.

    I have a 36V TXT, can I just use the controller without getting a new motor?

      We have a number of Navitas setup options that depend on your cart's original controller and what you are looking to do. We'd love to advise further so you can get exactly what you're looking for, so check out the chat option in our store (shop.fsip.biz/), email customerservice@fsip.biz, or call 1-800-333-1194 to get one of our specialists, who can help with your specific setup.

    My question is this. What happens if instead of installing four 12-volt batteries I install six eight-volt ones, in my opinion there shouldn't be any problems because they will always be the same 48 volts.?

      The amount of weight involved. Power to weight ratio is different.

    Can the Navitas be used in an EZGO with dual motors and dual controllers? It is a 2019 EZGO Express 4 x4.

    • @fsipelectronics
      @fsipelectronics  Місяць тому

      Hi David! It may be possible to do this. We may need more information, but Navitas does have a dual motor/dual controller set up that's available on our online store. This is, however, an in depth installation so we do not recommend it for beginner installers. If you reach out to our sales team at sales@fsip.biz, they would be happy to discuss this further with you!

    Russ I have Tomberland 2018 48v e merge. Want to convert to on a fly speed to 30 mph. Navitus does not make harness for Thomb. Any advise

    • @fsipelectronics
      @fsipelectronics  Рік тому

      Hi Russ, thanks for asking! You are correct that Navitas does not offer a Tomberlin specific kit, however we may actually have an AC conversion that could work for your vehicle. In order to know if it could work for you or not, we need to ask you some more detailed questions about your specific cart, if you reach out to us at sales@fsip.biz and ask this same question in an email, we can discuss what options we might have to upgrade your Tomberlin E-merge.

    Sir i have a golf vehicle when i press pedal single time it can not move so i press pedal many time then it move and the smoothely run but the only problem is that its starting torque is very low i want to increase motor starting torque what you suggest please

    • @brentseizer1019
      @brentseizer1019 2 місяці тому

      Use your meter to check the resistance values coming out of your MCOR.
      This iwhat your controller uses to know how far you are pressing the accelerator pedal.
      You may have to replace the MCOR. About $40.
      If you want more torque, the send your motor in to PlumQuick to get it upgraded to a torque specific motor.

    Would this work on a 95 EZGO Medalist 36 Volt

    • @fsipelectronics

      For this specific cart, we offer a TSX kit that may work better if your cart does not have an ITS throttle: www.shop.fsip.biz/en/product/recently-added-new-products/new-navitas-3648v-440a-non-its-series-conversion-kit--1-TSX3-Kit--87-TSX3-440SER. To use this particular TAC2 DC/AC conversion kit featured in the video on an E-Z-GO Medalist, it may require you to replace one or more vehicle harnesses. This could result in having to rewire the entire cart. Please, feel free to give us a call to discuss your options at 800-333-1194.

    Can you do this with an older resistor cart?

    • @fsipelectronics
      @fsipelectronics  4 роки тому

      Installing this kit in an older resistor style cart would be a little trickier due to requiring a replacement of the accelerator pedal, different switches, and a few other mechanical items. It’s not impossible but would require somebody very familiar with both older and newer systems to install it. We would recommend inquiring at your local dealer if it would be a project they could handle for you.

    was that speed test on stock tires? If I install this system on my cart that has 23" tires and a lift, how fast should I expect it to go?

    • @fsipelectronics
      @fsipelectronics  Рік тому

      Hi, Yes that was on stock tires. Navitas offers a number of different options ranging from 4KW 440A kits up to our largest 5kw 600A kit. Most vehicles will be close to 30+ mph fairly easily.

    I have a 2000 EZGO and I would like to increase the speed. How can I do that?

    • @brentseizer1019
      @brentseizer1019 2 місяці тому

      1. replace lead acid with lithium, and lose about 250 pounds.
      2. larger tires and wheels. May require a lift kit.
      3. change out controller and motor.
      4. change out the gearing within the trans axle.
      Pick any one of these options. You can do each of these one at a time, and you will increase speed each time.

    I have a new 400amp navitas ac kit ready to install. Purchased new 2 gauge cables and a 400 amp solenoid. Are the resistor and diode still required? Sales director at Navitas says they are not on older series carts. I have a 2014 ezgo txt 48v.
    Thanks

      Hello Bob, you are correct! The resistor and diode are not required for your 2014 E-Z-GO TXT.

    I have a 2018 Yamaha drive 2, will I require a solenoid upgrade or any wiring upgrade

    • @brentseizer1019
      @brentseizer1019 2 місяці тому

      The solenoid upgrade is for the benefit of the controller.
      Changing the 4 or 6 gauge wires to 2 gauge benefits the motor.

    What did you do with the left over plug that came off the motor speed sensor?

    • @brentseizer1019
      @brentseizer1019 2 місяці тому

      Pull it back and wire tie it to the wire harness. Navitas motor does not use an external speed sensor.

    How did you hook up the solenoid? I have the same one but I don’t know where to put the yellow red and blue wires. Does any have to go on the front 4pins? Please help

      Using the SU280P-1410 solenoid available at FSIP here: www.shop.fsip.biz/en/product/contactors-albright/new-albright-350a-48v-spno-contactor--102-SU280-1410P
      does require replacing the coil connection ring terminals with .250” FastOn connectors. In order to help identify connections on your exact cart, please call our technical support hotline at 800-333-1194.

      From what I found out the Red goes on the same big terminal as the B+, The yellow goes on the little screw that matches with the B+ and the Blue goes on the opposite little terminal. Hopefully that matches up to what you found out, I haven't turned mine on just yet.

    what do you do with the 4 wire connector that plugged into the original controller what is it for and do you just leave it unplugged

    • @fsipelectronics
      @fsipelectronics  4 роки тому

      The four pin connector on the stock controller is just an extension that leads to a handset connector under your cart's dash. As the Curtis handset programmer is no longer needed when installing this kit, you can just leave this connector disconnected. Another great feature of our DC/AC kit is that it doesn’t require any specialized tools. You can diagnose real-time issues and program the new controller with any smartphone!

    iINSTALLED CLUBCAR LEFT DIODE AND THE RESISTOR IS THAT AN ISSUE AND THE CART IS WICKED !

    • @fsipelectronics
      @fsipelectronics  4 роки тому

      The diode can be left on the solenoid only if connected with respect to the correct polarity. If backwards, this can quickly cause a controller failure. As this can happen quite easily when installing the kit, we always recommend that it is removed. As to the resistor, it is not needed with the new controller due to a precharge function being built into the new controller. We’re glad to hear you are happy with your cart's newfound performance! We’re excited to offer these conversion kits and love hearing and seeing our customers results!
