His solos are so good he doesn't even need to play redundant notes, the tone, feel and the rest of the band got that shit covered, such a beautiful performance Аnd the way Pantera uses a single guitarist in a world with certain bands having 3 guitarists on stage, makes them stand out in the best way possible "That's Heavy!"
When Phil says “this is heavy!” And Dime launches into that epic chunky breakdown. Can’t be fucked with. Pantera were and always will be, the most badass metal band ever. I’m glad it all happened in my time.
Fernando Moreno I'm not really one for modern metal and breakdowns. But I love some Domination. I think what it is, is that the breakdown is slow enough to be heavy hitting, but fast enough to still have a good beat and rythym. Perfect balance.
Around 1990 I was fourteen and going to see suicidal tendencies and exodus and there was a band called Pantera who nobody knew that absolutely blew the place up!
dude that must’ve been fucking awesome, i’m 15, discovered pantera about a year ago, i grew up in a very religious and mexican household, metal isn’t very welcome here, so i didn’t find out about it til like 2 years, but i’m so glad i did, it’s just amazing, metal is amazing, pantera is fucking amazing
@@mexicanmaui1062ong bro the first metal song i heard was raining blood and i was absolutely pumped and when i heard domination i was bouta buss like crazy
Show's how good Phil really was/is too. To do his style of screaming while actually singing notes is incredibly hard to do. To replicate it perfectly live is even harder. Its close to flawless here. One reason he's the best front man in metal history period.
In 2024 I sure am! Can't skip a day listening to that awesome Domination riff, slow 'n heavy, gotta love it! Should've seen 'em live in my country back in '98, but unfortunately hadn't yet discovered them back then.
Realest thing on the planet, will never get to experience anything even remotely close to this and it absolutely kills me, cant even get to their tour next year, you dont undetstand how bad i wa t to go to it
Damn, I always felt like singers without guitars always looked awkward, but Phil here (the singer, if you don't know), never does. He's always doing something, and he never looks like he's lost or doesn't know what to do with his body.
Exactly, if you are gonna sing, then you better be a phenomenal singer who needs to concentrate, or you better be up there getting buck and giving the people a real show. Not many singers can do both, but those who can are legendary (Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, etc)
How about a round of applause for Sexy Rexy? Dude’s bass is given equal footing in the mix, and for good reason. After the first two measures of the only breakdown that will ever matter, he holds the fort down when Dime goes into that flawless solo. Your ears only half hear the transition because Rex is note for note with Dime up to that point. Remarkable. Pantera was as tight and energetic a live band as we may ever see.
Daaaaaaaaamn that Domination outro riff is just the coolest, the slower the better. Shouting "This is heavy!!" just makes it ten times better!!! The 90's, those were the days!!!
I've been a metalhead since 2010, and just yesterday listened to this for the first time. Duuuude, I've been missing out. Pantera is badass, this performance is amazing! And surprisingly good for 1992 :D who knows what masterpieces we would've had if Dimebag was still with us.. RIP brother

Phil is bouncing like he's on the moon, Rex is a fucking helicopter, Dime apparently can't get enough of the chug so he stands right next to the speakers and Vinnie is banging like a caveman
An experience I never got to experience because I was 2 but MAN! This has to be the best discovery I’ve ever had! I grew up listening to PANTERA but seeing them through here makes me grateful for the core memories I did & continue to make at shows. Fu**en ey! Cheers 🍻 and thank you for the awesome footage. It shall live on forever
Oh putain la restitution!!! On entend même clairement chaque note que joue Rex!!! C'est complètement dingue. Bravo et mille merci à toi. Le son est incroyable.
Just 1 of many observations from watching Dime play live, he always spent time jamming in front of Vinnie on the drums. An incredibly special metal-duo, both greatly missed!
I wish Pantera would do what tool did. Everyone who has had video ever. Send them to TOOL and let them make the most amazing live video. Let’s get them at the sphere.
Can’t get enough of Pantera🤘🏻🤘🏻 I miss them live, this video comes as close as it was to seeing them live with the sound. No disrespect, but any of us that have seen them live probably have whatever concert it was in their top 3 all time concerts of any bands they’ve seen. And if you were lucky enough to see them more than once,, Pantera probably fills more than one spot in your list. R. I. P. Dime and Vinny, you are missed. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Just when I thought the best version of Domination was in Moscow! This slays that to shit if you ask me. Also, I think this was the same show they played my favorite version of Cemetery Gates where Dime did a little improvising and brought it to a whole new level
whichever angel filmed this set with futuristic recording capabilities in 1992 has captured one of the best live music recordings, ever.
Buck Futtler Right? I was thinking the same. It’s so clear. Better than live DVD quality of today
Angel hahahahaha
Pretty sure the audio is taken from the live album, and synced up with fan footage.
Definitely!
Soundboard + live footage.
Don’t think I’ve ever heard dime miss a single note live. The man was a fucking beast!
He is a god!
promise not being a douche. 4:29 he missed it a little flat. the only reason i noticed is because i heard it the second after i read ur comment. weird

Slash Arnold this song has one of the first breakdowns I've ever heard. pretty sick

Slash Arnold yeah agreed. I was actually trying to remember how to play the solo so I looked for a live vid
Slash Arnold fucking well said fuck New metal no talent ass clowns
Gabe Mclaughlin Honestly I can't stand the things that are so low and slow that they lose all rhythm

Will sure have a soar fucking neck next morning.
Dime's live tone around this time is just phenomenal! Such a huge live sound they had overall! /,,/

I talk about best version of Domination...that´s so perfect! Irreproachable. It is the best video heavy metal history (Russia/1991)
Concuerdo no hay mejor que ese video
Lilia de Paula the solo alone in RUSSIA '91 stands as one of Dimebag's best!
DimebagVision they ALL had some destroying to do. I heard PANTERA only sold like less than 20 shirts!!
