  • Kadam | Tausali | Tavsali | Cucumber Idli | Steamed Cucumber Cake | Konkani Recipe
    Very Authentic and Traditional Konkani Dish called "Kadam" or "Tausali"
    The only difference between "Kadam" and "Tausali" is, Kadam is cooked with "Turmeric Leaves" in small packets, but Tausali is cooked in a vessel like a cake. Kadam are like small cucumber Idlis which can be served without cutting into pieces. Tausali is like a cake which needs to be cut with a knife and served.
    Both of them can be servied hot with Ghee or with chutney or with Jaggery Syrup. Traditionally it is served with Jaggery Syrup.
    Here is this traditional recipe for all.

    Sweet voice,clear instructions in medieval konkani. Goans like me may giggle because our language is heavily corrupted with Portuguese words.
    My wife prepares this here in UK.

      You can grow turmeric plant and get the leaves, if you don't get fresh turmeric leaves.

    • @pradnyashenoy8044
      @pradnyashenoy8044 11 місяців тому

      Yes, turmeric leaves can be grown in a pot, even in balcony. The plant is dormant throughout the year, and needs to be watered little daily. During june, it starts shooting new leaves. That time it needs to be watered profusely everyday. The leaves shoot till September and then it again goes dormant after October.

      Turneric leaves are essential to this recipe.
      Else u can just fill a container with the contents and steam it in a pressure cooker.
