have had my series 2 air for 6 months now and love it! my first ergonomic chair & feel it has been worth cost definitely
thanks for this review. I ordered mine yesterday in the evening and could do some testing today. I love it! I tested some german chairs in professional stores but they mostly had some unknown german brands that cost as much as this one, they were not on this level quality wise. Not by any means! The main reason I got this one was that I wanted a good quality chair with a mesh back so that I don't sweat as we normally don't have AC in germany. Another criteria was that ergonomics rebel stuff, I cant sit on the aeron as it has these tilted sides. I also didnt want to pay more than 1000€ so the fern and the embody were out too. The cushioning on the series 2 is great but the lumbar support is too stiff. The headrest is great especially for wearing professional headphones as they don't get pushed away by those bent headrests on other models. Only thing I'm missing is locking the back when leaning back and the back doesnt go to the front enough so when I do some programming stuff I can go to the front more and still have that contact on the back. But still with 640€ this is way better than all the german chairs that I tested at this price point.

I've been sitting in this chair for the last 6 months and reall y like it.
The price was affordable too. I'm 6'3" tall and weigh 300lbs and the chair fits me.
I added Rollerblade wheels to accommodate an uneven floor.
Interesting! And the seat doesn't bottom out? I felt the bottom immediately...
@@Ahnestly I'm a big guy and bottom out on most chairs. The Series 2 shape made it feel the best to me. I stuck to chairs in my price point and didn't try the Amia.

Just bought a new chair after 7 year use. At start wanted to buy a steelcase series 2 but in my contry it cost ( fully loaded) 1000 eur. I started looking some europian companies and got lucky. I bought hjh office pro-tec xxl. This chairs price is about 650 eur but i got it for 350 eur because it got a little damage on the back.
I think in the future you could make some videos about europian chairs like hjh office, sedus, kinnarps, wilkhahn, rīgas krēslu fabrika etc.

I am 5' 4" and 185#s. SHORT PEOPLE this might be the perfect chair for you! I recently purchased from Crandall Office a Grade A-Steelcase Auth Factory Return Cogent-Connect Fabric (Color: Licorice) with headrest and 4-way fully adjustable arms and + Lumbar support. I like a stiff seat., so Ahn and I differ there. But I find the scoop in the back that he mentioned to be awesome when sitting for hours. I feel I can get a good stretch in the chair and tilt back comfortably. The seat pan lets me micro adjust and you can really tune this thing for short person like NO other (and I have tried all the Steelcase and had a Mirra for over a decade). 4-way arms lets me find comfortable position when typing, handwriting notes, using phone or tablet. The Cogent fabric is probably a much better choice with upholstered back than Ahn's test chair in mesh (better support, no scratchie, etc) The headrest is a must for that lean-back stretch! And the +lumbar is very adjustable and adds just enough additional support without the feel of throwing you forward.
Any thoughts on series 1?
Is there any chance you could/would get a Backforce One (Plus) and compare it to the Secret Labs Titan?

Both fantastic chairs. I think they're very similar chairs - I gifted my dad my series 2, so unfortunately i don't have it on hand to compare. I think I like the Soji a bit more though - better cushioned seatpad. If you decide to pick up, please consider using my links! Helps the channel a lot! Looks like no.. But you compared the lean back and the tension control the the Fern... Is the Fern a good lean back bean bag chair?
The fern's lean back is really nice...you may want to consider getting a headrest if you're going to go hard on the leaning back (it's not great, but it'll hold your head lol)
Is it worth $200 more to buy a series 2 upholstered vs a series 1 air back?
Have this chair and love it!! I use it as my work chair and switch to my HM Embody for gaming at night.
Are you aware the back is the same is the Amia? Would think you'd like this more knowing your love for the latter.
I know there's a fabric version, but I opted to go with the air+3d mesh layer - if I knew the back was the same as the Amia if you get the cushion one, my review might have been different...but the seat is still unacceptable at that price!
Inflation in chair prices has been insane.. $750 for a series 2 is kinda a joke

@@smaao they were like $500 about a year ago. Inflation ruined the chair market.
I paid $520 for a brand new Series 2 Air. Very happy with it way better than my gaming chair

Hey, Ahnestly. Awesome videos. Do you think going up to a Leap V2 is worth paying almost twice the price of the Series 2?
I'm in Australia and I can get a new Series 2 for $800, but a new Leap V2 costs $1,500.
I wasn’t a huge fan of either chair tbh. I would much rather buy an Amia but I understand it’s not available everywhere. Do you have good return policies over there?

@@Ahnestly Our Steelcase retailer is hit and miss I think. Unfortunately the Amia is entirely unavailable in Australia, which is a bummer since I've heard so many good things. If I were to return one, it'd incur a restocking fee.
Are there any other chairs from other manufacturers you could recommend in its place? I have a Secretlab Titan and it hurts my butt a lot.
Haworth? I think the Soji is comparable to the Amia. Fern is my #2 favorite.

Okay I'm a medium size in jackets/shirts and 34/32 when it comes to jeans but I'm also 95kg (210lbs) and 5'10. I can't believe you're saying 200lbs is what it takes to bottom this out like, thanks for confirming that at least, I won't buy it now and find something else. It's a shame though, ideal looking chair for what I wanted.

So do your arms squeak, clink, clack and rattle like mine did? Also is the paint job on the bottom garbage as well? All things that Steelcase said was “normal” for “all chairs”.
On mine, only the cover for the arm mechanism is loose. What part of the bottom are you talking about? I have the white one and the paint has no issues.
@@j3lly935 I had the "white" one as well. On the bottom of the chair towards the backrest, the cavities there from the form. The spraypaint was sparse, I could see the black of the base color of the metal. They told me that was normal since it was in a place people don't look.
Why does Steelcase recommend the Series 2 over the Amia for a gaming chair ?
My guess is bc of the mesh back?

Funny to see all the Steelcase review videos preferring one chair over the other due to the pretty big price differences and seeing the prices in the EU being totally different. At the moment, I could get a Gesture for less than the Amia (if you can get it at all) and far less than the Leap V2. Love to see review videos completely ignoring the prices since it's a different story price-wise over here.
I can even get a Gesture vor less than a Series 2....
That is fascinating. Thank you so much for the heads up. I’ll keep that in mind! Part of the reason I don’t know prices in EU is I have no idea who sells what where. All the big chair companies like HM, Steelcase, etc have different teams working in different areas and are pretty disjointed from each other from what I’ve experienced!
