The best noise reduction video for Davinci Resolve I've seen. You helped me understand the concepts as well as the techniques so I can apply this to differing audio issues. Thanks much...
You're a lifesaver! Your clip must be the 6th or 7th one I've watched so far and had I clicked on yours first, I wouldn't have bothered with the rest. Great job! Thanks a lot.
You're a lifesaver. Sooo many tutorials just tell you what to do without explaining WHY or what those settings are actually adjusting, so it's hard to apply to our own unique situations. Thank you!!!
Loved how you take time to explain what each of the parameters do. Some others on say change this but don't explain what it does. You are awesome. Thanks for teaching us.
@@TheModernFilmmaker do you know of any free tools that will help tag and organize audio samples? I tried to us adsr sample manager but it didn't work properly... file previews or drag into resolve...
I watched this video when I first started resolve and I saved it to watch later. Fast forward to now and the same video was extremely helpful in the stage I’m at in learning resolve. THANK YOU!
Wow. Masterclass. I've been playing around with EQ and noise reduction with mixed results. But the added ordering of the tools (EQ first) is a gem and the gate is a nice touch to round out the sound. I'd love to know more about how to get even richer vocals after this work is done, especially when mixing music and levels so the two aren't fighting for attention. Thanks again.
Such an awesome video thanks so much. First audio guide that makes sense and is easy to follow. I’ve just cleaned up audio taken out side with wind, birds, and tractors in the background. Can’t believe how good it sounds!
Brilliant video. Well explained, clear and patient and actually works when applied to my own project - so many don't work like this! Thanks for taking the time to help us all out!
This HAS to be the BEST Audio episode out there. Great job and thank you very much. Us beginners ... non-huge production houses, really appreciate this. Us guys messing around with GoPros, this is really helpful. ... on Band 2, you change the symbol. What are all those symbols? What do they mean? ... anyone!? Anyone!?
thank you for this tutorial man. I am a filmmaker and I rarely dabble in the sound world and had this project where I had to do my own audio. Thank you for helping me clean up the audio man! definitely earned a subscriber
How happy I’m that I got to know about your channel, now I’m a dedicated subscriber... thanks to you, I can make my film project 😊 you added to my other little knowledge and skill
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I learnt this last year during my audio production class but I still dont understand. However, after watching your tutorial, I could finally understand how EQ works. Istg I cant thank you enough
Thank you soooooooooooo much for this tutorial! You've literally saved me hours as I thought I had to do a voice over on an old recording. I also did multiple Noise Reductions on the same audio to completely remove the background 'humming' noise as when I did it the first time, it was still quite loud. Thank you again - I've subscribed and will definitely come back for more tutorials. I really liked how you broke things down and explained things as I'm a newbie to Davinci :)
Thank you!!! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such kind words 🙏 another Fairlight tutorial on Compression, noise gate and limiter next week 👊✌
Yo!! Thanks so much for taking the time to break things down and making it digestible instead of just flying through how you’re doing it. Appreciate the breakdown 🙏🏽
This is the one mate! I'm just learning audio a bit more, so thanks. I did find that changing the noise reduction to 'Auto speech' made my subjects voice sound better.
Thank you Paul! I really appreciate the comment 👊 The auto setting also works great. It can be really case by case depending on what you are fighting against. ✌
I really wanted to learn how to use Fairlight but instead I learned that she wanted to focus on the lines and the textures to help colors pop for their bachelor pad! Great tutorial btw, just funny hearing someone else's audio over and over again.
Unfortunately mixing audio often entails listing to the same thing over and over again 🤣 it is a weird part of the job as I'm sure you already know. Thanks for the comment 👊✌️
I've been struggling so much with my voice over edits and tonight I finally got it right. Hopefully it comes off that way once I post my video. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Will definitely keep this video saved so I always get back to it to make sure I do the right thing.
Hi, thanks for showing the tips n tricks about Fairlight, certainly those are very helpful. hope to see more about the effect and other essential settings. I usially follow your videos and try to learn more from your experience. keep it up.
This is the most complete tutorial on the steps I've heard others describe elsewhere! I am trying to salvage a recording where the lapel mic failed and the entire lesson was recorded via the built-in camera mic 😅 These steps plus a background music track might just do it - unless you have other advice for me? 🤔
Aaaahhhhh that is the worst! I have been in that situation before, with my fingers and toes crossed hoping the camera audio would work 🤣😭 The techniques in this video are probably the best for that. You may have to really take your time cutting frequencies and you may have to cut a lot. You may want to use the clip EQ to make the 1st round of cuts than use the track EQ to cut even more frequencies. 👊✌️
@@TheModernFilmmaker I think I shouldn't have cut it up - literally - into over 100 clips before trying to fix the audio 😅 So, in the end, I applied the fix to one of the longer segments, and then pasted Audio attributes to the rest of them. Probably not as good as fixing each of them, but oh well 🤷♀ It still sounds ~200% better, though a bit quieter, and so when I go to apply background music, I hope it doesn't drown out the narration to much... 😬
@@TheModernFilmmaker Finally uploaded the video we've been discussing 😅 If you have time, I'd love to hear your reaction to maybe 15-30 seconds of it! And not to worry: most of it is in English (and subs are available throughout) 🤪
Very helpful video. A lot of filmmakers concentrate on video editing, and don't spend much time explaining the audio process. I learned some nice tricks today. Thanks for sharing, and consider doing more videos on this. An interesting video would be to explain the process of adding the music tracks as well, and blending them with the voice over. You did a great job on that video for your client. I subbed BTW
Wow, I’m just getting into DaVinci Resolve and just learning the ropes, but this video tells me that there’s a whole lot more knots to learn and make use of. Subscribing for more👍👍😄
Marcel! What an outstanding approach to EQ. Learned so much! Yes, please, did you do a video on enhancing audio with plug-ins, advanced techniques, etc.?
Touched on a lot and a couple techniques I appreciate.. would have appreciated some more explanation around the controls and their values you were adjusting in the Fairlight module though.
Followed this step by step - works!
Thanks for the comment my friend 🙏 glad to hear it worked for you 👊✌️
