Thank you so much for this video. As a European, these hinges have outwitted me on many occasions! I have watched many videos recently on how to adjust them and still struggled to understand the dark magic that powers them! No more though! Your video was clear and perfectly demonstrated. I'm off to sort out some new Ikea cabinets so that they look stylish and elegant instead of looking like they had been put together by a drunken uncle with motion sickness.
Thank you. This is the best and easiest to understand video on UA-cam on how to adjust those silly hinges. After a year of looking at my sagging cabinet door, it’s finally fixed. Much appreciated.
As a contractor, I have to work on these now and then. Half the time that I have to adjust one, someone in the past didn't know what he was doing and stripped the screws or else. Hopefully, your video will help to educate more people on the way they work. Good job !
Thank you so much! Selling soon, have a whole kitchen full of doors that have gone out in th past 7 years. My random fiddling did not help matters. This is gold!!!
The weight from the items in my German refrigerator door (which is screwed to an outer cabinet door) sagged the door and it was hitting the freezer door under it. Your video was exactly what I needed to fix it. Thank you.
Put up enough cabinets to where I should have known this. I always "assumed" that both of those screws had to be evenly tightened. I know they would help adjust the door but never knew what each screw's purpose was for. Thanks for this video!!!
Good information Shannon. I have similar hinges to the lower example of your mock up. I gave up trying to find a replacement. If possible, could you name a source for that type hinge?
Even though my hardware is somewhat different does give me insight into what's happening... problem is inside part of hinge is attached to a narrow wood frame inside the cabinet since it's a corner cabinet .. above a corner lazy Susan below my tile countertops. Hope that makes since ... maybe bottom screw hole/left screw on inside of hinge is stripped?? Again thx. UA-cam waynesville NC 🇺🇸 veteran
What do I do if the top of the cabinet door closes closer to the cabinet than the bottom of the door? When the cabinet door is “closed” you have to tap the bottom of the door for it to sit flush against the frame of the cabinet. Can I fix this?
Thank you for the reply. I decided to change out all the rubber stoppers on the cabinets and re-align them. I used the screws you mentioned to make the adjustments, but, it seems that a few of the doors themselves are just too warped top to bottom to line up completely. The majority of them worked! Thank you for the detailed video and the response to my comment.
Thanks for that but can you help me with my toilet that will run periodically during the day. The toilet is new as of 11/2020 when my water bill was 1600 from the toilet running. It is happening again and I don't know what to do about it.
Can you show how to fix a crooked door please? So many videos on here explaining what each screw does but none that say if your cabinet door is crooked it’s because of this screw. Now because I’ve done that much adjustment it’s worse and now rubbing off the one behind it 🙈🤦🏻♀️
What was wrong with the old fashioned hinges? I took all of my cabinets down to paint them. Most went up with no issues. But there’s a couple that absolutely will not align no matter what :(
I never understood why hinges (cabinets AND interior/exterior doors) in North America aren't adjustable. Things always sag after so many years or shrink/expand due to weather. The regular American mortised hinges are 100 year old tech. Sooo much easier to tighten a screw 1/4 turn vs shimming a hinge or worse adjusting the entire mortise
In Europe, they just call them hinges.
Thats very funny.
Best description on how to adjust these hinges on UA-cam! Thank you 😊

I'm keeping this video. I don't have those hinges in my home but seen them in other homes.
Thank you for this video.
Glad it was helpful!
This was incredibly timely. I just installed some cabinets from HD and they all needed tweaking. Thanks for explaining it simply.
Those hinges can be maddening! Good refresher. I gotta tweak a few on my kitchen cabs.
Go for it!
This was super helpful, I was so confused with these and was all flustered, but after this video I am in love with these hinges

Thank you so much, I needed this! Perfect explanation.
Extremely helpful. Just installed new cabinet in Landry room for cleaners and mop/bucket.
Trying to get doors to look right. Thanks much.

Thanks for doing this.
Best tip ever! Just fixed the droopy kitchen cabinet doors I have been looking at for months… Thank you!

This was very helpful… always something to learn. Your videos contain a lot of variety which I find useful as a cabinet hinge😂
Miss seeing this guy post new videos. Learn so much from him.
I have posted many new videos this year. Subscribe to get notified. You will love the new project I have started!
Fantastic thank you so much! I had never seen hinges like that, I had no idea how to adjust them
Thank you. 👍🏻
Thanks. My son tried to adjust and they are worse than ever. Watching this video, I believe I can adjust them myself.

Thanks for this video!!!
Excellent video
Thank you, right on time for me, I have a cabinet door in the kitchen that won't close all the way.
Thank you
Great job 👏
Thank you. easy to follow and very informative .!

That was very helpful for me. Thank you
Thank you so much !!! This is so helpful.
So useful, tnx bro
Good information Shannon.

try Blum and Richelieu are a couple of common brands in my area, but there are many different brands.
I hate these things 😂 this helps a lot, thank you
Please come fix mine! I just can’t get it right. 😕
I feel your pain, I’ve made mine worse 🙁
would these type of hinges be able to align a old warped kitchen cabinet. I have basic hinges and thinking of switching.
Not likely.

Sounds like your flapper needs replacing?
How do you adjust door when it don’t close its like it’s sprung? Does that mean hinge is shot? Like out couple of inches?
a couple inches with this style of hinge? Must be something wrong with hinge.
Thank you appreciated
Now I can fix my glass doors on my medicine cabinet. They have been out of wack for a year.
Good luck, thanks for being a 10 year subscriber!

I dont think you watched my entire video then.

You just said it. They are not as easily adjusted.
My hinges are causing my doors not to be centered to the face frame.

These cabinet hinges have been used in North America for years and years now as well.
@@HouseImprovements that I didn't deny, just wondering why it's not standard
@feinschmegga they are standard here in Canada
You are so handsome and so perfect as a how to host
Those hinges can be a pita.
Sounds like you had 100mph winds that day.
Yes the garage door was whistling that day.
Hate, hate, hate these things!!
