    ✨Thankfully I found this video after spending several frustrating hours trying to adjust 2 newly installed hinges on a bi-fold kitchen cabinet door.
    After all my searching, this IS definitely the BEST video!
    Thank you so much for posting. Your explanations, tips and demonstrations were so clear, concise and easy to follow.
    I am feeling very accomplished with my DIY, and the door is now positioned perfectly. ✨

    Great video. Would like to add that very often if the door is located next to a sink it will often fail to close because of corrosion of the hinge pivot points and spring. Check your other doors and see how much tension they close with. The problem hinges should have about the same amount of force as the others. If they don't, take the door off and spray the the pivot points and springs with wd 40 or electrical contact cleaner. Work the hinges back and forth until they easily snap open and shut. Should be good for another 10 years.

      That’s an awesome tip Vic. Well done mate, thanks for sharing it👌Kent

    • @iESCAP1SM
      @iESCAP1SM 10 місяців тому

      This seems to be my exact problem. Extending the hinges outwards as suggested in the video didn’t do the trick, and the problematic door is beneath the sink. I’ll try this next. Cheers to the both of you.
      Update edit:
      Sort of right. When I removed the door to inspect the hinges and flicked them a couple times it turned out a small part was coming loose at one of them, which prevented the shut. I removed the small part and increased the pressure of the upper hinge to compensate and it shuts again.

    Thank you! I've replaced most every hinge in our cabinets over the years, and always struggle with adjustment because the very brief instructions are in very brief Japanese (I live in Tokyo). With your info I will try to fix the one door that won't close properly -- this is the cabinet where my wife has stored 600 tons of cleaning supplies, and you do not ever want to open this door or you will spend an hour trying to put things back. :-)

    Your video sorted out my problem for a bathroom cabinet, and an IKEA cabinet. Thank you so much.
    The IKEA one now closes properly without scraping on the drawer below it, but is misaligned from that drawer by about 2 mm (giving my OCD a bit of a problem). The adjustments to shift left / right are at their limit. Whatever ... I'll just put it down to a flaw in the manufacture. I feel better if there's something to blame! 😂

    Thank you so much. I have this hinge. I have a corner cabinet the middle door won't close and rubbing against the next door. So my guess is I need to adjust both hinges so the door at the hinge is tighter to the cabinet

    • @InspireDIY
      @InspireDIY  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Jane, yes you are right, make sure ‘fixing screws’ are tight as these (2) doors can work loose under their weight, and then try adjusting the top hinge that connects first door to cabinet in towards the cabinet a little, and top hinge of 1st door to 2nd door closer together. It’s a little trial and error! Good luck 🤞 Kent

    I like how clear and simple you demonstrate which screws to adjust. Thank you. I'm actually in need of learning how to adjust a "push-to-open" left/right doors above stove. The doors won't grab the magnet anymore and pop back open. Can you help? Or do I need to replace them? Thx 😊

    I'd like to see how to adj a cabinet door that has 3 hinges... my issue: The bottom drags \ doesn't clear the threshold, leaving me to lift the door to close. This is the best video for a 2-door hinge scenario.

    Great video - Thank you! It was very concise and clear. I am having a hard time getting the cabinet door to raise and lower. I loosened all 4 of the screws but when I try to life the door up to adjust it won't move. Any suggestions?

    • @InspireDIY
      @InspireDIY  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Kerry, I'm not sure about that one🤷‍♂️, are the hinges stuck to the cabinet surface (to paint or glue)? maybe gently pry up the hinge with a flat screwdriver once screws are loose and see if they release. Please let me know what you figure out.. no doubt someone else will be having the same trouble too, thanks👍, Kent

    Thanks for the vdo, what is the middle screw for on the hinge?

    • @InspireDIY
      @InspireDIY  3 роки тому

      Hey Marco, the middle screw is to move the hinge laterally, so the door would move left or right within the cabinet space. best of luck, Kent
