For full-overlay doors on a cabinet with a face frame (like the ones in your video), should the reveal be the same on all four edges, especially the same on the top and bottom? Or, as I have seen in some examples, should the door be centered left and right, but have 0" (zero inches) reveal on the bottom edge? I am adjusting the doors on a cabinet over a microwave and I have some cabinets that are stacked, two and three high. Thx,
I have another way, not saying better but I thought I would collaborate. While door closed, look straight at the vertical hinge side to see if the top or bottom hinge needs adjustment to make the door edge flush with the frame. Usually it's the top hinge that needs to be adjusted to pull the door in order for it to be flush with the frame. Once the top and bottom are flush, you are done. It's rare that both hinges need adjustment unless you adjust by alternating looking at the horizontal and then the vertical. Stick with the vertical alignment and the horizontal will be done automatically. Again, usually the bottom is flush and only the top needs the tweak. I love to tweak.
Mine has these double screws that affix the hinge to the cab. With this little cup area that seats into the arm. The instructions said I have do loosen them all? It looks like you hit the “horizontal” screw but still lifted it 🤔 “not all hinges are created equal” indeed
I added shakers to my flat cabinets, and now the doors like scratch as they open. Any advice? Should I get new hinges? Or do I need to make my cabinet doors thinner?
My hinge side on the face of the door when it is closed is pushed out further than the hinge side of the cabinet net to it. I have adjust the screws and it won't get any closer. Would I have to reposition the adjustment bracket attached to the cabinet side to get the gap closer. Not sure if my question is making sense.
It's easy enough to tighten the vertical adjustment screws. The problem is they come loose in a matter of days. Is there a trick to making them tighter?
If the screws are coming loose its typically a "stripped" screw situation to which there are a couple solutions. The easiest way is typically to get a slightly longer or thicker screw. The other way is to get small pieces of wood, such as a toothpick and stuff it in the hole with some wood glue and then add the screw. I'm sure there are good videos out there for screws stripped in wood.
Yeah. We are not cabinet ou installers. I still dont understand. I have 2 aligned doors that overlap. They are also adjusted all the way back. How do I fix this?
Better late then never but if both are wound all the way back and it still overlaps I think the doors are too big for the cabinet I wouldnt suggest cutting the door as it never leaves a good finish I'd instead replace with a suitable size door which should be 6mm smaller then the cabinet
this is only when the door is already closed and the only misalignment. what about when the door doesn't close completely and pops out? I tried adjusting the level and angle and still doesn't close. it's very tight.
I spent hours trying to figure this out on my own. Thank goodness I found this walkthrough! Simple and easy! ❤
Where have you been all my life?! 😂 This is perfection! 😍
Thanks so much! Have a great weekend!
Thanks hope this work with the hinges that I got on the doors in the bathroom cabinet.
Can you do a video where you explain, in close-up, what is the function of each part that makes up the hinge?

Great presentation!
Wow! This was super-easy. Thank you so much!
Turns out that my hinges don't have these adjustments, which is what the trouble was. This helped clarify the issue.
How do you adjust old style hinges.
I'm thinking change these old hinges??
In my cabinet, there's a gap inbetween (the middle) of the left and right doors. what do i have to do to close that gap?

Thx,
Good tutorial, very precise
Wow. That was a lot of info at once. Ima just grab my screwdriver and get to it 😂

what i dont have all those adjustments on my hinges? they just have the mounting points..
This actually works and it was so easy I am still gloating
Glad it helped!

Who knew ..will give this a go!

Me too 🤦🏼♀️
Same

Lol he makes it look very easy 👍🏼
my door falls after adjusting the screw. damn what should I do

Thank you Sir.
You are most welcome
Is it possible to adjust non-Euro hinges?
These are not euro hinges.
doesn't xzoom in on which screw to unscrew so basically yuselessa
Thank you.
Thank you
Informative but there is room for improvement with the camera. Could have zoomed in when adjusting screws
What can I say. I'm a carpenter not a videographer.
Would be much better if the camera person actually zoomed in when he made adjustments so we can actually see what screw is being adjusted 🙄
For me the whole hinges are off
Not a video on how to adjust cabinet doors. Just a video how to adjust those particular hinges
That’s a 3D chess set until you get some practice ..
Need a close up of what your doing inside the cabinet.
im still confused
Bruv what cheap company uses those crappy kind of hinges?!?
Sorry - no idea which screw you are adjusting, so unfortunately the video is pointless.
Sorry it didn't help, we are just a couple of carpenters with an iphone, not profession videographers.
You’re not showing which screw you are screwing for each adjustment. Zoom in!
Not a great deal of information in this video - with a 1 case scenario...I still feel uninformed...
Thank you so much..
