Do you want to see something amazing with no screw-ups in the guitar again do Pink Floyd and their 1989 live version of "On The Turning Away" from their momentary lapse of Reason tour! More live Greatness! Or the live version of Comfortably Numb from this 94 Pulse concert!!!
best band of all times 😎👍 next one from Pink Floyd - On the Turning Away ( live to the delicate sound of thunder concert . 1988 i think ) good week-end to you both 😎👍
This is a great version of a classic song. They played Earls Court for 14 nights in 1994 and I was lucky enough to be there the night before this one was filmed. Their concerts were always superb with a full quad/surround PA that was deafeningly loud but always crystal clear. Shine On You Crazy Diamond from the same show is brilliant too, they used it to open the show that I saw.
The best thing about this being live is seeing how David Gilmour sings in unison with his acoustic guitar. Love to see people's faces when they see it for the first time.
Tutta la folla del concerto stava cantando WISH YOU WERE HERE perché è come un Inno Nazionale dei fans dei Pink Floyd. Qui si sente poco ma nel disco PULSE si sente benissimo la folla che canta.
Everyone in the audience knows every note & one note out will be noticed. There again everyone will forget that rare bad note moments later, when every note is being played perfectly again. I think the great love i & we all feel for Pink Floyd & David Gilmour soon forgives any slight mistakes. Pink Floyd are a global phenomenon, l personally have followed the band since i was 12 yrs old (57 now). I thank the Universe that i was there at Earls court to watch this event, thirteenth row from the front & sat next to my younger brother. It was the concert of all concerts, not only because it was an amazing gig but because it was the one & only, the great Pink Floyd. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Ohh my my my .. when the acoustic chimed in .. goose bumps .. when he started singing .. goose bumps again. Been too long since I've watched the performance of this track. I absolutely love the fact that Gilmour is singing the guitar notes. I started doing that in my late teens .. aggravated the hell outta my then hubby. Esp when his best friend came over & we'd both do it with a lot of the Stones hits. I gotta say my then hubby didn't really respect rock-n-roll the same way we did either. The aggravation turned out to be so much fun. LOL Thnx Ethan & Lare for the great memory flashbacks & awesome reactions to this live. Have a great weekend❣️😊
I must confess I enjoyed the 'are-my-headphones-working' shenanigans, knowing when the stereo kicks in🙂. For the max effect though, it's best to listen to this with the preceding song, Have A Cigar. The transition is brilliant. In another video, I recall someone sent you Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Man, that's a lifetime favourite. Have you listened to it yet?.
Here is a recommendation list of live performances: Visions of Atlantis - Melancholy Angel (Live) (Wacken) Within Temptation Ft. Tarja - Paradise Live at Hellfest Festival (2016) Triumph - Fight The Good Fight US Festival LIVE 1983 Lovebites - The Awakening The Hammer Of Wrath Live ALDIOUS- Spirit Black Live (Eng/Esp sub) BRIDEAR - IGNITE (LOUD PARK 2023, Tokyo, March 26th) Raglaia - Forlorn? (Live) Volbeat - The Devil's Bleeding Crown - Live at Tusindarsskoven, Odense 2015 Helloween - How Many Tears (Live in Wacken, 2018, United Alive) Iron Maiden - Dance Of Death - En Vivo! Frank Marino - Live at the Agora Theatre - Something's Comin' Our Way Eric Johnson - Cliffs Of Dover - Live (6:12 min) Scorpions - Always Somewhere (Old Grey Whistle Test, 22th May 1979) Judas Priest - Dreamer Deceiver / Deceiver (BBC Performance) Metallica - Creeping Death Live Moscow 1991 HD Steve Vai - For the Love of God (Live In Concert) (7:46 min) The Warning - Disciple (Live at Teatro Metropolitan)
When you said you couldn't believe it was over, you were right, it wasn't! This was the first part of the encore - hence the enthusiasm of the audience - and it was followed by Comfortably Numb with Run Like Hell as the explosive finale. You could really believe it was over then because there was no way to follow it!
Apparently Dave Gilmour gave up smoking, cold turkey, the day after hearing the audio playback of the studio recording of this song, because he could hear himself cough during the intro. So they do screw up, but Dave at least is prepared to make any sacrifice to fix it.
@@davemac1197 Cat kept it in good shape. My flight yesterday was delayed 2 hours due to storms. Then when it did take off, it was still storming and the pilot did some maneuvers that had everyone gasping in fear. I swear he tipped the plane so low you could touch a roof. And you should see my ankles. Some bugs made a meal out them. 😯
@@cherylreichardt - was the onboard movie Flight (2012) or Cast Away (2000)? I have no words about your ankles. Back in the day, it wasn't done to see a woman's ankles. Too much!

Like totally gnarly man. Without Pink Floyd recreational drug usage would probably be at least a quarter less than it has been in the last 40 years, lol Can't recommend more Floyd guys, my stash is already low.
Actually, there isn't much live stuff available when Pink Floyd was at their best. Of course, I am talking about when Syd Barrett was in the band. I did find Interstellar Overdrive live in Stockholm. ua-cam.com/video/15quQUN4cfg/v-deo.html
What, one album and 2 singles was their best? PF became what it is today because of Gilmour, Wright and Waters. Syd's type of music would never have made PF what it is today. It would have fallen into the dustbin of history, like many others.
I saw only one screw up by PF. Guitar was so bad out of tune that David had to stop, retune and start over. Mainly because he didn’t have all of the players involved like Pulse and the big tours. it was a basic one-off concert in South America.
Timeless classic......an absolute masterpiece. Like nearly all of Pink Floyd's music🤟👏👏👏👏
You’re very right Mark -Ethan

Hi Cheryl! Yes, it was.
Yes they are pretty genuinely great live. Their light shows are always trippy too.

Please react to High Hopes from Pink Floyd live from their Pulse concert. Such a masterpiece and the meaning of this song is so relatable. Peace!
I'm not a huge Pink Floyd fan but I do love this song.
COULD BE LOUDER LOL THEY ARE PERFECTION !!!!
Can't believe that Larry actually likes a Progressive Rock Band. I love it! ✌️
Yep! His favorite progressive rock band I’m pretty sure -Ethan
My three fave bands in my life has been Pink Floyd, Rush & Queen. All prog rock/metal & all three groups made up of masterful genius musicians. 🇬🇧
