Dude, I have spent the best part of 3 hours trying to find a tutorial like this, straight to the point, simple to follow and produces results, thank you my man, subscribed!
Perfect example of why someone (I) need to do this: The art for my project is someone else's. Drawing is not at all in my wheelhouse, GNU editing software like GIMP etc, is. I can tweak existing source material to better prepare it for meshes, but won't be contributing any original line-art.
Literally watched a guy draw all of his flesh parts before moving it to photo shop to do art on. Thought it was cool technique but this is so much easier for simple things.
jaajaaj, I really don't understand why you say it's not useful, literally with this you can do an infinite number of things, such as adding shirt stickers made in Photoshop to blender, car design, etc. But very good tutorial and sorry if I wrote something wrong, I did the translation through Google Translate🤘
bro this is amazing, is my idea or with photoshop could you apply hyper realistic textures and take them to blender? It would only be necessary to create the roughness map and the normal map 🙌🙂
This is cool. I am going to try it with Krita (I love the brushes)

Awesome. I can think of a few use cases for this. Editing different parts of an existing asset store 3d model seems like it would be easier this way.
Thank you so much for this. Straightfoward and to the point. Not pointless at all!

Now I feel dumb. I needed to do this the other day so I just drew an outline of the UV map in blender and saved it lol.
when i tried i screenshotted the image 💀

why don't I have the option for Export UV Layout? I open up the exact menu but there's nothing under the "reset" option
I too have been going crazy about this. Do a search for UV in Addons in Preferences. Solved.
Excelent, Thank you!@@paullovett4663
This is incredible tutorial! Could you share a real-world project where this method was a game-changer in your workflow?
Great tutorial! Exporting UV layouts is such an essential skill for 3D artists can make this a must watch video.
Love this guide! This tutorial is extremely helpful.
whenever i export the UV layout, the entire thing is just transparent and there's no lines at all, yet i can see them in the UV tab in blender
@@FusionTrain you need to highlight them before you click export
Why doesn't the UV export with the material colors though? It comes out black and white and the material info is lost.
Thanks
Thnx for making this video
Good tutorial!
