8:21 The bed is actually MADE of composite plastic and extremely durable. It's not a drop-in bed liner 👍 11:35 There is more to it--the hidden cubby under the seat isn't only on the driver's side. You can lift the passenger's side of the 60/40 seat and there's even a larger cubby over there
Thanks for jumping in, and you’re right - I should’ve been more clear about the bed situation. What I was trying to express is that it’s plastic *like* a drop-in liner, so you can’t use a spray-in bed liner. And I’ll have to plead ignorance about the other side of the seat, as I couldn’t get that side to lift, nor could my camera guy. Thanks for watching!
Love my 8 month old TRD Sport DCLB 4X4 Auto. I was finally able to take it on a long 6 hr road trip to the cabin there and back through the numerous mountain passes here in British Columbia. Truck did not disappoint. Used the sport mode to hold RPM while climbing steep grades. Also, being able to gear down to use engine breaking was a pleasure and engaging through these steep mountain grades. Whereas city driving it’s a little pokey in the default economy mode where the transmission is constantly trying to up shift too quickly to keep you at 1000 rpm. I also drove it hard for the first time around sharp corners through the mountains and the sport suspension was amazing for a truck. I was quite surprised at how planted it stayed on the road for a 4X4 body on frame truck. I also really love the Dynamic Radar Cruse Control on flat straight highway driving once I figured out how to use it. I set it for 110km/h and just followed the car ahead of me in the slow lane and enjoyed my coffee. I also really love the Satellite service when there is no radio service. Once the 3 month trial was up I thought I would never subscribe. Took advantage of the $5 a month plan for one year before I left and was very pleased with having a great selection of music to keep me company on the long trip. This is my second Toyota Truck. Had a brand new one in 1992 and owned it for 14 years. Hope to keep this one even longer.
The cheap plastics are more durable (or at least feel like it) than more expensive materials. Toyota is selling this truck to people who prefer the old school "it just works" Tacoma. Hence why it still has a handbrake and optional manual.
Michael, buy yourself a set of Sokietech carbon fiber hood struts from Amazon. No drilling, take 30 minutes to fit, $94, well worth the money, and does away with the hassle of lifting the hood.
@@TheJoshuaborden might as well get an off road. Probably close to the same price for almost the same vehicle, BUT with a locker and the option for a manual.
The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison is undoubtedly a capable truck, but that's one specific trim; the Tacoma in general is a more capable off-roader across its lineup than the Colorado. Thanks for watching!
Got the army green my Tacoma 4wd double cab brother, congrats from Colorado 🇺🇸.
I work pipiline and always in mud love my 2021 TRD off road
This truck will never die!!

Really like this Trail trim.

💯 % agree , Best truck!
Love mine why the hell the hood so heavy
love your humour Dan!!!
60k is nothing. Geez my truck is 109k but it does have twice the room and 3 times the power so it makes sense.
👍🏻

That's why the last gen Frontier was great. Basic and not $40-50k. C'mon Tacoma. This price is crazy.
The last gen frontier is shit and it’s 2022 now. Still $30k less than a fullsized truck.
Love this goofy Canadian accent
I thought the new 2021 Trail edition did come with a locking rear diff?
Don't think so... it's basically a dressed up SR5.

Do you know if it has skid plates from the factory SR5 with that trim?
He is too big for the truck. Look at the top of his head!
Chevy bizion is better off road

I believe the Chevy Colorado across its line up is evenly matched with Toyota
If you love rust buy a Chevy
@@michaeltrowbridge7174 just like Toyota had to replace rusted truck frames ??
Tacoma is the best midsize truck out there!!
