Might've been leftover from before it all actually happened. Jesus, this made me realize that Freeman has literally been conscious for a week straight in his own time stream. I guess minus the cat naps he's taken, but still. Damn.
It's not just a crazy voice as a secretly cheating godmode character runs around. Look at the way he behaves when playing through. When swimming, he doesn't get a single shot on the soldiers, only to turn it around once he gets on solid ground. When he helicopter's shooting at him, he actively makes an effort to get behind cover to avoid being shot at at all. When he's caught on the monster tentacle, he looks up as he's choking, and then stumbles around for a bit before using a (presumably shortcutted) console command just to make him puking believable.
This dude's got some pretty amazing 'acting' skills with how Gordon behaves.
It's almost as if thats the point.
That's what makes Ross Scott's stuff better than most of the imitators. The only other person to achieve the same level of believability I've seen is 101Phase who does Courier's Mind. And it's also what makes doing this sort of thing look so fun. It's a challenge; how do you effectively present this that I can actually believe he's going through the experiences? None of the others apart from 101Phase have done it. Not Shepard's Mind, not Barney's Mind, not Chell's Mind... none of them.

@@49mozzer Well the concept of machinima's have kinda died off as let's plays have become the norm. A lot of people who have only ever seen a let's play would be quite impressed by this I imagine.
Hell... in a way, Ross invented the lets play.
Knowing we have Freeman's Mind 2 for at least a few years makes the wait for Half-Life 3 more bearable. I love Ross.

Good Lord. If Doctor Freeman actually *looks up* to Kleiner, what manner of monster must Kleiner be?
The man runs a high-tech laboratory in the basement of a train station run by the Ministry of Love, dresses like he doesn't even care that he could get caught & the fact that he keeps a neutered brain parasite as a pet, I'd say he's both got more balls & is smarter than Freeman, since Kleiner's not the one running around getting shot at or being a human guinea pig for the teleport. Not to mention what he did to that cat.

Kleiner? Don't think he stopped only on threats. Remember big green glowing pool of radioactive waste at the very very beginning? I think we all know who did this.
And you know what most terrifying? Kleiner wears necktie.

Ross's Gordon has that super advantegous trait called "developed back muscles". Why mess with puzzles when you can just do a pull-up?
I wish almost every FPS character has that. That means climbing up ledges and moving to higher position would be easy AF.
You can actually skip the puzzle in a similar way without noclip too, you just have to stack 4 cinderblocks on top of each other and jump on them

One thing I love about Ross and this series is the way he tries rationally explain certain gameplay tropes. Like in any game, we're used to enemies swarming us every five seconds, but Freeman would assume "Oh they must have heard my gunshots", and so on.
Small things like that add to the immersion and I just love it :D

Whenever I see Ross release a new video, I'm still amazed just how consistently brilliant they are. Every single one.
I particularly like how this Gordon has no patience for physics puzzles. He's a physicist. He doesn't do puzzles, he does tests. and he gets As on those tests. Unless he's drunk, then it's a B+.

That's essentially what happened to me as I do enjoy those videos. Which, is a good thing as he could outright drop the Freeman's Mind series in favor for more Game Dungeon and I'd be okay with it. Well... I'd be sad about having no more Freeman's Mind but that's it. I can over that in time.

if you ever played garrysmod you know there are effects like that tied into the emmiters tool that come default with the game,essentially linking the effect animation to a button press,he probably just found the specific line of code for that effect,put a keybind on it for it be played,aimed at the ground and bam

This makes me so excited to see how Freeman will react to certain things that are yet to come in the future. Like the Vortigaunts giving him praise, Father Grigori and the rest of Ravenholm, being shamed on the Breencast (I bet he'll explode once he hears "Gordon Freeman is a theoretical physicist who hardly earned the distinction of his PhD!), finding Bugbait and actually being able to use it to control the aliens (if he goes through with it without just skipping it), and I know I'm thinking way too far ahead here, but I can't help but wonder how he'll react to Doctor Magnusson in HL2:EP2.... So much to look forward to!
The beauty of Freeman's Mind is that you pretty much have to watch the earlier episodes every time a new one comes out so you know where it left off.

I've always appreciated "Freeman's Mind" Gordon's ability to do A Single Pull-Up. So many shoulder-height ledges and fences bypassed like a normal person.

Speaking of incompetence or malice, i've noticed that in almost every single scenario involving people other than himself freeman always determines the main cause behind unexplainable actions to be one of those two principles.
I'm so happy that this series is continuing, it's been a part of my life for years now. Thanks, Ross. Take as long as you need, I'll be glad whenever these come out.

I'm surprised Ross didn't make Gordon notice the fact when the flaming barrels are dropped in the water it is sumbersed fully in water but when it floats back up to the surface it's STILL on fire.

I think you actually might be right! I think the goo on the ground is something that can be done in game through the console but the stream looks like it's from Postal.
Maybe the stain is done with a spray. Instead of default HL logo.

I want to say there's the possibility of that a 'vomit' weapon exists as a mod for Garry's Mod. Again, that's assuming he recorded this in Garry's Mod.
Techhunter Talon nah, he records this using the sdk demo software within half life 2 -- alongside occasional modifications to make it more cinematic.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't do Garry's mod. I think he did some tinkering backstage and placed an env_emitter/decal on the map beforehand. If that's true, I give him props for knowing exactly where it was.
