It’s always been my belief that the final test/game in the first season was between 001 and Gi-Hun when they wagered whether somebody would help the dying man by midnight or not. That was the point at which Gi-Hun was corrupted. All he had to do was go and help the man to win. Instead, he acted just like the VIP’s and wagered whether a man would live or die when it was completely in his power to not participate, and to help the man. In his mind he “won” that wager, but in the end he ended up losing himself. As soon as he made the wager (whether the man lived, or died) he lost, and the old man knew this all along. Its one of the main reasons I have always thought that first season was so brilliant
Finally, a rational take on Season 2. lol...some of the other reviewers sound nuts when screaming about how the ending is horrendous. No, that's not the end. Just part one.
IKR at this point I am wondering if the obsession and greed for clicks and likes has gone to so many of their heads or if they are actually that slow. Or they are doing it as rage bait to get more views. Very Squidy behaviour lol

@@tyrondacoleman2694 Season 3 is basically Season part 2...Idk why they chose to call it season 3 instead of just admitting they split the season in 2 parts...Maybe it was a last minute decision because of Beast Games and they didn't want that week to week release take away attention from the show....so to counter act that...they split the season which brought more interest, curiousity anger and even confusion to the discussion of the show...hence more attention lol ..thats just what I think.

However, your perspective-that she might willingly sacrifice herself so Player 246 can reunite with his daughter-is an excellent take. The most predictable outcome is that In-ho will sacrifice himself for Jun-ho. If Gi-hun doesn’t survive, I think he’ll leave behind a will ensuring his daughter can live debt-free. Lastly, Player 222, the pregnant woman, will either be the sole survivor or one of the remaining survivors if Jun-ho’s team successfully infiltrates the Squid Game compound. With her unborn child, she symbolizes hope, renewal, and rebirth.
THANK YOU so much for this review and breakdown. I think a lot of people are missing the real mind game that is going on because they just want the shock factor the first Squid Games brought. There is a portrayal of society and its hypocrisy being played out between 001 and 456.

Great authentic review. One of the only good ones. The reason why it’s not getting great reviews especially for the last episode is like you said because people want a resolution. They can’t handle the fact that they have to wait 6 months to a year for the final season even though this was communicated prior to the release of season 2. For those people the message is simple, if you can’t be patient and must binge everything, wait for season 3 to come out then watch it all together. That way I can almost guarantee that there wouldn’t be a single complaint and those IMDb ratings would be on par with season 1 if not better. It was really interesting to see how things played out and season 3 can go many ways. They can give us a backstory into guard number 11, they can tell us the story when 001 won squid games in 2015 (which is what I think the last scene of the doll was foreshadowing), and show what happens when they find out the captain was wasting their time for 3 years and what will happen when the brothers finally meet again. Season 2 opened the door to so many possibilities that season 1 didn’t. In my opinion it’s at least on par if not better.
I feel the show almost more about the organ harvesting then the games, i only watched once but i think organ removal for money was mentioned ever episode.
What I am very interested is how dark Season 3 will actually be. I noticed 001 joked about the pregnant players child being counted as a player. If she goes into labour during the games...will they make that child a new player or will that be a breach in the rules O.O . Because on technicality alone..the first room she went in during Mingle should have been shot up lol. Or will that be what starts 001 redemption arc (even though based the things he has done idk why we need it he should own up to the consequences for his actions too just like The Recruiter)
