I love how ammo played a major part in the battle. So many movies and shows pretend that ammo is infinite but this show really made it feel like every bullet mattered
@@Kloyzom I agree regarding the realistic aspect and importance of ammo in the finale, but I viewed the finale rather as extremely unrealistic. Throughout the exchanges they had, with the gaurds and contestants shooting at one another, you can notice that all the bullets of the gaurds did not scrape a single contestant, while the contestants aim was simply spotless.
I feel like the front man was always acting. Everything he did was to challenge Gi-Hun’s morals, help facilitate Gi Hun’s rebellion and crush it. He said it at the start of the season, he wants to let Gi-Hun play out his hero fantasy and break his spirit at the end.
Exactly. I disagree with this video. I don’t think this was him showing his true personality. I think he was methodical with every facial expression and every word spoken. All a manipulation tactic. I think he’s a true evil genius/psychopath. Everything was fake.
I disagree. I think the front man chose to join the games after he saw how the main character was able to lead and save a lot of people. I think he was buying into the main characters philosophy, if you will, and got disappointed in the end when he (the main character) decided to sacrifice people to satisfy his agenda. I think at that moment the front man knew the main character was a hypocrite and not that much better than the rich men who fund the games. And that is why he left the competition.
It's cool we got more from him and the recruiter, to know a bit about their motives, the latter was a bit of a psycho and the front man's world view was turned upside down by grief, both believed they are right in what they do and how they do it, that makes for an interesting antagonist
The Cop telling Gi-Hun that he never saw the Masked Man’s face really screwed Gi-Hun and co. at the end. I will say that their plan was foolish anyway since they didn’t have the numbers.
@@Dragonborn1178 Plot convenience, and also because the front man is his brother so I guess he felt weird about telling Gi-Hun or maybe he had different reason that we’ll find out in the next season.
I’m pretty sure it’s because he still doesn’t except the fact his brother does this for a living since when gi hun tells him about who the front man is jun ho looks down either he’s still coming to terms with the idea of it. But that’s just a theory
Hey Paul, small correction - the cop was not demoted to traffic - he talks how he deliberately chose traffic because it's clear cut, no gray area. He talked about the disappointment of nobody believing him about the island. And also gives him more time (to search for the island).
There seemed to be two layers to this, his superior wanted him back in major crimes and was going out to bat for him, however his superiors boss wanted him to be fired after the island two years ago and resisted letting him stay on in traffic. He also overruled the superiors changing his resignation letter to a leave request and fired him after he went AWOL for not dropping it.
If I had a nickel for every time Gi-hun was overly trusting of an infiltrator playing as the number 001, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice (Also I really enjoyed this season) :)
You said it only because you already knew it. The smart person would've thought "hey, 001 was a traitor at the last time, they wouldn't do that twice to me, it's stupid".
I want to point out, many of you are stating that many of the deaths felt meaningless and emotionless. I believe it could have been intentional, we see that the main focus from our main character was to end the games unlike the last season where it was to survive. This change of mindset leaves less room for emotional connection to characters since our protagonist isn’t focused solely on relationships but on the vengeance of the relationship he had lost. Last season the ideology to survive meant that he needed to find players that would support him and possibly build alliances with him, now he still builds relationships but the focus has completely changed.
As a cultural context, that meal-kimbap (rice wrapped in seaweed, similar to sushi but without fish)-is typically eaten quickly with your hands, much like snacking on a bag of crisps. The inclusion of a fork is unusual and deliberate, making it stand out as a strange choice. This is why Player 456 immediately realises that the fork wasn’t provided for eating but rather as a tool to provoke fights and create entertainment for those watching.
This is really interesting and I don't think many outside of Korea would catch this. Thank you. Sounds like it would be similar to server a hotdog with a fork.
I noticed that too. But if you've ever eaten a sushi roll I'd think you'd pick up on what the fork was for. Hell I'm from Oklahoma and I clocked that one immediately
I still think his plan to revolt was kinda stupid.. 15 people? Even all of them combined practically wouldn’t have stand a chance. I kinda agree with 001, Attacking the blue first would have been a better idea imo for all of them to survive.
Ryt when he was saying that I thought how are they gonna fight against these tons of guards i thought may be writer will make them win somehow but not happened
Tbh Gi-Hun is not that much of a smart character when you think about it. I predicted months ago that their revolt would fail and that the ending would shock everyone and yet no one believe me. I see have my comment on the trailer that has like 8 likes and i predicted all of this in my comment.
Yeah, I believe the brothers are protecting each other. The cop isn't telling people that his brother is the front man, and the front man sent the boat guy to rescue and distract his brother.
Season 3 is recorded and is coming out in 2025 but they haven't said when. I personally think that's a Netflix decision to split it up but instead of dropping two halves of a season six months apart which they've learned people hate they think it will work better by calling them different seasons. It is either that or the story got too long for even the creator to call it just one. It really feels like a mid point and not the end of something, even if it is a kind of bridging season.
When leading up to season 2 release they said season 2 had the same number of episodes as season 1, so that means there should be a few more episodes left in season 2
Honestly I don’t think Player 246 is dead. We didn’t see his dead body like we did with everyone else and I don’t think they would end his story like that considering that mini plot with that pink soldier woman looking over him. As a matter of fact she was probably the one that shot him but in a non vital area.
yeah she has usually been doing clear kill shots on everyone else despite being told to stop so they can continue with the harvesting. I wonder if maybe she shot him that way so he'll be taken as a donor and then plans to do something. That or she really did shoot him dead showing she is that hardened person who doesn't care at all... I just don't know where they'd go with that. Actually if she did kill him but in a way to allow to organ harvesters to get him maybe she'll get them to take his bone marrow for his daughter (her assuming they are compatible).
I agree.. he definitely lived. If he had died, they would've panned on him afterwards, which they didn't. They are probably going to try and savor him for his organs since he is alive and soldier woman will save him somehow.
I feel like Gi-Hun was surely smarter than to fall for 001. He spent years searching and researching, I feel like he would have expected and predicted things better, from that and his games.
@@xavierp8587 no what i mean was if the "creator" were smart enough they wouldn't put one doll behind just because they can't see from behind. If they were all lined up like we saw in s2 all the players had to do is the last person on the line don't move and everything is fine. However, if they put one doll on the side even if they line up together and hide behind someone's back and move around while it's red light they will still get hit which makes it even interesting.
No it's definitely not that simple. They aren't trying to kill everyone in one go for the show, so they give more freedom like communicating behind their backs. It's probably something more strategic now. Or just a random cameo
Soldier 11 never spared player 246. Player 246 never moved during red light green light she just saw him and realised who he was. If he did move and she didn't shoot someone else would've shot regardless
The 2 biggest disappointments are the cop not realizing after 2 years the captain must be hiding the island(columbus found america faster) and gi hun not realizing player 1 is always the guy
@@cherubzbabythe whole point is that the games are simple, I’m also a little annoyed with the cliffhanger but I wouldn’t say that stuff left unfinished is bad writing or anything
Yeah I can suspend disbelief a little but cmon the Captain found you unconscious in the water...how far do you think your lifeless bleeding body floated bruh...on day three I would have been like man drip me back.off where you found me wherever I can swim to is the island. After 2 weeks I would have been like ok so you work for the rich sickos huh
For those who's saying Gi-hun should've been able to detect that 001 is the mole. 001 pretended in such a great way to gain their trust. Also, he saved Gi-hun multiple times and the situation was so intense Gi-hun couldn't have think that he's the mole as there was gun fires & a risky situation so obviously he trusted him in the end.
Same situation as season 1. The audience did not know about Il-nam, and Gi-hun did not either. If the audience did not know the front-man's identity in season 2, we would not be calling Gi-hun out like this.
1 was literally acting like he had no clue what to do which lead him up to the betrayal. I forgot 1 was even the leader of the games until episode 3 that’s when I realized we hadn’t seen the guy with the panther mask in forever that’s when it freaking clicked that it was him I’m bad at paying attention to details, but that’s when I knew they were screwed in the end.
Gi-hun even witnessed 001 kill some of the pink soldiers. That surely made Gi-hun trust him more because he believed that even the front man wouldn't gun down his own guys. Seems he was wrong though.
Gi-hun expressing concern and doubt when the frontman changes his name from hwang in ho to suddenly oh young il, i couldn't understand why he would trust 001 beyond that point. Shows how gi hun hasnt changed much and makes foolish decisions without proper strategy. He is just a traumatized version of his old self and hasnt learned much.
I liked S2 but going back to the island and games was very on task for Gi Hun. He is a little smarter in this season but overall still not enough to outsmart anyone. Hell in S2 there were times that I was wondering is he actually trying to save everyone? Because for long periods he was not saying much of anything.
@LOTRFan295 He did that too because the soldiers aren't supposed to expose their faces like that it's against their rules. So front man shot him as punishment for breaking protocol, which also acted as a way for front man to gain their trust too.
Yeah. If their system has a number told to a sniper, surely they would follow it up later to be a confirmed elimination - and not just let the sniper decide the contestants fate on their own.
@@Ethereal_GhostThis happens in other games. A voice comes in their earpiece and says “Player [number]” and that’s their queue to eliminate them. Agree that I don’t think the guards decide themselves who to shoot.
You missed an important detail: the captain also saved the detective. It's possible that the front man spoke to the captain to help find his brother after shooting him in the first series, which could explain why the captain was also involved.
nonsense, you didn't watch the video. Actually the detail he missed is just how generous the captain has been, he didn't seem to get compensated for fuel. I'm assuming looking for islands what is it once a week? For how long? was out of charity and goodness of his heart? They tried to make it look like oh he just needed the company, but it's just not believable.
My theory is the Captain was working with the rogue organ smugglers. When they snuck off the island in diving suits they were going to his boat and that was why he was nearby.
Don't worry guys, they already confirmed S3 is due to 2025, the reason why it took them years to make this season is because they been working on S3 at the same time, so people will not have to wait that long to see the sequel like we did with S2
I still think that you shouldn’t release a season without any feeling of conclusion. There was lack of build up to the revolt, so it was underwhelming.
Did anyone else realise pretty much instantly that the captain was part of The Games? I feel like it was a poorly hidden plot line that I saw coming from his introduction.
That last strategy from gi hun😂😂 he doesn't want to kill enemy team but he let his team die for his own sake😂😂 and I see the strategy to rebel against the pink army bit unrealistic because you don't know where you are, the number of enemies, and also the fighters are only a few. that's why I think the war is very unrealistic and poorly executed.
And how Gi-hun was saying his plan was a small sacrifice for the greater good, basically the "lesser evil". When really the lesser evil would have been to kill the Os and protect his people. They still could have played dead after that. If he didn't let so many Xs die, he could have had more people to join his cause. The Os definitely wouldn't have joined him. By hiding under the bed, Gi-hun lost both the majority vote and extra firepower.
I also don’t understand at all how so many of the participants were convinced to join Gi Hun in the revolt. The whole reason they were there was to deal with their debts or settle an outstanding balance, and a revolt would have completely ruined any chance of achieving that goal
I think that was intentional. They probably knew about the knife and necklace but allowed it to make the games more interesting. Allowing the chip would have been self-sabotage as their location would have been compromised.
@@ryanmadej6694 True, but wouldn't that go against their own rules of everyone being equal during the games? As in no extra tools or any upper hand given to the players, so they all have a fair chance of winning like in season 1 explained by the head master.
@@elwiii don’t think drugs or a hair knife would be a big of a deal, like would they really gain the upper hand with those items? after all players get weapons aswell and drugs….are just drugs.
@johnwickwithablackman5564 Yeah, I have to agree with u! After all, they made it more interesting to watch, I'm still curious about what the granny will do with the hair knife.🤔
for me, red and blue lines represented more of south and north Korea. One colonizer with guns that divided previously united group. One assassin that was waiting for the gun magazine, realizing that they left with only one bullet and no help, reminded me Korean rebellion team refusing to be captured by Japanese occupation.
@@culinarynerdkinda relate to your point, but with the success of 1st season and origin of Netflix kinda understand where reasoning of the author about US elections is coming from😅
The story Il Nam/001 (front man) told was made up or at least a past story. We, the audience already know, that his wife died. The front man’s brother visited her grave. I can’t be the only one who remember this
It was still a real story he just told it in the present instead of the past but it was something that really happened to him and his tears for his wife were real so it made him relatable for the MC
Gi Hun is not smart. He was trying to take on an incredibly powerful and rich organization all alone. And even every time he gains allies, he is still terribly outnumbered and fails each time. I commend him for trying but his attempts seem ultimately futile.
Yes, that’s how his character is portrayed. In the first season, we learn that he struggled academically, especially compared to his friend, who attended a prestigious university in Seoul. He works as a chauffeur, driving people’s cars when they’re too drunk to drive-a common job in Seoul for those without formal qualifications. That said, I don’t believe that underperforming in school is a true measure of intelligence. His character serves as a representation of the “ordinary people.”
Gi-hun's little plan was making me laugh my ass off the whole episode lmao. he went up with like 11 people as if they didnt a whole ass army up there. And i died when the "nail in the coffin" was him handing the magazine to the front man as if that was gonna matter. He hid under the bed sheets and allowed most the people that wanted to leave to diee, just for his little revolt lmao
Gi hun not having any ounce of suspicion to player 001 despite all the red flags in plain sight and also his past experiences in season 1 is really ticks me off 😅🤣
This was a pretty lackluster season, most of the characters weren't very important and significant, and that made their deaths not very sad or shocking, because we didn't even get to know them well (Young-mi, Se-mi), hell, you could even say gyeong-seok as the entire side-plot of the no-eul and gyeong-seok lead to nowhere this season, maybe they'll expand that side-plot in season 3?
Im pretty sure they deliberately wrote this season without any major deaths and side-plot character events because they want to go all out on season 3. i'm still not sure if i like that, but its gotta be what they are going for
@@jae_lee- I actually think since it was filmed "back to back" it was probably intended by the creator to actually be more one long season than two separate ones. Either Netflix decided to split it into two after bad reactions to split dropping seasons or it just got too long and he had to make two seasons of it. I think it will all work much better after season 3 is released and makes a complete story arc.
We really don’t need an American version of everything it’s fine as it is if they make a spin off it should be a Korean one. I can’t stand this idea of American versions of things just stealing ideas
I appreciate movies and shows from other countries My own content ( American) is extremely predictable and the heavy-hitting topics either toe the line or are extremely woke. Idk I've noticed Korean and Japanese movies/shows usually have writing that I really enjoy
@@RunninBackchic44”woke” literally what does that even mean? The inclusion of people who don’t fit your idea of normalcy, but are literally just people who exist both in media and real life just as everyone else does? The inclusion of the judgement of human ignorance and prejudice that should be criticized but people get angry when their ignorance is called out? Is it your personal discomfort with those who are different than you? What is it and what is so forced? And what is so wrong about the inclusion of other types of people as long as their identity or stereotyped identity is not the sole focus of the media? Why are only “normal” people allowed to exist in media without backlash, when there are so many different types of people who should be allowed to exist in media, the same way they are allowed to exist in the real world as well? What is that word to you, and why is it so “wrong” and why do so many people get angry and use it as “criticism”? Is it just the hatred of the existence of others who are different from you?
The American version would be interesting because there’s a greater emphasis placed on the individual when compared to eastern nations. There are also many more ideological & cultural differences amongst people
Honestly suspected the boat guy was in on it from the first episode. No doubt the frontman definitely hired him to save his brother I wouldn’t be surprised. He was just too fishy from the beginning (no pun intended lmao)
I don't know if anyone noticed the frontman, when doing the spinning top, threw with his right hand the first two times. But on his successful attempt, threw it lith his left hand
THIS!!! Like he was going to let the team succeed on all first attempts? Yeah Right! They toy with these people (just like we saw with the recruiter in the park).
I think one reoccurring theme in the show is a persons instinct for survival as well as their morality. The main question season 1 and season 2 asks is, " what would you do to survive? What would you do for money?" Its evident at least half of the people in the show are decent people who have fallen on hard times. Even sang woo from season 1 had initially been the perfect son that fell into wrong investments. However when push came to shove he always chose to be selfish to survive. Now look at gi-hun, for the majorityy of the time he chooses to help people than himself. Although he wins the money he is dissatisfied with life. He could not help others survive in season 1. That shows his main motivation to come back in season 2. He is a rare character that his goal is not to help himself but to help others(he belives in humanity). However this type of mentality isnt the same with the other contestants/ people. Look at this season, the front man (001) in the end when push came to shove he killed to survive. Even though there were small sparks of humanity in him, he chose survival over all. I believe in season 3 the main character will be the front man and if gi-hun can convince him to be selfless. Because at the end of the day, the front man is the only person who knows the ins and outs to stop the games. Gi-Hun alone could not stop the games himself. Remember in season 1 he had almost convinced the creator in humanity. Its just the creator ran out of time(died). It will be interesting to see with enough time can he convince the front man to believe in humanity again.
What's especially amazing about this comment is you wrote all that & did not spell any words wrong. Bravo to you for your grammar skills & your excellent understanding of the show.
FYI, the police officer didn’t get demoted to traffic cop because of his superior. He chose to work as a traffic cop because of how hopeless it was to convince them about the island. Hence why he went on about that speech how the evidence in traffic law is 100% present and apparent.
What gave you the idea the front man joined altruistically? He was for sure plotting from the very start of him joining the games. I thought he was trying to throw the games with the top and slapping himself and throwing it super far. The "turn" at the end wasn't even a real turn. He just finally had to join back wit
Fair fair, I just kinda took that from the shots of him watching the games and then unmasking and going in. Just the stuff with him voting for them to leave etc seemed like he actually wanted them to go out but was disappointed when they just kept choosing to remain in.
I felt like he joined to understand why Gi-hun keeps believing he could succeed in taking down the games and believe in the good in people while the frontman is the oposite. It felt like the frontman was testing the morals by which Gi-hun makes his choices and the moment Gi-hun was ok with sacrificing a few for the greater good, the frontman slid back in the role of frontman instead of player 001. I am not sure the frontman will make a 180 in the end, at least not "turning to the light" because he is still a grey character with alot of blood on his hands.
The frontman participated to prove a point to Gi-hun, that his morals and values ultimately wouldn't hold up. That's why he did the whole speech during the vote about how players should stop and leave with their lives. He put on that show to demonstrate to Gi-hun that no matter how hard he tries, even when the front man himself is persuading the players not to, most players will choose to keep playing because it's their nature.
I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't just a repeat. I liked that it focused more on the humanity. It reminded me of the Stanford prison experiment
I liked the detail of hardened palm of the recruiter. Am i the only one who thought it showed he had to do some manual work although he has a front of having an office job?
I also don’t understand at all how so many of the participants were convinced to join Gi Hun in the revolt. The whole reason they were there was to deal with their debts or settle an outstanding balance, and a revolt would have completely ruined any chance of achieving that goal
It was. It's like it was trying to be a comedy at some points. The stakes don't feel very high. Like, I'm not convinced that people are actually getting shot down.
Yeah its like they don’t understand their own life is on the line. Another I didn’t like is how everyone cheered for each other when they won challenge, but were pissed that it was still a lot of people left when the winnings weren’t increasing
Completely agree. The human behaviour even in this absurd scenario was not ringing true, especially with all the jubilation and lack of persistent fear. I also did not care about most of the new characters and the protagonist’s plans made no sense, even for an “idiot”.
Season 2 is a fantastic follow up to an epic first season. The acting was phenomenal, even from minor side characters. It’s crazy how Korea has so much acting talent. Also, if you’re watching it dubbed and not subtitled, you’re missing about 77% of the emotion from them.
Then Check out his music. He was Part of a very famous band called Big Bang in the 2010th. He is the rapper of the group and was also one of the most famous rappers back then.
I would have said terrified, not cowardly. He told the others he has 3 older sisters and always played with them. The marines were his fathers idea to man up (although I am not sure he actually joined). He flinched so violently when player 120 came for the ammo, afraid he was going to get hit, I think his father is a difficult man and hard on him. It makes him tragic and his reaction understandable.
The fact that Gi-Hun trusted 001 , ooof . I thought the second season was pretty good and interesting, the actor who plays the front man does a great job of playing an evil villain.
I think the fisherman captain is another prior winner of the games, just like the Frontman. Maybe that's how the build their organization. Maybe all of the top lieutenants are prior winners who now serve the VIPs. It kind of makes sense, as the winner would usually be someone with flexible morals who doesn't mind killing, or can at least learn to live with it. That would also explain why they keep track of the winners after they leave, so they can see if they are recruitable or not. Gi-hun was so different from the other winners that they didn't know how to react.
I think gi-hun is going to be the front runner. The captain is the one who picks up organs! They mention in season 1 “we have to get these ready by the time the captain arrives”
Another reason why season 1 is so similar to season 2 is the characters. Sang Woo = Oh Young as they are the smart and cunning person who is friends with Gi Hun Ali = Jung Bae Gi Hun’s loyal friend Sae Byeok = Na Yeong the North Korean defector who is in search of a new life Deok Su = Thanos the Bullies Han Mi Nyao = the crazy God lady They were both crazy 69 and 70 = Mother and Son both are related Some of season two characters were like a copy and paste from old ones but season 1 did a better job as I hardly know the names of the season 2 characters.
I’m thinking about the previous winners of the games, especially in the two years since our main character won the first time. Did they just sail into the sunset?
I would say they absolutely smashed it. Both are 10/10 in my opinion. They really hit the sequel nail on the head. Sequels need 3 things: 1. Novelty 2. Excitement 3. Make sense They did it all. Novelty in the voting dynamic and the soldiers pov. This ties into points 2 and 3 in that it makes sense and keeps us wanting more. All critiques I've read/heard don't really make sense imo
If you notice in episode 1, when Junho and the Chief was eating together. The chief said something about 'Untraceable bullet in your shoulder' which could mean that The Sailor took the bullet out of Junho by himself. This could be some "eliminating the evidence" kind of move cuz if there was a bullet in his shoulder, he is clearly shot by someone and people wont think he is crazy cuz the evidence is there. And it is obvious that he found the phone and deleted the evidence
This was a reference to bullet tracing. When a bullet is fired from a gun, there is a spiraled groove left on the bullet.. these are called rifling marks, and they can be forensically used to match up a bullet to whichever suspected gun. Of course, this science only works if you have the weapon in question on-hand for testing. Otherwise, the bullet is "untraceable"
I hate the ending. I am so so mad. I could tell from the beginning the captain was a traitor. And the main character could have predicted 001 should not be trusted too. That trans guy was very brave, smart and cool. I think the captain is somehow linked to the Frontman or to those who sell organs.
Agreed! It’s called PTSD not cowardice. I saw on a Reddit post that the reason he reacted the way he did when 120 came back to the main room was most likely from PTSD from his dad beating him to “act manly” since he grew up with 4 older sisters. His dad most likely forced him into the marines to also “be more manly”
The decision to not attack the O first was so dumb. You allowed so many of the X to die just so you could carry out your dumb plan. Other than that, i liked how different this season was from the first. Frustrating, there weren't more episodes, but whatever...
Player 001 was so happy to break gi hun...during the planning of the attack when he got gi to admit he would be sacrificing the few x's the save the many....gi hun might as well become player 001 next season
Season 2 was basically to show that no matter what, Gi-Hun cannot stop the games. First, the failure to locate the island with the tracker. Secondly, unable to get the majority of the contestants to vote against the games because of greed. Finally, his failed rebellion. So with all hopes lost and the guilt of watching his best friend die… we have a broken man (if he wasn’t already from season 1). Season 3 will be his transformation arc where he becomes the new frontman. It’s the only reason why In-Ho didn’t kill him, also the reason why In-Ho participated… he was prepping Gi-Hun. Showing him that no matter how hard he tries, the games cannot be stopped. It’s no coincidence that In-Ho was a previous winner of the games and then became the Front Man… maybe In-Ho himself went through the same emotions/process. Season 3 will most likely be about how In-Ho went from becoming a contestant like Gi-Hun to cold blooded Frontman.
Another I think this season highlights more than the other ones is that a lot more younger people are participating which shows how everything is going in the new age it’s no longer just the old that are In debt but now a younger generation.
Other theory: Il-Nam is likely the father of In-Ho/Young-Il. Il-Nam was allergic to milk and Young-Il gave his milk to player 222 likely because he is also allergic. Also, both were player 001 and both have Il in their names. Just throwing this out there!
i clocked captain park the moment choi told him the details of what was going on. there was nothing specific that he said or did in that scene that made him suspicious but his vibes just felt off. i also figured choi was oblivious enough to end up giving intel to a spy without thinking abt potential consequences. but literally from that second on i didn't trust captain park at all and was not surprised when it was finally revealed lmao
Frontman was deliberately messing up the spinner. You notice him using his left hand as his dominant hand in multiple scenes, but in that one, he was using his right hand. When he used his left, he immediately spun it correctly.
It sounded to me like the cop was working traffic patrol by choice, as his captain was asking him to come back to major crimes and his response was akin to “I like traffic, there’d no room for corruption.”
i think the male in red light green light was put to prevent players from using their strategy of hiding behind each other, because now the male doll can watch them from behind as well
This season was good. I was wondering what Front man was doing and I was just waiting for his betrayal. Everthing he told Gi-hun in the limo is playing out infront of us. I can't wait for season 3 next year.
i was really hoping the front man got a change of heart and we got a new villain at the end… like i was expecting a better plot twist and not a cliffhanger… imo he genuinely found like in gi-hun… i mean he didnt shoot him for a reason
I thought the ship captain was working against the search for the island from the very beginning. On the other hand, I believe the captain rescuing Jun-ho was no accident. This was almost certainly the work of the frontman wanting to save his brother and keep an eye on him

Yo you ain’t going to do what if
Im sorry but thinking a korean show would use blue and red as a comment on american political parties seems crazy to me.
There even some that theorise that post credits is actually a flashback to front man time in games as competitor. 👍
I love how ammo played a major part in the battle. So many movies and shows pretend that ammo is infinite but this show really made it feel like every bullet mattered
Every bullet did matter… that guy in the shoot out had his own last bullet
For real. Realistic and it made the viewers feel uneasy
It was my favorite part and the way it felt real to me
It played that much of a role that they didnt even took the spare ammo with them from the first room, and died without it. Thats how you do it
@@Kloyzom I agree regarding the realistic aspect and importance of ammo in the finale, but I viewed the finale rather as extremely unrealistic.
THIS!
Me too, I never believed he was getting a conscience one moment (maybe except when it comes down to his brother Junho)

Right! I was so confused when FM rolled up with 001. Ahhh helll naw. Why are you talking to this dude? I’m so disappointed 😩
The actor playing the Front Man was absolutely phenomenal.
It's cool we got more from him and the recruiter, to know a bit about their motives, the latter was a bit of a psycho and the front man's world view was turned upside down by grief, both believed they are right in what they do and how they do it, that makes for an interesting antagonist
It’s amazing when an actor is incredible. It’s twice as amazing when they put on act…while putting on an act.
Front man is a legend is the Korean and geek scene, most westernees know him as the ninja is Gi joe
You mean Storm Shadow?
Korean Hannibal

He was protecting his brother from danger and want to locate him first
@@iammar1159it was definitely because its his brother
Hey Paul, small correction - the cop was not demoted to traffic - he talks how he deliberately chose traffic because it's clear cut, no gray area. He talked about the disappointment of nobody believing him about the island. And also gives him more time (to search for the island).
Yeah 💯. He goes into great detail explaining the rationale for voluntarily moving to traffic. Dunno how that was missed.
They wanted Jun-Ho back in Major Crimes but he said no.
He could have been demoted, and simply liked it more, I took a new job lower in rank, and the absence of stress is a wonderful thing.
True. It was his own choice. He likes the fact that it is an evidence based job. Very black and white
If I had a nickel for every time Gi-hun was overly trusting of an infiltrator playing as the number 001, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
(Also I really enjoyed this season) :)
You said it only because you already knew it. The smart person would've thought "hey, 001 was a traitor at the last time, they wouldn't do that twice to me, it's stupid".

@@АлександрБычков-к4н but cmon now a lot of things in the games were a repeat of last time, for it to not even cross his mind was strange
💯
Agreed... I like this season solely on their focused explanation on human nature when it comes to money. Enough is never enough
Could be, but that also makes it less interesting. Design choices in narration, even if deliberate, can still lead to less entertaining series.
I’m American and when I saw this I thought oh shoot now everyone has a weapon
Thanks for adding the cultural context!
I thought they did a good job making this season feel fresh compared to the first. None of my predictions came true. Cant wait for Season 3!!!

Luckily season 3 releases in 2025 so we won’t have another 3 year wait😅
I still think his plan to revolt was kinda stupid.. 15 people? Even all of them combined practically wouldn’t have stand a chance. I kinda agree with 001, Attacking the blue first would have been a better idea imo for all of them to survive.
Same, I'm so pissed they thought that plan would work. It caused so many people to die. It's pretty disappointing.

Yeah, I believe the brothers are protecting each other. The cop isn't telling people that his brother is the front man, and the front man sent the boat guy to rescue and distract his brother.

It was season 2 part 1. Part 2 should've followed in a few weeks to a month max. Cutting short that way is not only unsatisfying, but frustrating.

I was thinking the same thing
I agree.. he definitely lived. If he had died, they would've panned on him afterwards, which they didn't. They are probably going to try and savor him for his organs since he is alive and soldier woman will save him somehow.
Isnt that the one where it showed the coffin being saved because it went below the fire?

However, if they put one doll on the side even if they line up together and hide behind someone's back and move around while it's red light they will still get hit which makes it even interesting.
No it's definitely not that simple. They aren't trying to kill everyone in one go for the show, so they give more freedom like communicating behind their backs.
It's probably something more strategic now. Or just a random cameo

You missed an important detail: the captain also saved the detective. It's possible that the front man spoke to the captain to help find his brother after shooting him in the first series, which could explain why the captain was also involved.
He did put in that detail
He said it in the video
can you explain like what kinda tampering he's doing at midnight there with the drone?

They tried to make it look like oh he just needed the company, but it's just not believable.
My theory is the Captain was working with the rogue organ smugglers. When they snuck off the island in diving suits they were going to his boat and that was why he was nearby.
Don't worry guys, they already confirmed S3 is due to 2025, the reason why it took them years to make this season is because they been working on S3 at the same time, so people will not have to wait that long to see the sequel like we did with S2
Yes only 1 year instead of 3 years. It still sucks but at least I know what I will be doing next year december!
I still think that you shouldn’t release a season without any feeling of conclusion. There was lack of build up to the revolt, so it was underwhelming.

We can guarantee this show will not drag on and become the walking dead.
S2 felt like half a season anyway so in total we only get 2 whole seasons which is very disappointing

Why did they take Gi-hun's TINY chip stored in his TOOTH??? BUT NOT THE BIG AHH SILVER NECKLACE or the Granny's HAIR KNIFE?!?!?🤔🥴💀💀
I think that was intentional. They probably knew about the knife and necklace but allowed it to make the games more interesting. Allowing the chip would have been self-sabotage as their location would have been compromised.

🔥🔥🔥🔥
I meant he pressed O
What's especially amazing about this comment is you wrote all that & did not spell any words wrong.
Bravo to you for your grammar skills & your excellent understanding of the show.
FYI, the police officer didn’t get demoted to traffic cop because of his superior. He chose to work as a traffic cop because of how hopeless it was to convince them about the island. Hence why he went on about that speech how the evidence in traffic law is 100% present and apparent.
I also think its because as a trffic cop he'd have a lot more time to go to the islands then as a Major crimes Detective.
True but he did not have enough evidence of the island’s location and its perpetrators.
I think gi-hun and the revolt changed the plans of the front man, it forced his hand to go back to wearing the mask
@@tonytan5945well he was not the Frontman at that point of explanation.
This season was completely different to the first…. I don’t know how to feel about it
love it
I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't just a repeat. I liked that it focused more on the humanity. It reminded me of the Stanford prison experiment
I know how to feel about it. It sucked.
Honestly, I like that they switched it up it would have been a bit dull if it was exactly the same.
i don't mind it, i just laughed at a full on rebellion
I liked the detail of hardened palm of the recruiter. Am i the only one who thought it showed he had to do some manual work although he has a front of having an office job?
I also don’t understand at all how so many of the participants were convinced to join Gi Hun in the revolt. The whole reason they were there was to deal with their debts or settle an outstanding balance, and a revolt would have completely ruined any chance of achieving that goal
Not really cuz if they did stop em they would of just took all the money and split it together
Honestly, the first seasons dark and serious tone was what made it so good, this season felt very, unserious, if that makes sense.
It was. It's like it was trying to be a comedy at some points. The stakes don't feel very high. Like, I'm not convinced that people are actually getting shot down.
Yeah its like they don’t understand their own life is on the line. Another I didn’t like is how everyone cheered for each other when they won challenge, but were pissed that it was still a lot of people left when the winnings weren’t increasing
yeah, more people were unserious about what was happening unlike the last season,
for me it was like a culture shock and im not used to it kk@@
Absolutely.
I think it ended on seven episodes because seven is a god number, and the we’re on channel 7 when they were rebelling
Thanos was my favourite character from this season, the guy is high out of his mind people are dying all around him and, he’s just vibing 😂😂😂
😂i thought he was obnoxious at first but he just has to be charismatic and funny. He was one of my favs too
@ Same, I was lowkey upset when he died I was expecting him to back it to the end
😂😂😂😂
Then Check out his music. He was Part of a very famous band called Big Bang in the 2010th. He is the rapper of the group and was also one of the most famous rappers back then.
TOP did a great job ngl 😂😂
i think saying dae-ho was cowardly is a bit wrong personally, I wrecken he's got PTSD
Pretty sure he wasn’t a real marine
It was anxiety, not PTSD. Guy was never a marine, you didn‘t saw his awkard reaction when the other marine talked about that topic?
I would have said terrified, not cowardly. He told the others he has 3 older sisters and always played with them. The marines were his fathers idea to man up (although I am not sure he actually joined). He flinched so violently when player 120 came for the ammo, afraid he was going to get hit, I think his father is a difficult man and hard on him. It makes him tragic and his reaction understandable.
Maybe a bit of both. He volunteered so he could run back to safety possibly.
I legit thought he was gonna die but rest in peace to his friend jung bae
The fact that Gi-Hun trusted 001 , ooof . I thought the second season was pretty good and interesting, the actor who plays the front man does a great job of playing an evil villain.
How bro didn't immediatly suspect number 001, after the ringer he went through in season1, just didn't make sense to me.
😂
wow, I don't think ANYONE has misunderstood SO MUCH about this season, so confidently.
Seriously. Speaking so confidently while missing so much is very unlike this guy!
FOR REAL
They mention in season 1 “we have to get these ready by the time the captain arrives”
did they want to get rid of the recruiter? it was too easy and wired as well, that main character risks his life to eliminate the recruiter.
It would make sense for recruiters to have a short shelf life.
Seemed weird how he lost during Russian roulette when he literally could’ve him with the last bullet
Another reason why season 1 is so similar to season 2 is the characters.
Sang Woo = Oh Young as they are the smart and cunning person who is friends with Gi Hun
Ali = Jung Bae Gi Hun’s loyal friend
Sae Byeok = Na Yeong the North Korean defector who is in search of a new life
Deok Su = Thanos the Bullies
Han Mi Nyao = the crazy God lady They were both crazy
69 and 70 = Mother and Son both are related
Some of season two characters were like a copy and paste from old ones but season 1 did a better job as I hardly know the names of the season 2 characters.
I’m thinking about the previous winners of the games, especially in the two years since our main character won the first time. Did they just sail into the sunset?
5:18 Just to get a bit of head? Relatable
😂
😂
I would say they absolutely smashed it.
Both are 10/10 in my opinion.
They really hit the sequel nail on the head.
Sequels need 3 things:
1. Novelty
2. Excitement
3. Make sense
They did it all.
Novelty in the voting dynamic and the soldiers pov.
This ties into points 2 and 3 in that it makes sense and keeps us wanting more.
All critiques I've read/heard don't really make sense imo
I agree totally on the season episode numbers.
Can we please bring back 20+ episodes and 5+ seasons 😢
As soon as he was sent back to the games, it was clear to me they were doing a Hunger Games thing
Bruh i left this comment before i got to the part where he brings up the hunger games
i thought the same thing! and the rebellion part reminded me of it too!
I think the captain is somehow linked to the Frontman or to those who sell organs.
how can you ever trust 001 )
@@Alexander-dt2eqexactly I was so mad about it.
It was so easy to know 001 was the traitor…
They had to fill the quota of “Stunning and brave” trans guy
i loved his friend tho why he gotta die😭
14:52 I don’t think he was too cowardly, he was shell-shocked
that’s what i thought! seeing as he was a marine or in the navy (i don’t remember which one)
I'm already done watching hehe
Why did i get so triggered at 13:48 when he said sushi instead of kimbap😭😭😭 no hate btw
I’m sure you’re the first UA-camr on Earth who could film this detailed commentary video just a few hours after the S2 released, impressive
Bring back the days of 22 episodes in a season 🙏
Right like
Regular cable tv
Been saying that for years
This all could of been one season
Long
To be fair those were roughly 7 1/2 hours worth as well
The decision to not attack the O first was so dumb. You allowed so many of the X to die just so you could carry out your dumb plan. Other than that, i liked how different this season was from the first. Frustrating, there weren't more episodes, but whatever...
they even lost the money they were supposed to get MC shouldnt have included his own team in his mess
Captain betrayal was too predictable... He got way more screentime for a supporting character
I didn't even sleep binge-watching this show; a solid 6/10!
Interesting rating
Other theory: Il-Nam is likely the father of In-Ho/Young-Il. Il-Nam was allergic to milk and Young-Il gave his milk to player 222 likely because he is also allergic. Also, both were player 001 and both have Il in their names. Just throwing this out there!
yeah ill nam is the father of in-ho and jun-ho :)
i clocked captain park the moment choi told him the details of what was going on. there was nothing specific that he said or did in that scene that made him suspicious but his vibes just felt off. i also figured choi was oblivious enough to end up giving intel to a spy without thinking abt potential consequences. but literally from that second on i didn't trust captain park at all and was not surprised when it was finally revealed lmao
This whole thing feels like the last season house of dragon with the the blue balling, I am fucking tired of waiting so long for do little
I think the second doll they added red light green light is to prevent people from hiding behind one another, like they did in season 2
I was hoping at least 10 plus episodes . 7 was way too short. We need more
Frontman was deliberately messing up the spinner. You notice him using his left hand as his dominant hand in multiple scenes, but in that one, he was using his right hand. When he used his left, he immediately spun it correctly.
I love when you slip in a reference to liking and subscribing. Nicely subtle, fren.
Season 3 is confirmed to arrive in 2025. Probably in December as well!
1 year!!!???
December is fucking insane
I heard they'd release it in less then april
How can you say „probably december“ when literally nobody ever said that. Don’t spread misinformation ffs
No month is leaked. If you go by using the word 'probably', then I can that S3 will release in 2025 January PROBABLY
It sounded to me like the cop was working traffic patrol by choice, as his captain was asking him to come back to major crimes and his response was akin to “I like traffic, there’d no room for corruption.”
Absolutely Love the content I've seen a video here and there and I've always loved them I'm glad I found you again I subscribed!!
Front man/001 is so fine and you can’t convince me otherwise (especially when he’s 001)
Great video and awesome channel. But you have address your cadence. It's insanely grinding mate
Front Man is definitely not making it out of season 3 alive.
Idk front man is one of the most interesting characters right now. I hope he makes it out
@datdude1021 Aye I really like his character too but I just think with the whole redemption arc thing that he's gonna snuff it.
i think the male in red light green light was put to prevent players from using their strategy of hiding behind each other, because now the male doll can watch them from behind as well
This season is squid games version of empire strikes back 😂😂😂
This season was good.
