Paul and Morgan would you let me spontaneously karate chop you the way Morgan does to Paul? 🤔

Asking them what boundaries they have. (No idea how that'd be brought up, but it's good, and hopefully the guy already has some and even better if he brings it up)

The only problem with the question, "Are you healed from your previous relationship?" is that the person will most likely answer yes even if he/she may not truly be. I would listen closely to see how often he/she brings up past significant others and how much he/she talks about him/her. There are other ways to see if they are truly healed rather than just their direct answer, which could be quite biased to hear what the other person wants to hear. Bringing up healing is a very valid point and one that should not be underestimated.

    Paul and Morgan,
Please pray for my mom. She possibly has metastatic bone cancer. More tests are yet to be done but doctors think thats what she is struggling with.
I believe prayer can work miracles. Especially when Christians come together as one and pray.
Please pray for healing, strength, and courage for her and for my family as we all struggle. I appreciate it so much.
Please spread this. I'm trying to start a prayer chain for her. The more people in this, the better. This has been the saddest I've ever been, and I've battled depression 3 years ago (overcame it in the way Morgan did, which was cool to find out when you uploaded it, Morgan

Emily Rose Praying ! Just know that even if God does not heal her at this moment, this situation can be used for the glory of God. I have a family friend with cancer and she’s gotten to the point where she doesn’t even want healing for it because of what She’s seen God do with he cancer and how many people she’s reached ! I just wanted to say that , to look on it with Gods perspective if God doesn’t heal her of it at the moment.

It's so cool that you have a bunch of similar questions that I've come up with! "What do you do in your free time?" Is a question I use _often_ and plan to use in any person I'm considering for marriage. Like you said, it reveals a lot about a person without sounding strange.
The way I've come up with my questions is by making a list of what I'm looking for in a wife, and then figuring out what specific traits those things would have, then how would you know they have 5hose traits? Sometimes it can just be observed, but those that can't, I make questions for.
For example, say one of the things you're looking for is someone who is'nt a spend thrift: knows how to save money and use it wisely. Since this is essentially a trait, jump to the observe/question stage. While this may be observed to some extent (e.g. Does the person buy something everytime you go out?), it takes some time, and only travels so far. So the question I would make for this would probably be something along the lines of: "Have you ever saved your money for something you really wanted? Did you succeed?"
If the answer is yes to both of the questions, then ask what they saved for. If it's something expensive, like a horse or a car, then this person is most certainly a saver. If they have never saved up for anything, and have no or little money, then they are probably a spendthrift. And based on the answers to the questions, you can probably judge pretty accurately about anywhere in between.
That's just one long example, but here are some less detailed versions:
What's your favorite verse in the Bible? (Frequent Bible reading?)
What's the craziest thing the Lord has ever asked you to do? (Can they hear from the Spirit? Do they have solid relationship with Christ?)
What have you been learning recently? (Where is their focus placed? God? Education? Relationships?)
(I think that most women would really enjoy answering this one.) What's your favorite clothing shop (or brand or style)? (Modesty, hygiene. Many times you won't know for sure just based on their appearance in front of you, because they most likely are dressing up for you.)
What's your favorite thing to cook/grill? (Cooking/grilling ability?)
Honesty, which I think is a really important one, you pretty much just have to make an educated guess based off of the conversation in my opinion. No matter how hard I've thought about it, I just can't seem to think of a good question for it.
One question I'm certainly planning to ask anyone I'm praying about marriage over is if they are willing to sacrifice everything for Christ. Including themselves, all pleasures, their spouse, any children. Though this might come a _little_ farther into the relationship than a first date, I would bring this up as early as possible, because unless the Lord tells me to, I won't marry anyone who isn't for that. Mostly because I feel that I might be in that situation, persecuted for Christ at some point. And I don't see any reason to date if you aren't planning to get married.
    Probably should end there. :P
Any advice is greatly appreciated! Though I've put many hours of thought into this type of thing, there's always more to learn! (And it would be nice to be as prepared as possible... Lol!)
Thanks for making your videos, guys! They are very encouraging.

I recently started getting to know this guy and these are questions I also ask most of the people I meet but we had a serious conversation just asking each other questions after only knowing each other for two days. We're not dating but we wanted to know from the beginning of there would be things that were considered "deal breakers" or red flags for either one of us. We asked about each other's past, we talked about adoption, we talked about things we struggle with, our health, career choices and gave each other our testimonials. We laid it all out. Two questions I always like to ask the most are "What is your biggest regret?" And "What do you think was your biggest accomplishment?". He asked me one question that I thought was great but I had trouble answering it was "If you gave me a CD with 5 songs on it to describe yourself what would they be?" I thought it was unique and informative.
Don't be afraid to ask the hard questions early. It's better to know in advance so that you don't risk getting attached to that person and end up falling into unexpected circumstances because of that. I'm speaking from experience on this. Also I read a book that talked about defining boundaries before getting to know someone. Tell them whether you want to get to know them as a friend or as more that way neither one of you is questioning things. It's a slightly awkward conversation the first time but very necessary because it can save you a lot of heartbreak. So define your relationships, are you dating or are you just friends? Don't let gray areas appear.
Thank you Morgan and Paul for your videos. You've given some great advice and it has helped me greatly.
    God bless you both ❤️

I started watching your videos today guys and I have a similar testimony to Morgan’s. I was trying to force a guy to be a godly man, to go to church and pursue God and it ended up messing my walk with God but thankfully God’s grace was bigger than my mistake. For a while I thought I would never find a godly man who genuinely loves the Lord and puts Him first, but you guys as a couple give me so much hope. Of He did it for you guys, He will do it for all of us singles who do desire a Christ-centered relationship❤️thank you. I will come back and comment right on this video when God brings the one for me. Sending all my love and support to you and to all singles and people who are in bad relationships, but believe in God and love Him with all of their heart. I know the dating game can be tough sometimes, but be still and know that God is good✨

I asked about generational curses. I know that sounds harsh but I know my crazy and I need to know their crazy. The best part is that it lead me to see if he was equally yoked in the fact that 1) he knew what I was talking/asking about and 2) if he was serious in his faith and prayer life to rebuke them.

It is a sensitive topic, but one I have learned to bring up early on. I will respectfully ask a man not to continue to pursue me if they have a current or recent history of addiction to pornography. This is an incredibly sensitive topic for most men in the church, one that is surrounded by secrecy and shame, so I approach it with grace and gentleness. I am careful not to ask them if they personally struggle (it is not my business at that point) but still careful to guard my heart all the same. It is never easy to bring up but it is important. If you have any advice or encouragement on this point I would appreciate it. Thanks!

So ya’ll mentioned asking about when someone was saved/accepted Christ. I recently had this same discussion with my youth group. I said that I have felt that I have known Christ since a young child and had accepted him way before my baptism at age 11. Everyone got very quiet and started questioning my faith because of this. Plus everyone had their own “coming to the Lord” story. That night I felt completely awful and like I was attacked. Do you believe this really matters and would you sincerely question someone’s faith because they do not know the exact time and date of being saved?

Sabrina Johnson Those "Coming to the Lord" stories, man. I felt/feel as you did. After my baptism, our bible night leader had participants testify their experience. While I'm 30 yrs old, I've never even kissed, let alone been with someone, nor have I taken drugs nor do I drink alcohol. I did none of the things these other women were testifying about and how they had been saved from them. I also do not (like to) lie, so I said I hadn't felt anything "extra special" when I went into the water, as opposed to feeling being "renewed" and "like something flowed into me" at that moment, as the other participants were saying they had felt. Silence followed my words. It's jarring and makes me question my Faith, which I know isn't fair or right to feel, because my heart was in the right place. I feel out of place whenever these women praise God for what He's done (especially recently) in their lives because my hardships are not theirs and I keep mine to myself, however small they feel in comparison.
So given my experience and my way of thinking, I do not like to question anyone's actions or words, more like try to understand where they are coming from, because even around Christians I feel unique (and not always in the best of ways).
Yeah. One time a guy (who I thought had Christian beliefs, or at least he seemed the type) asked me out and I was adamant that it was just a meeting as friends. When I told him I had never been in a romantic relationship he took it... wrong somehow. Said I was missing out on hugs and cutesy stuff. It made me feel down that night, but in the end I know I want and will find a man who respects me for who I am, never-been-kissed and all that. (Really, you'd think a guy would be into that!)

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."
Romans 12:1-2 "[...] offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world [...]."
I personally never saw myself getting tattoos (so permanent!), nor did I like the idea of coloring my hair or wearing makeup. I did like getting a spray-on tattoo once... But nothing permanent. It wouldn't define me and I wouldn't want others' way of thinking going astray with whatever I had, which includes the clothing I buy. Like many other things, tattoos leave an impression on people; I tend to assume that tattooed people who now follow God only have preexisting tattoos, and do not get any more afterward.
I'd prefer it if my future husband did not have them because then maybe we'd have a similar way of thinking when it comes to how we treat our bodies. Is a tattoo a hard "No" when it comes to choosing my future husband? It's not. It's not ideal, but no one's past (including mine) isn't either. That said, upon a first impression, the amount and kind of tattoos on a man would matter greatly to me.

eme henson The context of that verse is very important! The tattoos being referred to there are ones that distinguish the person as part of another tribe. So God isn’t against tattoos- just don’t get ones that identify you as not entirely committed to the LORD. Have a nice day 😌

Since the word "Christian" has become so ambiguous in our culture and society, I prefer to ask the question, "With what kind of church background do you most identify?" You can find out what kind of denomination (yes, even non-denominational is essentially a denomination) they most likely are and their views on certain theological issues. Keep in mind however that the denomination one grew up with may or may not necessarily be what he/she considers him/herself today. I for example, grew up in a Baptist background but identify more with the Antioch/Assembly of God background.

Best way to ask if she is looking for a husband.... hmmm, my best attempt to slide it in the convo would be: How long do you expect getting married to take for you? Not really all that smooth, but it doesn't quite feel so intense. My problem is working 5 or 6 days a week stops me from really cranking up my dating life.

Ok guys , great vid ! (Like always) ... Here a question to ask (directly probing the other's spiritual maturity level) that may be a lot more relevant today than many realize:
"Do you believe in the Trinity ?"
"If no , why ? If yes , please sum it up in your own words , for example like you would explain it to your own child."

Hi, Molly here!!! I love you guys!! So one time on a first date (after an hour or so of talking) I asked the guy what his view on abortion was. A heavy topic, but his answer revealed a lot about where his heart was in general and allowed me to not waste his time and to not waste my time trying to figure out if our convictions lined up. He ended up trying to pursue me after that, but I lost interest after we had a really deep heart to heart about it, because I saw that even though he was a really sweet guy, he wasn’t mature enough in his faith to be ready to lead me in a relationship, which is something that I believe is very important in a Christ centered relationship. I was tired of wasting time taking three/four dates to even figure out where the guy is spiritually that I just started asking serious questions during that date. I also asked him when he accepted the Lord as his savior (he had said he was a Christian) and he said that he goes to church most Sundays. That conversation as it unfolded showed me that he wasn’t in a personal relationship with God, which showed me immediately that I didn’t want to go on a second date with him. The date did end up being very purposeful though, because I got to share my experience with being saved and laying my life down and I got to share the gospel with him and tell him about Christ’s sacrifice so that he could know the Lord personally in spirit. So I’m really happy with how the serious questions on a first date played out :) It was a lot less superficial feeling than many other first dates I had been on. Thanks for being so great, guys! ❤️

Just wanted to let you guys know how much I just LOVE watching you. You guys would make epic youth pastors. I’m only 16 but I just got a job and will probably look into becoming a patron when the time is right. Again love you guys so much. You shine so much light on hard topics and really know how to keep it entirely bible based.

"Two karate chops a week...that's it." | "I"m being serious: you get one karate chop a week." "No, two." :P I'd say karate chops equal love haha Also, I just noticed you've been putting a different vegetable/fruit/food after the words SUBSCRIBE in each video hahahaha Loved these questions! Another thing I'd add is like if you go to a restaurant, see how they treat the waiter or just see how they treat people around them in general 'cause they're probably all set to impress you but seeing how they treat others is going to give a good deal of insight into their character. Love you guys and keep shining

sense of humor: is it funny to tip your friend's canoe over and dump them into the water? if a girl you like is walking on a rickety bridge that is laying on the water, do you think it's funny to shake it continually while she's screaming? When Paul said a girl told him she wanted to be a doctor and it made him less interested in her it was like a knife in my heart 😭 I’m planning to be a doctor and I thought being motivated was a good thing and I had no idea that guys don’t like driven girls 😭😭😭 that’s a crappy double standard: most girls would love to date a doctor, but apparently men don’t want to be with female doctor how is that fair

Just because he feels that way that doesn't mean all men feel the same.

    • @EMichaelBall
      @EMichaelBall 2 роки тому

Gender roles hardwired from caveman days. The man earns, while the woman nurtures the kids at home. It’s a fair trade. I’m not saying that you should give up on your dreams, just know that the available pool of men will be smaller than some women. Also note that most women at least subconsciously demand their man make more than them, regardless of the woman’s income. So this can put strain on a relationship, especially if you’re not aware of it happening in your psyche.
