In second edition I added a terminator with heavy flamer to my death company. I tried to justify it by saying he had fallen to the black rage right as they were heading out so there was no way of getting him out of the terminator armour and into regular marine armour. Some people actually let me play against them with that model. It was fun charging around the board cooking units until he was inevitably ripped to shreds in a hail of gunfire.
Finding this a year later and the best warhammer games are like this. I proxy a lot of tau auxs and iv almost NEVER had a issue with anyone. Expect people trying to practice for tournaments ect. Who are they to say a tech termi was NEVER a thing?
Terminator Techmarine: it is such an obvious upgrade when I see it. This is a fantastic bit of work. The Kataphron kit's little servo arms are great for cybernetics and servitors.
I'm honestly amazed that GW haven't done a full suite of Terminator characters. I suppose there's the Deathwing Apothecary, but that's about it beyond the Captain model. The upside is we don't have 42 different Terminator Lieutenant models! And yeah, the Kataphron kit is a godsend for Kitbashing.
Ferrus manus was basically wearing terminator armour with a servo harness. I think one of the big problems with 40k is that the possibility space for what could exist in the setting is pretty much infinite, but the freedom for players to engage with it outside of limited cases, is very minimal.
Yeah, I couldn't agree more. I guess I'm a bit more old-school than most, as I started playing with a group during 2nd Edition that still treated it like Rogue Trader, so there were proxies and home-brew units all over the place.
GW has also had a habit of deliberately hard-coding limitations to what is possible. For no other reason than because "we don't, at this very moment, sell that thing". So they make it so "that thing" does not and _can never_ exist by the arbitrary rules of the setting.
@@Bluecho4 That's exclusively 40k. 30k gives you the opportunity to give your units whatever the fuck you want (even if they don't provide all of it in the box) and basically says: "You want a Jump-Pack Praetor with a Thunder Hammer and an Archeotech pistol? Sure, here's the rules for it. Have fun!"
@@Bluecho4 That is GW after the Chapterhouse lawsuit. Basically they have to have a model for every rule they publish or somebody could contest their rights to that if they bring a model to market first. This video was great and gave me some really helpful tips for modelling with plasticard in general. Keep up the awesome work!
