  • Can you find #bargain #glassware & crystal shopping for #ThriftStoreFinds? Watch and pick the most valuable piece of antique and vintage glass. Is it an old Coke or Coca-Cola bottle, a Bride's basket made of glass with a silver base, a thumbprint bowl or a serving dish or plate? Watch Ph.D. Antiques Appraiser Dr. Lori share secrets to find bargain glassware & crystal and their values including hand cut vases. See #howto identify hand blown and hand painted pieces.
Discover how you are losing a lot of money when using online auctions to value, price and research your glass pieces. Dr. Lori also reveals how the markets have changed for particular pieces of glass and how a green tinted piece of milk glass is valued. And if that isn't enough, learn how to determine where a piece with a Madonna and child image on it is made by noticing which direction Madonna's head is tilted. Dr. Lori uses a frosted glass candle holder as an example.
Ask Dr. Lori to appraise your piece of antique glass, vase, bowl or plate or thrift store find. Attend her antiques appraisal events near you or submit photos on Dr. Lori's website.

That is the first thumbprint glassware I've ever seen except for mine that is on a pedestal. I got mine gifted to me by a special person at an auction we attended. I wanted it, it was very cheap, to put water and floating candles in to sit out on our cabin's porch for a romantic evening. It was lovely! I am looking at it now and it's not perfect...some of the color is flawed/worn off of the thumbprints, but it is very special to me now that I'm old and my ex love is long ago passed away. Those were the days!

I have zero crystal so I have been looking at looks of different styles and brands to decide what I want to buy. I even went to the the Waterford Crystal factory in Ireland and did not buy any. Houseful of teenagers 😅. Loved the feel of weight and sharpness when you feel it though. Waterford is nice. How neat would it be to know by heart what the different artists' styles are!? He holds live auctions every Monday night on his Locker Nuts channel. Sometimes pop up auctions other nights. He and Janna are really nice people in the Bay Area CA. He needs you. Yes some of what he does is to just move volume at flea markets etc but the treasures he comes across he's clueless about and getting bad information off eBay solds and ill intentioned appraisers. Dr. Lori, is the Coke bottle ONLY for Rochester IN bottles. My husband says it's worth $500 because of where it was bottled. I have 12 of those bottles from VA, WV, SC, NC and other states, but not Rochester. Found in an OLD, old barn in 2012. My husband says my bottles would be lucky to be the $300. (I had put them up on Let Go for $3 each and no one bought them. Should I be glad they didn't sell? I am getting just a little excited and nervous.

My values are based on actual sales. I have to see your bottles to verify what you really have. Many factors affect value. For example, when your bottles were made. Not just where.

@@DrLoriV OMG! I never really thought you'd answer me. The bottle is an exact match for what is pictured here. They say, Chattanooga TN, Fredericksburg VA, etc, And all of them have little rubs on the sides where they would rub together while being driven to the store. I am holding one right now that says Greenwood on the top of the bottom. Then a "L" in the center and an S. C. on the bottom. Says on the sides, "Trademark Registered" and "in US Patent Office" and then has numbers 61-93 under that and on the other side "Contains 6 1/2 Fluid ozs." I will try to be in the waiting room the next time you are on a live show here on You Tube and show you. -- I just love you. You make me smile! :) You are so happy! Just gotta love ya!

I think you are referring to a pontil mark where the blow pipe from a blown glass piece is removed.
