I want to echo Carina's sentiment - do listen to the Peaches (Jack Black) mini - you will hear Geoff as you have never heard him before! This is a lovely arrangement - and Ashley Diane has an amazing voice. When Layne arranges, Geoff usually gets tested and vice versa 😄. Geoff said in an interview they are always excited when "Layne blesses us with a vocal part" - we always look forward to hearing him! 🌹🕊
When Geoff hits the high note in his run......check out the smirk on Layne's face.....
Layne knows how to get the best out of Geoff.....>^^
This is one of my VP favorites, and not just because I was in a high school production of Fiddler on the Rood. If it challenges Geoff's range it's probably a Layne arrangement, and this one is again disproving that "basses don't riff." (See also Tennessee Whiskey.)
If you want to hear Layne take a verse, watch Moana, Little Mermaid, Grinch, or Bruno.
This was filmed at a studio other than Pattycake but Tony was still there, helping with costumes. And it's easy to see why the guys wanted to collaborate with Ashley again and again. They crossed paths because she was working with Cesar on a different project.
nah, this was just a G4 at the end, Geoff goes over an octave higher than that 😄
This was Caesars first as an original member, he had been featured before and the debute of Ashley with VoicePlay.
If Wicked was a heart project for Geoff, I believe this was Laynes'.
Listen to the mini of Peaches with VoicePlay and you will hear Geoff hit it even harder and higher.
Also, there are some 'live' tour phone videos from the audience that are amazingly high. Quality is not really good for reactions, but for personal watching you might want to google for them. He goes really high at the end of 'Elivira' with VoicePlay. And outrageously high on 'Grace Kelly' with Toxic Audio.
One of my favs for sure. Thanks for the reaction.
This was so much fun. I am a huge musical theater nerd (old school) and Layne's arrangement was perfect! Loved the Phrygian chords and Ashley's run! It was so cute that Layne had her ask "What?" when she finished and each of the guys, for just a second, was giving her that "what the heck was that?" look!
She returns the look at Geoff in We Don't Talk About Bruno.
The highest he's done is during a mini done in the mall and in front of GameStop. The guys were doing Peaches (Super Mario Brothers) and Geoff went to Bb5 which is his highest!
Love the cover and reaction
Such a fun version of this song
loved how much you enjoyed this one! ❤
This is one of my favourite VoicePlays! The arrangement is stellar! Layne worked on it for several years before he was content. Glad you liked it too!
I think you’re mixing this up with a different video. Layne actually did this very quickly after they realized they shouldn’t do the one they had ready and shelved it. (There was some controversy involved). They knew there wouldn’t be any controversy with this one.)
@@Wildecat10 I searched and searched now when I read your comment because I really thought it was this one. And it is this one. Cyndi Stein wrote in an answer to a comment to the video that Layne has worked on it for years, possibly five years.
@@Wildecat10 Perhaps you're thinking about Hall of the Mountain King?
I very much like _Fiddler on the Roof_ . VoicePlay knocked it out of the park on this one. Great arrangement; fantastic vocals by everyone. Thanks, Cole, for the reaction.
Geoff can do it live too, and goes even higher. There’s a live version performance where they played musical chairs and losers sing Mika’s Grace Kelly…
