I'm so tired of Microsoft updates messing up my Laptop with updates, I've spent hours trying to get various things to work again following such updates, even including my printer and scanner. It's really frustrating when you sit down to get some work done and then have to spend time getting your computer working properly so you can complete some simple task. From the latest update my screen sharing is gone along with my HDMI. Why are they allowed to remove features your computer had when you bought it and you've been using it for years, or consider this good practice. It seems they'd like me to upgrade to Windows 11 from some of the things that have come up during my attempts to sort this mess out. In the meantime I'm grateful that my car manufacturer doesn't feel the need to come by my house to remove things like heated seats, air conditioning, or other features from my car to encourage me to buy a new one.

Thankfully, if that's the right terminology, my wife's Chromebook had a similar issue after an MS update, 2 months ago, so I had bought a USB wifi device which I could use to get working WiFi on my laptop and then get the internal WiFi device up and running - it makes sorting issues out really hard when everything relies on you having WiFi to fix a problem, which is fine until the problem is no Wifi. I think calling it tiresome was the understatement of the year :)

I used this video to try and get my HDMI port working. I'm not sure if it was your instructions, which were very thorough, or my switching my HDMI connection on my TV. In any event I got it to work. I'm very happy with your video helping me to figure this out, with the correct process to find out the different steps needed to figure out what was not working. I have an HP Pavillion dvd-6c.
My power went off & On then the HDMI post stopped working. After connecting & disconnecting, reinstalling drivers, changing cables.... Method 2 finally worked and helped me recover my HDMI port issue. Thank you very much. this video helped me alot. Last thing i wanted to do was to take my PC to a repair professional. This helped. In my case, for connecting two external monitors, it was necessary to use the AMD catalyst control center in order to disconnect the old laptop display so that both monitors worked.
Well you see, my laptop's back-lit screen won't work, so I can't see how to get to the troubleshoot menu and all of that stuff. Is there anything I could do?

I use a small 23 " screen, HDMI works fine. I switch to a big 55" screen, I get HDMI no signal. When the PC is booting, the screen is working, when windows is loading (blue flag and spinning white dots) the screen is working, when it comes on, I get no signal. This started when I update from windows 8.1 to 10. I guess it's putting some settings that can't display on the big TV which is very bad since the screen goes black and you can't change. When I pull the cable out and put it back on the small display it works. The screen is super zoomed in for like 1 second (which tells it changed the settings when connected to the big screen) but it automatically adjusts to the appropriate resolution for the small screen. Please advise if there's a solution to this.

Hey guy, your explanation is clear & precise. good job. I have a HDMI problem. I update the graphic card and somehow the update was no completed with errors. I opened the Device Manager and found that there are "yellow triangles" on the AMD cards. I use the diagnostic method you taught and it seems the error was detected and a restart message was also shown. However, after a restart, the Yellow Triangles are still there and therefore HDMI is still undetected. Can you help ? Thanks

My pc was working fine before my wife unplugged all the cables. Now, when I connect the hdmi to my primary TV no signal. I connected through dvi to another TV and it shows that my hdmi is indeed connected to my primary TV. But no signal on the TV.

So a few months ago, my screen would go black, so I would shut things down, and then reboot and it would work. Yesterday, it went black and never came back. My TV would just say, "no signal". I took my laptop to another TV, to make sure it was my hdmi out and sure enough, my other tv would not show a picture either. I searched this topic on youtube and yours was the first video. I did your steps, I had to select, other for problems detected and it went through it's cycle, then told me to restart computer and then it worked. I was just about ready to go drop another $1k on a laptop, so thank you so much for saving me that money.
I had this problem with my laptop, and I was rebooting shit, updating drivers, unplugging HDMIs, and I even reset the damn tv... nothing. I close the laptop and the open it back up with the HDMI plugged in and it miraculously works again! I swear this laptop is a damn clown!
