Who's listening to this in 2024❤.
i just found this band maybe 6 months ago and i do love their music. my only issue is becuse a few of their songs have untranslated parts i have misinterpreted things. Though Mo ghile maer was about a river lol
i couldnt listen to anything better
Me , bought the original way way back .exelent version .
Been listening to celtic folklore music for a long time but celtic woman was the 1st band and I was blown away by their stories but mostly their Angelic voices
I still am❤
ive seen them live, and they are the most talented women I have ever had to chance to see, even if my fiancé thought they were a bit dramatic!! They are Irish after all!
I never get tired of watching/hearing this they are awesome and Lisa Lambe her voice gives me goosbumps
Lisa Lambe is probably one of the best singers -not that I heard, but ever born. She has this amazing voice which can be both deep and joyful at the same time. At first I wasn't very happy to see her in Celtic Woman, because somehow I felt she had replaced someone from the original formation, but that was before I heard her sing. She left me speechless
I really like Alex and Lynn, but the group lost nothing when Lisa Lambe joined.
Cintia Tchorbadjian I like ALL the members of Celtic Woman, past and present. My favorite was Lisa Kelly, *but even so, I think they are all talented and beautiful*
May 2019, Still my favourit .... This song is my ultimate Christmas Song. With Love from Indonesia.
Those drummers are having so much fun. *^__^* Oh, to love your job so much, eh?
sooo captivating...their beauty, voice, simple dances and looksss...wheeewww..and I call my self straight!
The voice of an angel !!!
Wooow that was amazing your voice is extetsy❤
So magical ✨ 😍
It still stuns and frustrates me how many people mistake and even insist that this song is about Doctor Who. Oh well, it still stands for the nativity of Christ no matter what and Celtic Woman knocks this out of the park.
- Take Care, Beannacht De Duit
While I do agree, you could simplify and say it's about both. After all, if you had a time machine where would you go? Birth of Christ beats the moon landing any day if you ask me.
Same difference. Doctor Who has beter antagonists though.
It's open to interpretation. That's what's so great about music! ❤
Yeah, this song is older than Doctor Who. This is not about Doctor Who, people, it's just not. This song was written in 1976 and it is a Christmas song.
If its about "christ" then its actually about the solar gods who were born on "christmas" for centuries before him. Cus you know...romans adopted pagan traditions and changed them. Learn your history
Still watching...
Fantastic song
Aloha I’m shanebearddj I’m biggest fan ever so cool
Nothing beats the original version. Although I am glad that the song is being heard regardless of this version isn't my taste.
This song is by Chris DeBurgh and was inspired by the book witch he read "Chariots of the Gods? by Erich von Däniken."
I'm like a lady's past comment. I drool to just fit in and wear that dress for five minutes. Then I could give the dance everything I could in my garage before going out in the street to serenade the neighborhood. 🤭
Does she sing this song on the album? Because it sounds exactly like that version....almost like she's lip syncing. And I would hate that :(
You are partially right, she was singing live when the footage was recorded however they have overlaid the album version on top of the video so the sound quality would be better, if that makes sense.
Oops lisa is not miming people who where on the front rows vouched
I really dont care is this a christian song , or whatever , because the song us beautiful
if a alien came to me i would freak XD
"Twas light years since his mission had start"... A light year is a measure of distance... Not time... *Sigh*
Look at it this way: Maybe to US it's distance but to another species it could mean time. Hm?
Hmmm... Yes but... You're not considerign the whole "Unicornium Balance"...
Wade Wilson
Eh? (I am not a genius by any stretch of the imagination, so non-genius English plz and ty?)
I'm just messing with you bro :)
Wade Wilson
Hahahaha~! Good one! :)
Oh, she is a peach of a girl...and she is having a blast singing and being beautiful...just enjoy it or turn if off but I say she is absolutely gorgeous and talented AND...I feel younger and happier just watching her! MERRY CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS to everyone!
Rhonda Davis literally a peach, ginger lol
What a lovley comment. She is so beautiful. It's her happiness that shines through.
An Angel voice is all I hear
beautif performance all round and aeymtting too )) excellent song
If that was me skipping down those steps i woul of fallen and fell on my face lol :/
I was thinking that same thing, I was just thinking "Don't fall whatever you do..."
Those stairs are called by us in the business as the Diana Ross step, they have a certain rise and tread width to make them very easy go transverse in heels and long dresses...
Wow thanks for letting me know!!
Celtic Queen I would still have found a way to trip. And the sad thing is, I would trip going UP the steps. How about you?
Yea, im super clumsy, if she was wearing high heels I would have broken my leg lol
After looking through like 12 pages of comments I have to ask... AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO REALLY WANTS HER DRESS?! >.< its so pretty and looks like so much fun!
me three!
& 4 here ... perhaps we all have green eyes
not all green eyes but yes i want that dress!!!!!
lol i thought i was the only one!
Stella Dalglish d
I just want to wear this dress for 5 minutes then I'll be good for the rest of my life.
If I could just get her OUT of that dress, I'd be good for the rest of my life!!!
Randy
cosmo2524 um yes! Agreed!
Yes it is beautiful. I’d love to see my wife in it.
Agree, its amazing!
@Hello world It's not always the dress. It's the whole package of the person and how they wear it.
If the do a non animated version of Brave she has to be Princess Merida
michael wiseowl That'd be cool! Um says Micheal but your little picture looks like a beautiful redheaded Girl.... Just curious, have a definite thing for Redheads!
Wasn't Kelly McDonald in her late thirties when she voiced Merida?
michael wiseowl She's Irish

These girls are IRISH.
yes!! vry much!!
I want a Doctor Who Christmas episode about this and with this song as a soundtrack, cause it totally fits
omg. Lisa Lambe could totally be 11xRiver's daughter!

The Doctor is my dream role, as an actor. If I get that role, I'll force them to do an episode about this. XD-Steve
mc23243 LOL OMG when my friend sent me this link I was like OHH so its about The Doctor!
This song was written by Chris DeBurgh in 1975. Lisa Lambe does perfect justice to DeBurgh's wonderful song.
Lisa's talents come clear in this rendition .Her beauty, voice and acting stand out in a beautiful performance.
Theme or basis of song, from Wikipedia....
"The song is a narrative of a UFO religion tale ,is a retelling of how the angel Gabriel came to give a message to the shepherds, but with a spaceship and a spaceman instead.
De Burgh seems to make a prophecy of the Second Coming in this song:
"The stranger returned and said 'now I must fly. When two thousand years of your time has gone by. This song will begin once again, to a baby's cry..."
The baby represents the purity with which the Christ will be returning."
Compelling version.Thank you Lisa Lambe
"Her beauty, voice and acting" make this the PERFECT parody / piss take of an incredibly poignant piece of art.
I thought it sound familiar to me but i didn't know where i heard it the first time
Yeah we know
@@Sionnach1601 Well you don't wish good will to your fellow man do you? Such bitchy comments about this young woman and her performance throughout this page. Jealousy is a sin you know...
this IS a good version and she can sing very well but i still prefer the chris deburgh version.
Who is listening to this masterpiece in 2023? 😻
hi 🌝
Me , In Portugal
Me in Glasgow Scotland gives me tingles right to my bones 😊
Me in London England
Me on Christmas Eve!
Gorgeous woman in gorgeous dresses, then the drummer in a manky old tank top!!!! Lol, still great entertainment.
Why is she not voicing a Disney princess yet? She is everything you’d expect from a Disney sweetheart.
Too good for Disney.
She is to good!! to be on disney!!
She won't sell out
I seldom say this but that Lisa Lambe really hits the jackpot with her performance. Not only does she sing/dance in a very enchanting way but she is also an exceedingly beautiful woman which completes everything.
@@DayVid2.0 👀
@@DayVid2.0 she is a proper good singer she dont really do my kind of stuff but she is talented
@@billdoor5025 then why is she miming (badly)?
live for fun
@@DayVid2.0 Uploaders typically edit in the studio track instead of the live track, for the "benefit" of the viewer. Which means the viewer misses out on hearing the unique live performance.
The amazing thing about Celtic Woman is that because the singers are so fantastic, they sound exactly the same live as they do in their recordings.
In my opinion the best Celtic Woman performer ever. Wish Lisa Lambe would come back to Celtic Woman : )
She's got an angel's voice...
my class are doing this song In our Christmas play and I might be the angel
@@siennabush4834 how did it go?!?!?
Isn't it beautiful how she sexualises this solemn and sincere hymn/song with her "angels voice" and hedonistic cavorting around the stage?
Incredible

@@TRASHoftheTITANS Dang you didn’t have to kill the time traveler
She reminds me of Princess Merida both are so energetic and carefree
She's just pretending to be energetic and carefree
+Namelessly nameless. - no - that's not an act

These girls are IRISH
She was the character model for Merida.
A deity gives up all their comforts and privilege of heaven, to come down here and endure torture and a grisly death to try to teach us not to be selfish, greedy, shallow and materialistic. The words of this song were written to evince such wholesome virtues.
Yet here we have a bunch of people who couldn't be more materialistic and shallow if they tried, and they are being PRAISED for it!!!
ISN'T SHE BEAUTIFUL AND SINGS LIKE AN ANGEL.
No, she's a twat to have agreed to do this to such a solemn and important hymn/song.
Sionnach1601 oh give it a rest. 🤐Someone’s fun at parties...😂
@@samantha4130 Exactly. It's NOT a party song.
LYRICS
A spaceman came travelling on his ship from afar,
'Twas light years of time since his mission did start,
And over a village he halted his craft,
And it hung in the sky like a star, just like a star
He followed a light and came down to a shed,
Where a mother and child were lying there on a bed,
A bright light of silver shone round his head,
And he had the face of an angel, and they were afraid
Then the stranger spoke, he said "Do not fear,
I come from a planet a long way from here,
And I bring a message for mankind to hear, "
And suddenly the sweetest music filled the air
And it went La La
Peace and goodwill to all men, and love for the child
This lovely music went trembling through the ground,
And many were wakened on hearing that sound,
And travellers on the road, the village they found,
By the light of that ship in the sky, which shone all round
And just before dawn at the paling of the sky,
The stranger returned and said "Now I must fly,
When two thousand years of your time has gone by,
This song will begin once again, to a baby's cry"
And it went La La This song will begin once again
To a baby's cry
And it goes La La Peace and goodwill to all men, and
Love for the child
The light-year is a unit of distance, not time
I love the re-telling of the birth. It's about time people start realizing that anyone spoken of in the bible that "came down from the clouds/sky" was not an angel....they were aliens.
@@davidsirmons Exactly. We didn't just crawl from the primordial swamp.
That baby was Jesus and the mother was Saint Mary.

Lisa is an amazing addition to Celtic Woman! She has a beautiful, strong voice, she's beautiful, and just knows how to get into a piece and have attitude
Simply beautiful, the singer’s voice, the choreography, the lovely dress. The whole presentation! A joy to behold.
She has a nice voice. Sings candidly beautiful and very gracefull.
I ♥♥♥♥ *Celtic Woman*... and *Lisa Lambe* is a wonderful and welcome recent addition to the group.
{:-)R
She sings so gracefully demonstrated by her _body language_.
Robin Mack Unfortunately, Lisa Lambe left the group at the end of 2014 to pursue a solo career. She just recently released her first album in the U.S. She won't be touring with the group, however, she will do special projects with them.
Thanks John Combs for sharing the info about Lisa Lambe.
+John Combs :P
i'm reading Doctor who fanfic while listening to this .... my brain is trying to think this .... i don't know but i was thinking of Doctor who and the Bible before when i last heard this song and now i think i'm going to think of Doctor who even more the next time i listen to this.
In the Christmas episode "Voyage of the Damned", one of The Doctor's alien companions asked what Christmas was all about. He replied: "Long story. I should know; I was there. I got the last room!"
Anybody here listening to this masterpiece in 2022?
Oui moi !

This song was made for doctor who.
Alma Nac noooooo it wasn't! stahp!
I LOVE this performance!
Beautiful Voice
Wonderful Arrangement
Awesome Stage
Incredible Act
=Celtic Woman
She has the voice of an Angel. PRAISE OUR LORD AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU
I had chills from the begining till the end! I am not a believer, but I am in love with the story of this song. And that voice ... What an angelic voice! I've always been a big fan of Celtic Woman and Celtic music, and I don't regret it!
Just because they're dancing doesn't mean they're not doing it live. You can train your voice not to bounce. Like, I'm not a singer but I did marching band and by that logic we wouldn't have been able to march and play at the same time because you'd hear our air bouncing when we moved. You simply train yourself to move smoothly and control your air. It's not an impossible thing.
Not an impossible thing especially for professionals as these women are.
She's not opening her mouth wide enough to the words, it's totally obvious. I'm an opera singer and have trained with trainers from Europe for 10 years and have done many competitions and I still stumble even just by walking. You can train but honestly it's never usually a success.
HelloKatie X2 Opera training is far different from this. As with the person who wrote the original comment . I too was in marching band. I am also a vocalist myself. In my experience playing a wind instrument is barely different from singing. My teaching is not classical and I can not only walk but do some choreography while singing and do so well. Please do not assume extreme classical training applies to all vocal and performance styles. It doesn't.
she is one of the most prettiest girls I have ever seen. IRISH Lassie. I'm IRISH too
Hopefully not as stupid or as vain as her.
Sionnach1601 woah, chill.
That is the fantastic Lisa Lambe, current member of Celtic Woman. Our Lil Lambe is beautiful talented and kind.
This is so beautiful, really! In every way - the girls, the music, voice, lyrics. I dont see why ppl complain about this being worse than the original. Thats nice too but this ... a whole other level of beautiful.
Sunflower Ministries that's what I was saying. I agree with you.
This performance of the song is THE VERY opposite of what the song is trying to tell people! Ego, hedonism and pleasure VS sacrifice, service and forgiveness.
If one wanted to do a ridiculing parody of the message in the song they couldn't have done a better job! All you have described that you have seen is the glitz and glamour - the very opposite of the song. It couldn't be more ill-fitting and in such bad taste.
the song and dress are amazing but am i the only one thinking if i attempted to dance down the stairs like that in heels that i woulld have broke my neck im so jealous of her gracefulness
I love this song and this is a great rendition but good lord that is some goofy dancing haha
I know right lol
goofy dancing from the blue whales
But nothing can beat Chris de burgs voice
yes,,he sang more beautiful ,,this preform here is terrible
Adi Miller yes indeed
I do agree that it sounds a lot like Doctor Who, and that makes me smile. Especially with all the blue on the stage, it's perfect, even though it isn't based on the show or anything. It reminds me of Trenzalore and the Town Called Christmas.
she has an angels voice.. definately one of the most amazing voices ive ever heard
Stunning woman fantastic voice awesome dress and a happy listener...... me..... MERRY CHRISTMAS x
to be honest I still like the original by Chris de Burgh. I love his music and lyrics! amazing. but this was really good too! I love the Celtic Women :)
I only hope Heaven sounds this beautiful
Magnificently moving !!! Thank you so much for sharing this jewel !!!
She must've been a bellydancer at one point
God, it's so easy to tell it's not even funny
Just

What am I doing jesus...
Is it about the angel Gabriel scene? I'm sure it is

I don't care what you say, I quite enjoy the goofy dancing 😂
Goofy dancing is a perfect sum up. Or attention seeking. Great song ruined.
The Gargantuan Gorganzola so do I.

I uh. . . don't see any part of goofy dancing
It took me five minutes to convince my friend this was NOT about The Doctor......
Wait, it's not?
Nuneven No it is.
I'm not even a Doctor Who fan and I thought it was
Nothing will convince me it's not...
Yes it is similar, but not Doctor Who.
Chris De Burgh found the idea intriguing that perhaps the star of Jerusalem was a spacecraft and maybe what we believed to be spiritual beings were just aliens from another galaxy.
Lisa Lambe is the most beautiful and perfect women ever.
+Merlina Addams ...no...my wife is.
+kiwigecko1 someone wants to get laid....
jordan williams
Sweet as.!
+Merlina Addams Is this the front vocalist?
Well, she may be, in some people's eyes, but as a performer she's way off in misreading the tone of this song while she and the gals are dancing to Mambo No. 5 :)
+Sionnach1601 Sounds like some serious hating on your part. She did a great job on this song. Dance, sing upon the lord. I believe her version has opened the song up to many who would have never listened to the original. You do realize you are suppose to rejoice unto the lord and not be a depressed stick in the mud? Some of the denominations have twisted it into being very low energy.
She has an amazing voice! This is my all time Christmas song as when I was about 6 years old I used to be helping mum put up the decorations and this song used to be on all the time :)
I'm new to the Celtic Woman world and this song has captivated me. I've searched UA-cam for all of the other artist's versions and it is very, plainly, evident that this performance by Lisa is The Very Best of them all. After this I suggest than nobody ever again should waste precious oxygen by trying to perform this song.
Its soooo cathy! I can't stop listening this :D Perfect melody, great arrangement, a beaaautiful voice, what more can you wish ^^
I don't care what this song is about, it totally fits to Doctor Who
Haha. It's sounds like that doesn't it! XD
mc23243 how does thus fit to doctor who?
It’s about Jesus’ birth.
@@claramcharg3310 They don't get it. The performance of the song is THE VERY opposite of what the song is trying to tell people. Unadulterated hedonism and pleasure. It almost seems deliberate.
@@Sionnach1601 I see no hedonism here. And an expression of pleasure would not be inappropriate since, to Christians, the birth of Jesus was a joyous-and dare I say- pleasure inducing event for later people. The elaborate choreography can easily be understood as a type of liturgical dance as well. (a physical interpretation of the spoken message) The performance exudes a sense of happiness and energy. Think of it this way.... if something really wonderful happened to you, would you want your loved ones to be all somber and aloof, or would you want them to be rejoicing with you ?
You should be proud way to go appreciate your singing best wishes to everyone at celtic woman really appreciate your style and singing you guys rock thanks ! Joe
The Lady in Red hair is a great singer and a goofy dancer! I totally approve!
She's name is Lisa Lambe
Fabulous performance by Lisa Lambe and the orchestra under David Downes.
It's impressive enough to me that she makes her arm-twirls look so graceful (I totally feel like I look like a loon imitating them at home even if no one can see me).
But I still, no matter how many times I watch this vid, can't get over how she literally bounces down those short slippy-looking steps in high heels and a pouffy dress without even looking and not only doesn't slip but doesn't fall and break an ankle. I have, no lie, fallen down stairs that I *could* (mostly) see and broken my ankle -- and I wasn't even wearing heels! : o
Greetings from Bonnie Scotland - I would just like to say = PEACE AND GOODWILL TO ALL HUMANITY.
You as well my Brother
Lisa Lambe has such a beautiful voice and is incredibly beautiful!
This lady has a beautiful voice. Excellent original song by Chris de burgh. I've lost count how many times I've listened to this song by this lady. She melts my heart.
SO YESHUA IS AN ALIEN FROM ANOTHER PLANET?
originally written by Chris de burg on his ' don't pay the ferryman ' album ' from years ago. both versions are excellent
Originally from the 1975 album "Spanish Train & Other Stories". I first heard it when Chris De Burgh was the supporting act for Supertramp, November 1977.
This version is different but I like both.
I love all the Celtic Women, but Lisa Lambe completely stands out from the rest with her angelic voice, passionate expression, and graceful movements on stage! She's a sassy Tinkerbell!!! I hope she'll come back for another concert special or something, but after 10 years I won't hold my breath😢
0:28 I love this song. I honestly do. But the inner nerd inside me can't help but scream, "A LIGHT YEAR IS A MEASURE OF DISTANCE, NOT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That's like saying "twas inches of time since his mission did start".
Oh well. It's still amazing.
It's both, the definition of a light year is the distance travelled by light in one year! So yes, it has time in it, a year!!!!!
Peppermint has it correct. A light year is a measure of distance => how far does light travel in one year.
Because time travels at the speed of light what you see a a few light years away is actually happening right now.
Space-Time is a continuum. Ask Einstein. Physics is mind-boggling.
Richard Feynman said that a Positron is an Electron going backwards in time.
Calm down lol
it sounds like you're taking it too literally
I feel like a burning Wickerman should be in the background
I love how shes skipping around the stage :) and this made me think of doctor who
An interesting fact that if a spaceman really did come travelling and travelled close to the speed of light because of time dilation Travelling at 99.99999 percent of the speed of light, for a year, more than 2000 years would pass on earth. So for the traveller they would have only aged about a year while 2000 years would have passed on earth
If you believe in masonic space jargon science. Then im sure that's true in your mind.
@@redknight9740 No, time dilation and other predictions of special and general relativity has been experimentally verified. In fact all of the special relativity can be derived from the assumption that speed of light is the same for all observers (and that assumption has also been verified to very high precision).
I feel like if I where her, I would accidentally whack myself by swinging my arms around like that. Then again i'm extremely uncoordinated...
It's been 6 years since I last heard Celtic Women and this song will always be my favorite. Literally been searching for this song for more than an three hours lol. Now I know it's A Spaceman came Travelling not "And it went la la la la la ...)🤣🤣
I've heard that version first in 2020. It is the best one of these because of it's very happy performing which comes to one selves by listening this song.
Wunderschön
Lovely lady, expressive, emotional and exceptional. WOW! what a fantastic performance.
I've head many people sing this song, but this version sung by this beautiful red head is the very best version yet, better than Chris DeBurgh's version. The pounding of the drums and her wonderful voice and actions on stage has made me view this video at least 25 times. great job. Sounds great loud.
I love Lisa's voice! It's amazing how she can sing so pure while she's running and dancing on the stage. Love it!
yes that is rather unbelievable, i am wondering if they have dubbed a studio recording of her vocal on afterwards for this video, i would not have expected this pristine sound quality from that little stick mic, no handling noise, hair flicking against the mic, and i think a touch of autotune has been employed post production also.
This was one of the first Celtic Woman song that I heard, and saw. I got home from work one night, turned on the TV, checked the TV guide and saw the name Celtic Woman on PBS, thought I'd check it out. this song quickly became one of my favorites, and with me that's not easy.
These ladies are awesome.......They do great work for singing!!
Lisa Lambe was and will always be one of the BEST Celtic Woman!!!
so I had this up in another window, heard the lyric and thought "oh my god, is she talking about the doctor??" was VERY glad to see others thought the same thing.
Get out of the past it's 2024 Iove Lisa Lambe she has earned a place in my Heart ❤️
She could sing me to sleep anytime
also stop linking this to doctor who. doctor who is shit and this is great and nothing to do with it what do ever
It's about Doctor Who ? XD
Anyway, beautiful voice and song ^^
Now there's a woman who loves her job. : ) She really seems to enjoy singing, and I enjoy listening to it. I love CW, every lady in the group has a lovely voice. I could listen to them w/o seeing them and still enjoy their music, but their joy in performing is part of the appeal of watching them.
