I love how this song begins with just one voice, then grows by adding harmony voicals, then a fiddle, percussion, orchestra, choir, and bagpipes. Celtic Woman has always been amazing at taking a show from a single voice to a theater filled with sound. A well deserved standing ovation.
My mother and I attended this show. We held hands and cried during this song. As we left the hall, we went in opposite directions having driven separately. I remember turning around to see her exit the glass doors across the lobby. A strange feeling came over me and I shook it off. 2 nights later, she passed away at a young 68. One hour after we said " I love yous" on the phone. Sudden and without warning. Cherish every moment. We see Celtic Woman every time round and feel doubly blessed to have shared those moments. ❤
Thank you for sharing your story! I lost my mom in the same unexpected fashion, and Celtic Woman's You Raise Me Up and Amazing Grace helped get me through. And Parting Glass brings me to tears. Thank you for sharing.
To all who lost their loved ones I feel your pain let's raise a glass while this is playing and thank them for being part of our lives and wish them safe journey and we will meet again one day These ladies are outstanding amazing voices true angels

This song is best sung at an Irish funeral. I'm pretty sure it would've been great for my grandparents funerals. They died 3 years apart, and my family is missing them. But my grandparents are with Jesus and i will see them again. Praise God.
I saw them on show yesterday and it was pure magic. For 2 hours, I was transported in this fairy world where angels sings incredible songs. Thank you Celtic woman for this beautiful journey
I'm on a train right now and people are looking at me weird, but I am tearing up hearing this. It reminds me of lost loved ones, and it felt like they were all hugging me as I thought of them. I now know what I want played at my funeral, too. Loved it ❤

Almost anytime I see these three women sing together, I get all choked up... It is so touching to the heart and sentiments to experience someone demonstrating such excellence and beauty. Reminiscent of a much more peaceful world...that we so lack today. Please play this at my funeral, as well.
There's a lot of people commenting about how happy they look and sound, despite the song being about saying that final farewell. I can understand where they're coming from but these lovely ladies somehow manage to take that goodbye and turn it into a celebration of life, less so about the heartbreak of loss and death.
What's even better, is that these are their TRUE voices, unlike most Pop star's nowadays where their voices are mostly fixed and pitched higher so in reality, they sound awful. But these girls are pure voice, I would know because I seen them live and I just adored them!

I could never get tired of hearing their voices. Thank you for sharing your voices for us all to enjoy. My mom spoke of you all a few years ago. We have always shared taste in much of the same music. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when she told me about Celtic Woman. She was changing and growing more with her taste in music. I was thrilled with what I found. This is the first time I have heard this tune, yet, after years of listening to Celtic Tunes, it still has a haunting beauty to it, one of the reasons why I feel Celtic Music, along with Classical and Opera, are still the best Music Genres around.
My earliest memory of this beautiful song was hearing Jerry Lewis torture himself by trying to sing this at the end of his yearly Telethon for MDA. He would start off, but I don't ever recall him getting through to the end before he would break down sobbing and someone would lead him off the stage. Thank you for sharing the Celtic Woman's amazing rendition of this song.

This is an outstanding song - one of Celtic Woman's best and it will always bring a tear to the eye! Beautifully done. "So fill to me the parting glass, and drink a' health whate'er befalls, then gently rise and softly call "goodnight, and joy be to you all."
Dude. Goosebumps everywhere. Holy crap. This is amazing. I just put a cover of this up on my channel this morning, so I'm going around on youtube listening to all the different versions people have done. This is my favorite so far! I love it!
That is not the Irish flag - the Irish flag is the other way around. The green is closest to the flagpole, then white with orange last. You have the Ivory Coast flag.
I’m brazilian and i watched celtic woman in São Paulo in 2019 at Credicard hall and i loved the presentation. Everybody should hear celtic woman. They’re great
Told my wife that when the time comes that I should rise I hope this video can be projected at the close of my memorial service. Hope to have pipers anyway, but the beautiful voices of CW and the confetti cannons can't be done justice in our wee church ;) I did however walk my daughter down the aisle in full dress preceded by a local piper!
AC4 brought most of us here it seems. The feels man, the feels. Assassins creed has been diving deeper into the Templar/Assassin story for a few games now, to a point it's almost been becoming inaccessible to new players. AC4 was great because it was a story, plain and simple, about a man, his family, and the friends he lost because of his reckless ambition. It's about realizing the cost of greed, and discovering the things in life that are truly worth holding on to. Its a story we can all relate to.
Edward was a real pirate until the end, he sacrified everything, and did horrible things because he thought he'll get an incredible treasure. His own greed is the reason he lost all his friends. He had to lose everything to become a new man. As Ezio, who lost everything to discover there was more than his own person.
Actually I knew this song months before the release, because we watched "Ned Divine" in school. Then I fell in love and I listened to sing song everytime.
Nope, I first heard this song when PBS aired the Celtic Woman "Believe" concert in December of 2011 (well before AC4 was released in October of 2013). I have since heard it done live three times by Celtic Woman (the 2nd time, I actually got to *meet* them in-person back stage). While this is recording of the live Believe concert is good, hearing it done live in-concert just completely blows you away. In only a few more weeks, I get to hear them again from almost dead-center in the 2nd row.
I played this song moments after my dear sister passed at home, We all had a shot of whiskey or vodka, listening to the song smiling at each other, My sister was sent off on a good journey with a toast and a prayer, the love of her family, and a beautiful song.
I found these amazing women by accident flipping channel here in the USA they were on PBS and ever since then I’ve been a fan. I wanna one day see them live.
their harmonies remind me of a harmonica - and i know that sounds stupid, but when you play a harmonica, everything that comes out fits so well together, because all those notes come out from the same instrument. and when they sing together, it doesn't sound like one voice trying to fit with one voice - it just sounds like one pure sound. there's a unity to their singing that i don't think i've seen equaled, and i think that's really cool.
I think that you have made a very meaningful observation. Listening to them with this insight I agree totally. Thank you for posting it. - - - Roger J. Sledz, Staten Island ( New York City ), 4/22/2019 - - -
Of all the money that e'er I had I have spent it in good company Oh and all the harm I've ever done Alas, it was to none but me And all I've done for want of wit To memory now I can't recall So fill to me the parting glass Good night and joy be to you all So fill to me the parting glass And drink a health whate'er befalls Then gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all Of all the comrades that e'er I had They're sorry for my going away And all the sweethearts that e'er I had They would wish me one more day to stay But since it fell into my lot That I should rise and you should not I'll gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all So fill to me the parting glass And drink a health whate'er befalls Then gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all But since it fell into my lot That I should rise and you should not I'll gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all So fill to me the parting glass And drink a health whate'er befalls Then gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all Good night and joy be to you all
Their music is magical. And they are not lip-syncing. I can hear the blending of the violin sound to their voices especially when the girl in violin came to them~
This version is good but the best one in my opinion is by the high kings. An absolutely beautiful version and anyone who likes this song should deffinatly check it out.

John G., I had practically every album the Clancy Brothers (and Tommy Makem) ever made and could sing the words and melodies by heart, even some of the Gaelic songs. Around St. Patrick's day I went with friends several times to see and hear them live at Carnegie Hall in NYC. I loved them, and wish they were still around. They were much more authentically folk singers with their simpler, rougher, more "authentic" versions of Irish ballads, sea chanties, songs of rebellion, drinking songs, etc. They ended every concert with "The Parting Glass." But that doesn't mean that I don't love the Celtic Woman too, with their highly arranged, orchestrated, harmonized versions of Celtic music. Despite their quite different style, I find what they do quite beautiful and often thrilling. There's room in my life and in the world for different approaches to beauty, as there's more than enough ugliness around.
I said I HAD never heard that song before (before the Believe broadcast on PBS). I have since heard it done twice live and both times, it was great. Celtic Woman did nothing to decrease its beauty. In fact, since then, I listened to the other versions and while there are some really good ones, I still tend to like the Celtic Woman version the most.
I remember singing this with my cousins at my great grandmas funeral... I teared up as I sang the first chorus I'll never forget the bagpipes that accompanied my and my cousins

Of all the money that e'er I had

And all the harm I've ever done
Alas it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To mem'ry now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate’er befalls
And gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Of all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They'd wish me one more day to stay
But since it fell unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate’er befalls
And gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
La La
But since it fell unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate’er befalls
And gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Good night and joy be to you all.

Dude. Goosebumps everywhere. Holy crap. This is amazing. I just put a cover of this up on my channel this morning, so I'm going around on youtube listening to all the different versions people have done. This is my favorite so far! I love it!
This group are amazing. Was lovely discovering them. 🇨🇮💚
That's the Ivory Coast flag you're using there
That is not the Irish flag - the Irish flag is the other way around. The green is closest to the flagpole, then white with orange last. You have the Ivory Coast flag.
Perfect! Feeling the Oneness is the feeling of Heaven ~~❤~~ May the Peace and Joy of Christ be with you all forever and ever! xx
And also with you, friend! God bless and keep you.
Ohhh! This was at the Fox Theatre, Atlanta
I think this was actually in 2012, but they've probably performed there in 2010 :)
Avian Royalty Right, you are :)
:)
Absolutely fantastic 💗💚 so beautiful and so much time put into your craft. Wow. Just wow💗💚🙌
I've left instructions years ago that this will be the final song played at my memorial service. Excellent rendition.
In only a few more weeks, I get to hear them again from almost dead-center in the 2nd row.
actually, ed sheeran brought me here.
Jarsia AC 4 was Black Flag no?
The high note at the end gets me every time
I played this song moments after my dear sister passed at home, We all had a shot of whiskey or vodka, listening to the song smiling at each other, My sister was sent off on a good journey with a toast and a prayer, the love of her family, and a beautiful song.
Song is so gloriously sung. The choreography..... Off the scale. Absolute Joy
Dear god, 2:38 brought goose bumps and a tear to my eyes. I love CW, they are so amazing good :D
I love this song on bagpipes, they sound just as magical playing Caledonia by Celtic Thunder
I love the three of them singing that song it is fantastic xxxx
I found these amazing women by accident flipping channel here in the USA they were on PBS and ever since then I’ve been a fan. I wanna one day see them live.
went to see Celtic women on Liverpool Philharmonic they were brilliant such great voices really enjoyed the experience.
You're so lucky!! I'd kill to see these gals live!
their harmonies remind me of a harmonica - and i know that sounds stupid, but when you play a harmonica, everything that comes out fits so well together, because all those notes come out from the same instrument. and when they sing together, it doesn't sound like one voice trying to fit with one voice - it just sounds like one pure sound. there's a unity to their singing that i don't think i've seen equaled, and i think that's really cool.
TheLastHylianTitan and where do you think it got the name from?
I think that you have made a very meaningful observation. Listening to them
with this insight I agree totally. Thank you for posting it.

Chloe Agnew, Lisa Lambe, Lisa Kelly and Mairead Nesbitt (violin) reach into your soul. Those bagpipes! And a spectacular percussion accompaniment!
Of all the money that e'er I had
I have spent it in good company
Oh and all the harm I've ever done
Alas, it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Of all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They would wish me one more day to stay
But since it fell into my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
But since it fell into my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Good night and joy be to you all
Learned of these ladies and their soothing voices on PBS when channel surfing one day....I'm still impressed
I love Celtic Woman and Celtic Thunder music
I told my family this was the song I wanted god to take me home I’m proud. Of heritage of being Irish and Scottish
This is one of my favorite versions. Just lovely
I just love the song The Parting Glass. What a beautiful song Celtic Women sing.
Their music is magical.
And they are not lip-syncing. I can hear the blending of the violin sound to their voices especially when the girl in violin came to them~
Fantastic performance by Celtic Woman and the pipes , great work by David Downes who put it all together from day one.
To my irish Brothers and sisters with love from Scotland :)
Long live the Queen!
These 4 are my favorites
These women are angels
My father passed 4-01-22, this song reminds of him and this is the most angelic version. I am still drying.
This version is good but the best one in my opinion is by the high kings. An absolutely beautiful version and anyone who likes this song should deffinatly check it out.
This is the best song ever sung by Celtic Woman😱💖

Thank you very much for all the effort it took you to type in all these lyrics. I can now understand every word; added to the beautiful
voices and music. Having the words makes this song so much more enjoyable.

Thank you.
Thanks!
Thank you Bethany!
Great stuff, love it
No one does it better than Celtic woman.
I agree with your comment!
I said I HAD never heard that song before (before the Believe broadcast on PBS). I have since heard it done twice live and both times, it was great. Celtic Woman did nothing to decrease its beauty. In fact, since then, I listened to the other versions and while there are some really good ones, I still tend to like the Celtic Woman version the most.
love the way you ladies sing, beautiful :)
My mom and I also loved this song rest in peace mom 6-20 21
I remember singing this with my cousins at my great grandmas funeral... I teared up as I sang the first chorus I'll never forget the bagpipes that accompanied my and my cousins
O my gosh, you are so right!!! I totally like Celtic Woman a LOT more than today's pop.
I was so happy when they sang this at their concert last Friday.
Forgot to play this at the end of 2020, but frankly, 2020 doesn't deserve such beautiful music. Here's hoping 2021 is better!
