Well, shoot, mate, thank you for sharing this..
    1) you helped me not miss that odd O-ring gasket ..
    2) WOW oh mighty, really want to get my hands on one of those dremel/extension/polishing wheels.. like WOW ! good.
    3) you and I clean carburetors differently - like I'm about blowing it ALL apart - with focus on getting all rubber parts off - then ultrasonic cleaning EVERYTHING ELSE.. the bodies, the components, etc.
    4) ALL rubber O-rings get rinsed and coated with oil.
    5) ALL diaphragms get rinsed [with something like Simple Green] then soaked in 303 Aerospace for moisturizing/longevity
    6) half-ass NOTHING - (like BOTH the 'power valves') ****
    7) ALL rubber gaskets (whether new or replacements) get coated with grease, or petroleum jelly prior to fitment
    8) lots of carb/brake cleaner - followed by lots of compressed air prior to assembly
Mad respect - and SUPER appreciate this content !! I for one am into my '94 900ss/sp carburetors due to poor starting [ALARMING ASS BACKFIREING (upon rough startup)] - suspect mostly due to worn emulsion tubes*
*Factory Pro sells a kit with titanium needles and nickle-plated emulsion tubes in effort to alleviate this failure point.
(then yes - seems like I've picked up on a future/later-on video where you went with a set of Keihin flat-sides)
.. so, in any event, thank you again for posting this - or I would have [OH SHIT!!] missed that odd O-ring you pointed out.
**** pretty sure it was the great Peter Egan who once wrote something to effect of "carburetors can be frustrating - as in you blow them apart, clean them, put them back together - then never really have that "AH HA !! " moment where you get to see what was wrong.."
    Cheers mate from Wisconsin !
    Rock on !

Thanks for that, I really need to get an ultrasonic cleaner. When they were synced up, they ran great. But, here me out, the 40mm flat sides, like a whole new bike, best money I've spent so far. At 6K it's like a rocket booster goes off. Head over to power-barn.com They assemble in house and supply everything to make it run. They are bench tuned and fired right up.

I miss reading Peter Eagan. I'm gonna start doing that again, thanks.

@@ELDESTBuilds oh man - I do daydream about the Keihins - and I have yet to hear ANYONE regret going with them.. and I'm a big fan of better fuel economy (i tend to 'sport tour' over being Mr. Racey Guy)
      Someday..
      Cheers !
