Lovely to see you! And once again impeccable timing- got a brand new toddler who just started throwing tantrums this week 😅 You are glowing and we so appreciate you mama!
I’m still pregnant with my first, but my own parents tried to avoid “no” also! They were more of the approach that you mentioned with “yuck”, tho. Rather than say “don’t do that” or “no” they would just tell us the consequences. For example, if we were running somewhere we shouldn’t have been they might say, “that will hurt you” or “you’re going to fall”. When we did, we learned to trust what our parents said to us, and we turned out to be extremely well-behaved children everywhere out in public.
Yes! Everything you touched on is exactly what I have been doing for years and have shared with my friends. It definitely works. For laundry I give my child the job of finding all of the socks and then try and match them. So less stressful.
Something about the no and dont do thing you said. Im a child educator and what you said is so true. Not only does it remind them of what they wanted to do like "dont touch it", it doesnt tell them the expected action. Ok you dont touch it... You throw it, lick it, pock it, kick it... But if you say "can we use something else to play?" They will have to think and make a choice theyll get a good reaction for! It helps them develop their judgement as well as decision making.
Sage is soooo cute! Yes please to the food hack video 🙌 I got out a blueberry stain out the other day w lemon juice and some dots of dish soap. Treat stain as soon as you can and make sure it's out before you put in dryer.
My kiddo loves helping to sort laundry, she was about 9 months when she started and she's such a big help! I give her all the bibs and burp cloths and she moves them from one pile to the other, it's so cute!
Everything in this video is amazing! You have it all spot on! Doing an amazing job for a new mum🤗 I have 8yo, 5yo, 3m old. I'm telling you now 👌 keep at it. I always get compliments on how well behaved my 2 are. They are amazing little soles 🥰 Im so proud of them every day!
Teaching children the power of the word no is very important (literally teaching them consent!). But it is important to use it appropriately in a way that teaches boundaries instead of it being a default.
I agree and I also think that when overused it takes away the meaning behind it. I would rather save it for when she is in actual danger so she knows when I say no I mean it.
My daughter loves the Caroline cupboard. She also has a "treasure" box in the kitchen just toys for the kitchen. It is the only way I can work in the kitchen.
I need to try that electronic toothbrush hack! It really is a toddler’s dream to show us their gymnastic skills while trying to change a poopy diaper 🥴😂
Hi Nicole I got a question about the high chair what is that attached to a surface how safe is it I just worry about falling out that’s why I’m still on the fence about purchasing.. I also love the part where he said Sage likes to show you all her gymnastic tricks during diaper change and I laughed so hard because my daughter is the same way and I have to give her something to distract her with might give the toothbrush a go
Thanks! I’m definitely going to try the changing area hack. My 11 month old doesn’t want to go in the dark bedroom to be changed either. I take him and start singing “ the wheels on the bus….” And I give him something to play with but he definitely doesn’t like it. Happy Easter!
I'm saddened that I can't find anti-inflammatory sea salt snacks because of the seed oils they use. I used to get away with it but now with an autoimmune disease I can't. I WISH you could help me track down those healthy sea salt good oil salty snacks with no sugar or preservatives. Praying. Update: I'm sorry Nikole, I'm thinking Keto as well to keep my simple carbs down in between meals with a thyroid disease which is one of the few ways to keep my much needed weight down because my numbers are so well I can't take medication.
A quick example would be: let’s leave that alone it could hurt you instead of NO put that down. I feel that the first word always being no ends up getting them angry right away so instead I try to switch it up and explain why she can’t play with it.
OMG my daughter is literally at the stage too where she TOUCHES EVERYTHING too! Thank you for this tip! It's such a habit to say "those negative words"
I really appreciate your strategy on redirecting them to something else instead of saying no. What do you do in situations where the baby is doing something that would be a serious safety risk, and it isn’t just something that would be annoying to the adults? So like if she climbed onto the dishwasher when it was down and tried to grab a knife? How do you teach her that she truly cannot be touching the knife? Redirecting just seems like diverting her attention, but does she actually ever learn that she shouldn’t be touching the knife? I hope that makes sense. I would much rather not have to say the word no 1 million times a day. 🤗😁
Yes exactly we definitely still use no but I think it’s over used. If she’s in a dangerous situation I get serious and make it very apparent that it’s a hard no.
You better lineup your next distractions because she's gonna get bored of the toothbrush sooner than you think. Even though I hid them after nappy change. So far I've gone through a multiple colors click pen, a compact mirror, my floss, a Mickey mouse bobblehead, some squeaky toys and a tiny old-fashioned alarm clock (that I always set to ring/ vibrate) to name a few and my baby is just 1 year old :v

As for berry stains on clothes I always use hot water an vinegar an let it sit for about 5 minutes, give it a rinse and they are as good as new!

Ooh I love that idea!
I cackle laughed when sage was throwing the stacking cups off the counter and you walked by hahhahaha TRUTH
Wishing you Matt, Sage, Cashew and Chloe a Happy Easter 🐣🐇
We've just started the electric toothbrush changing hack and omg you're a genius! Works perfectly, changes are so quick and easy now. Thank you!

So many helpful tips. I’d love to see toddler food ideas/hacks 😊

I’m going to try the lemon juice!

My 9 month old lol can't get a video of her cruising that much but during a diaper change she's cruised the whole room at lightning speed lol
I love this video very informative.

You're an amazing mom!
I’m not a mom but these are great tips!
Very helpful video as my baby girl is 11 months old now and she gets crazy all the time I change her diaper and ended up showing her fav songs

We've been having such a difficult time with our 2 year old lately! Reading Janet Lansbury's blog and books have been a MAJOR game changer!
YES YES YES to Janet Lansbury (and everything she learned from RIE!)!
Isn’t she brilliant! I love her podcast
Great tips and I’m definitely going to try with my one year old!
Let me know how it goes!
Good video… I also appreciate the time stamps! 😄👍🏻
My daughter is 11, but I still love watching for the sweet Sage content 🥰
Toddlers all over the world are obsessed with the router 🤦🏼♀️😅 Im in the UK and our babies here keep going for it!
Cool hacks. Smart to leave a cupboard for her to play in and not change in her bedroom.
Thanks! I’m definitely going to try the changing area hack. My 11 month old doesn’t want to go in the dark
bedroom to be changed either.
I take him and start singing “ the wheels on the bus….” And I give him something to play with but he definitely doesn’t like it.
Happy Easter!
Let me know how it goes! I honestly find it’s made a huge difference for us
Those Megablocks have a prop 65 cancer warning

Was a waiting for your video my fav channel much ❤
Happy Easter🎉
Isn’t the lego abit too dangerous during bath time? Since they can step on them? Unless its the soft ones .
Hi, thanks for the hacks! Do you have any suggestions for what to do instead of saying no when you can't get up and redirect them?
A quick example would be: let’s leave that alone it could hurt you instead of NO put that down. I feel that the first word always being no ends up getting them angry right away so instead I try to switch it up and explain why she can’t play with it.
@@HealthNutNutrition thanks a lot, I'll try that!
Toys in the bath also cleans the toys!
Yes it’s a nice added bonus!
I’m gonna have to get an electric toothbrush lol
Bigg hii to sage and Nicole🥰
Good Hacks Nikole! 🥰❤
At 8:45, Sage had me cryingggg 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good 👍
Love your shirt. Can you link it?!?
OMG my daughter is literally at the stage too where she TOUCHES EVERYTHING too! Thank you for this tip! It's such a habit to say "those negative words"
It’s a lot 😅
Once you’re back home, do you think you will get the helper tower for the kitchen for Sage?
Yes! I can’t wait for things like that with sage
@@HealthNutNutrition ❤️

Nikole said somewhere she uses "no" for dangerous situations. My niece used to sit next to electric plugs and go "no no
no".😂
Yes exactly we definitely still use no but I think it’s over used. If she’s in a dangerous situation I get serious and make it very apparent that it’s a hard no.
Good
Love this! It was very good advice! Also where are her shoes from? I love them
Target ☺️
@@HealthNutNutrition thank you ❤️ and sage is very beautiful btw! She’s getting so big time is passing so fast!
Very useful video
Food videos please don't know if I could have as much patience as you.
Ahaha, toothbrush! we also use it for distraction😅
Where is your sweater from? Thanks!
Aerie ☺️
Thanks for these helpful hacks! Love Sage’s sneaks with bows. Can I ask where you found them?
Target! They have so many great toddler shoes
I need to practice on not saying no 😅😅

And I obviously know that. Plus her child is older so she's definitely more experienced, which is why I watch her videos. Duh
Lol it sure wasn't my way of telling her I know better. We're all just sharing here. Peace
Oh, I wish Built Bar was lactose-free! :(
Now u put videos once in a week?
No still two but we’ve been traveling with a toddler so doing what we can 😉 there will be another video up on Saturday instead of Friday this week!
