Roger strength is knowing all the possible defence, and shutting them down as he progresses for an attack, he is so good that he simplified his decision making to the most basic approach. Yet, if he didn't explain the moves, we would not have understood his decision making process. GOAT👍
2 legends. Roger is the GOAT. I always find every Roger Gracie video is brimming with useful info more than anyone else. Its basic jiu jitsu but mastered
The detail when mounting and having the shin go over their bicep then sitting back and cupping the elbow as you slide your leg it. It is little details like this done at a high level that make him the best. There are no blackbelt moves just moves done with blackbelt level details.
When you see Bernardo, a world champion and bad ass scrunching up his eyes and wincing just from pressure, you get a glimpse of what Roger is capable of
I really enjoy how Roger demonstrates how Jiu Jitsu is incredibly logical and simple...yet so technical and masterful at the same time! It's pure leverage, weight distribution and technique.
very amusing the face Roger passes to Bernardo palm when touching Roger's knee :) Also i was amused by the fact that Roger tied up Bernardo's belt. good job legends!
Having experienced Henry first hand and hearing stories from a number of people who have trained with Roger, it’s about the same from what I can estimate.
The favorite side control position for Roger is knee near the elbow, but I imagine that in this position, the pressure is much less strong for the opponent. Personally I prefer the position with outstretched leg to increase my pressure control
with all due respect, why would you not follow the advice of this highly decorated legend of the sport instead of your own (potentially flawed) reasoning?
@@michaeldubery3593 Because everyone feels the effectiveness of a technique differently. Just because a champion or grandmaster uses a way, a detail, doesn't mean it will work. I give my feelings, and the idea I have on my technique, not on someone else's. With all the respect I have for him of course
I seem to have more luck with heavy chest to chest pressure, as well. When I concentrate on blocking the hips the squirrelly guys tend to start to build frames and create too much space.
@@chrisbaldwin3148 what OP described (heavy chest to chest pressure with knees off the ground) is something I learnt from a Roger black belt. I also prefer that position since the crossface usually makes them react or open up their arms.
Yep, Bernardo tried a new and novel way to keep him from mounting ("let's talk about side control"), STILL didn't work! Think of other places Roger can probably find mount from: Doctor: O.k. lets take a look at your back to check that cut...Roger turns in and faces him, and passes straight to mount! God: kneel before my might...Roger mounts him etc...
Roger: *ties Bernardo's belt
Bernardo: huge honor for me
Roger: **ties Bernardo's Belt**
Bernardo: That's Incredible.
😂😂😂
Only Roger could make tying Bernardo's belt look totally normal.
the GOAT
Bruh that shit killed me
💀
😂 So meticulous…🐐
😂

Bernardo's stifled "Yep" indicate the amount of pressure he is under. 😂
Roger Gracie submitted Buchecha. That's in of itself is mind blowing. Then the rest of his accolades are insane. Truly the GOAT.
Not only that it was their 2nd match. In the first match Buchecha performed well and "almost" got an arm-bar and ultimately the match was a draw.
I want a Roger DVD that is just general concepts of basic jiu-jitsu
I feel like he's probably going to pack some of that in every individual instructional, though I'm sure they'll all be quality!
2 legends. Roger is the GOAT. I always find every Roger Gracie video is brimming with useful info more than anyone else. Its basic jiu jitsu but mastered
Roger Gracie tying Bernardo's belt.............love it. LOL
This has probably been said before but Roger's voice is so legit haha, he's like the BJJ terminator.

This guy is just gold everytime
Roger is a genius, a magician. Thank you so much for the great details.

‘Huge honour for me’ has become a classic line!
Roger just showed him the most efficient way to tie his belt
I get caught up in all the new flashy moves but I'm going to try and stick to the basic and improve them to black belt level
Same, I became obsessed with rolling back takes, kiss of the dragon, 200% and other random things. But the basics are what will always work
very amusing the face Roger passes to Bernardo palm when touching Roger's knee :) Also i was amused by the fact that Roger tied up Bernardo's belt. good job legends!
Such fine details, thank you!
❤ fundamental understanding the position.
@0:52
In Christianity, this is the equivalent of having holy water sprinkled by the Pope. 🤣
So valuable, thank you for sharing all this knowledge with us!
I got to be the uke at a Roger seminar. I totally understand those gasps of air you were taking periodically👍
Fantastic detail!
Roger is the greatest!!
Woohoooo! More Roger 🥳👏
Roger Gracie is amazing!
In the beginning when bernardo taps Rogers hand the look he gave him 🤣🤣🤣
Que aula 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Absolutely amazing.
Roger is the GOAT.
Thank you.
The GOAT
thank you for this !
Huge honor for me
Love your vids and deep thought into details. Wish I could come visit but I stay in Ca. OSS!!
Can you show any good simple mount escapes and guard submissions?
Danaher has a great video on elbow escapes
The beginning is so funny...never touch my hand, the face of the GOAT lol
2 legends for sure! Great content! Wonder if there was a re-match after the cameras shut off? 😁
Hahahaha 😄😄
Yes there was. And Bernardo got Ezekiel choked again
Like Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed in Rocky 3 😄
Between this and the kesa gatame instructional by Henry Atkins, I don't know in which one Bernardo suffers the most.
Having experienced Henry first hand and hearing stories from a number of people who have trained with Roger, it’s about the same from what I can estimate.
Inspirational.
the grappler goat, never submited SINCE HIS BUE BLET, multiple times world champion and GI AND NO GI. simple the best, even Gordon Ryan said that.
Roger the greatest sport for gi and no gi jiujitsu guy ever and Gordon's rite there for no gi
GOAT
Genius
Nice guy: tying his belt for Bernardo
👏🏾🔥🔥🔥⚡️🥋🏆 Incredible technique and instruction woww
0:02 "I might have to murder him for that after this video"
10:45 isn’t the back more dominant than the mount?
Roger Gracie vs Gordon Ryan (in GI) would be a good match!
In the Gi, Roger would destroy Gordon.
in the GI wouldnt even a chance for Ryan, Roger at 41 YO submits him inside 5
Roger gi / gordon no gi wins
Muito…Muito….Bein. 💯🙏🏾🙌🏾
Nobody: .....
Bernardo: "That's incredible"
Rogers face as Bernardo touches his hand 😂😂😂
How would Roger fare against Gordon Ryan in no gi?

"Them, i m right over you"
Bernardo: "yeah"
I love to watch RG but he’s so tall and strong I feel like some of the things he does is difficult
The devil is truly in the details. Thanks Professor Roger!
in his equation there is no escape, he is in the mount or the back position, nothing else
There is no right or wrong. It is wrong if you're loosing...
Gracie, Roger.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
ROGER is a mount junkie, that vídeo was supposed tô be about side control attacks, but in a nutshell was how to get mount from side control kkkkkk
Thought same. Oh well, still good nuggets in there
Yep, Bernardo tried a new and novel way to keep him from mounting ("let's talk about side control"), STILL didn't work! Think of other places Roger can probably find mount from:
Doctor: O.k. lets take a look at your back to check that cut...Roger turns in and faces him, and passes straight to mount!

Yh but equally it was how to maintain side control. Sometimes the only way to maintain pressure without losing position is to advance to mount.
Tried and failed but will keep watching this for more details!
I have finished more people with Roger Gracie’s ezekiel than you could ever believe.
...and that is when he game me the back....
Its a huge honor for Bernardo to have Arnold Schwarzenegger in the gym.
😂
mix this with Gordan Ryans arm pin!!
I just wanna jump through the windows
HYOOGE HONOUR FOUR ME
I like Hydro Gracie.
