  • Simple Trick To NEVER Lose Side Control //
    Passing the guard and stabilizing side control is far from a simple task. The last thing you want to do is work really hard to get to side control only to end up losing it and having to work hard to pass the guard all over again. Use this simple trick to never lose the side control again. Use leverage and angle to isolate your training partner's arm and immobilize them on bottom. //

    Man, that’s really helpful, I’ve been having a ton of problems trying to control that arm and they keep pulling it back in but this makes a lot of sense, I can’t wait to try it out. Thanks, professor!

    The way you teach technique is very helpful!. It's interesting to hear the slight differences in your explanation in this video vs the old one (+mount) with Donovan. I do, however, miss how you finished the old video with a demonstration of the technique from the 0, 90, and 180 degree angles. It reminds me of the way Cary Kolat demonstrates wrestling technique. Thanks man!

    Hey Giancarlo great video I have had this problem alot as my partners are bigger, this will help alot. One person I spar with alot doesnt frame on the hip and keeps his hands near his face and it gives me North South everytime. Any options my NS choke is poor even though ive worked on it and i know most will definitly find the hip frame as i would, but i need an option for this guy :)

    • @giancarlobodonibjj
      @giancarlobodonibjj  4 роки тому +2

      Jano Iriarte Personally I like to progress position so I like transitioning from the mount from here which I’ll make a video about as well. You can attack near side armbar, far side armbar.. I actually like to go to the mounted triangle once you isolate the near arm and pin the far arm you can swing the leg closest to their hips over the head. I actually have a video on that I will need to release.

    Would the position your in after you isolated there arm close to you be a modified scarf? ( white belt reporting in!)

    • @giancarlobodonibjj
      @giancarlobodonibjj  4 роки тому

      Dennis Hayden Jr. In this case I’m using this move to isolate the near arm in order to more effectively pin my opponents head and shoulders to the ground, the way I’m positioned it gives me more mobility to advance position. With a traditional kesa gatame (scarf)or even a modified one, anytime that I need to move to a better position for attack it takes a lot of movement. Here I use body position and angle to isolate the arm and pin my opponent in a position where I have stability and ability to transition safely when done properly. Thanks for the question. 👊🏼
