Some things never change. Roger is still just as fundamental and dominant as ever. It’s inspiring.
And Mauricio cracking jokes… Good vibes
When Roger Gracie gets top mount, it’s too late. 😂
It’s always too late with Roger
when you fist bump Roger it is too late
That S mount entry from mounted double underhook pressure looks really nasty
Silky smooth transition. A saw him do a brief instructional on it here in YT
Theres levels to this and Roger always displays how far ahead he is from everyone else.
Still amazes me he's keeping that blackbelt from employing his game at all, nullifies everything, complete control.
There's black belts, then there's BLACK Belts
I totally agree.
There’s black belts then there’s BLACK belts, then there’s Roger
He's twice his size lol
@@chidosibanda1477
I say there are black belts and Gracie black belt levels
Im small 5'6 tall and i weight about 180lbs, I've been copying Rogers top game for about 7-8 years of my total 12 years of bjj training, and I get alot of compliments about how good my top pressure is and how bad it feels to be under me. I can only imagine what being under Roger feels like when he puts all his pressure and techinque on you, must be a soul and ego crushing experience.
that pressure looks intense. I love the control Roger has at all times. He's a great example of a master that we would all do well to replicate.
Do you have any footage of your game I'd like to see what a smaller frame pressure game looks like.
@@UA-camWatts watch marcelo garcia and jt torres, they are both around 173cm tall, or 5'7-5'8, heavy sprawling on top of butterflyguard to get chest to chest half guard with cross face, where they use their free leg to release the half guard leg to pass streight to mount usually.
they also have very good stance when they are standing in headquarters where they can hit knee cuts and side smashes depending on the reactions of the bottom player.
also the use tripod kind of position to pass, head down and ass up, where they pressure hard with their head and keeping the hips light so they can move fast and easy with the legs, against the bottom players hooks etc
One of my good friends and training partners had an opportunity to attend one of Roger's seminars. He is 6'2", around 230-240, blackbelt in bjj/judo, d1 wrestling background, and also had a few pro mma fights. I asked him what Roger's pressure is like and all he could tell me was, "bro, the only thing I could move were my eyes." 😂😂
I was imagining the pressure under his twister side control
Oscar that looks like a long day for you. Nice work surviving that long. Tell everyone how heavy Professor Roger feels lol
To add to this again. Robert Drysdale said that when Roger gets mount "it feels like a volkswagon is parked on your chest. The pressure is unbelievable."
as a famous competitor once said, "When I competed with Roger, the pressure was so tight, the only thing I could move were my eyeballs."
@@Cormac1232 Terere, I believe.
Such a joy to see him roll. I recall the late, great Nick Brooks mentioning in a seminar, that Roger would use him as a warm up round in sparring. That blew my mind as to how phenomenal Roger is, Nick was an absolute beast himself.
I could hardly breathe watching that pressure! Holy cow!
Roger is the best of the best in the mounted of all times. A living legend!!
The best! Happy to see the channel is back
Always gonna watch a new Roger video🤙
That is just amazing!! My favorite
If you train, you know how hard it is to open someone's elbows and separate them from the ribs. He did this so easily to a competitor black belt and make the dude looked like a white belt all the way through. Beast.
It's so simple yet so effective 😮mind blowing
The great and also sad part is this guy is probably a beast normally. Rickson's students were the same way. Never were able to beat him but just destroyed everyone else.
As a Rickson team purple belt at 39, i feel this when i go other gyms and train with upper belts. I typically plow through them and im only 157lbs and dont even compete🤷🏽♂️
Yes this is Oscar, well accomplished competitor and instructor besides a cool guy. So you are right 😅
Look him up: Oscar Gugula
You will see that he is a fierce competitor.
@@brandonpemberton5707Vem para o Brasil que será diferente! 😂
He’s a Roger Gracie black belt so I’m sure he is a beast
Not for nothing, but I'm always curious when somebody as good as Roger was tapped out last, and by whom? His official record doesn't show any submission losses going back to 2002. That is absolutely amazing
Poucos viram lendas, Roger é a maior do jiu-jitsu 👏🇧🇷👏🇧🇷👏
I couldn’t breathe just watching this video, insane pressure
Que saída de guarda linda! obg pelo vídeo, mestre!
I like how easy he makes that pressure pass in closed guard look. I've been practicing that a lot, using lots of videos, and people still take my back or sweep me a lot.
Is that the sao Paulo pass?
@@nic2787it is. With a low underhook. I typically take a deeper underhook higher up to prevent op issues. But I think he's going lower for some reason that I can't understand lol
@@nickkim41 🙏 thanks
A lot of the things he does are much more effective when you're 6'4 and heavy.
Hard for smaller people to do a lot of what he does.
@@electricjoshaloo I'm 6 3 240lbs and this pass is effective for me as well. I just dont know why he takes the hip underhook. I like the deep underhook. And I use it more to stack them he kinda flattens them and pops the hook off
Crazy work from both guys
Closed guard escape/pass l haven't seen before
Sau Paulo! Works great. Be careful tho can get you in trouble
Incredible to watch
Roger faz o básico bem feito! Um Jiu jitsu muito eficiente para competição! Incrível!
Meu Deus, mano... Altíssimo nivel ossss
I’ve never seen that loop choke escape or counter before
I was about to comment about this. That detail was so simple yet so effective and completely shut the loop choke down. He knew the guy needed to be able to lift that elbow to feed his hand through and one tiny move completely killed it
Danaher harps on "Why passing while sitting is impossible" and here we see Roger hit the Sao Paulo pass repeatedly with ease, something I thought would never work on good guys.
There's truly levels to this stuff.
Roger says the same thing, actually. I cannot think of a single match from his competition days where he tries to pass closed guard without standing up.
Chris love. Men.
The way he moves from closed guard to half guard seems unstoppable. I've never seen that move before! What's it called?
Muita técnica e pressão grande Roger!
impressionante a calma e técnica
Thank u roger for making jiujits look easy. Makes me hopeful
Can you imagine how good you would get having to train with Roger regularly?
Tudo parece ser tão simples 😂😂 um gênio do jiu-jitsu
Amazing grappler and a great guy
Amazing 🤩
Dude, incredible
That student is a total badass! Great job against probably the best to ever put on a gi
Would love to get some tips on his side control, it’s amazing how good he is at it…
Obrigado.
Sao Paulo Pass, pesquisa ai, Ossss
@@akylaxavier obrigado. Oss
@@akylaxavierthanks! I was wondering the same, seems that I could use that, as I’m tall as well.
@@Telescope1994 yes, its a pretty good passing style, works 100%
Com esse vídeo aprendi a defender a gola rodada! Absurdo o nível do Roger!
Makes it look easy
Essa montada dá sufoco até em quem está assistindo 😂😂😂
I try and mirror my mount game from Rodger! He’s such a beast, I bet that felt like the longest round in existence.
WELCOME BACK
Legend
Great tempo. Oss!
Still the greatest of all time
30 seconds in and I already see the GOAT kept his outside elbow close to the hip of the guard puller so he couldn’t climb up to his shoulder region while passing guard.
Love to see nothing but controlled. Pressure rolls. Nothing fancy just good fundamentals. Love watching this
That pressure wow
Incrível como ele faz parecer fácil, mas apenas parece, não eh fácil.
Wow. Gracie is an absolute beast.
Sometimes I want to feel the pain
Roger toying with a black belt like hes with some beginner man, the levels are staggering.
He is really is sticking to judo here, no x guards and fancy leg techniques etc love it
It’s like being attacked by a sloth in a gi. It’s crazy how slow and smooth EVERYTHING he does is.
He does the same sequence of moves over and over but no one can stop it
Oscar! ❤
My old work buddy went to Roger Gracie academy once
He never left 😂😂
Paxton you know addicted to the roll 😂
Yep happened to me as well :P
É prazeroso assistir o róla do roger
The size make a huge difference as well
Is there a instruction to the closed guard break?
Look up the Sao Paulo pass
Dominant si a basics Jiujitsu. Top 🔝 and Oss. Taac. 🎉🎉🎉
That loop choke defense à 4:21 !
Does anyone know how he is passing the guard at 0:24 ?
That loop choke defence
Just seen that 😮
My daughter looks up to Roger:)
That Sao Paulo Pass
Master
That subtle “shit” after 4:29 …. Oh yea 😂💀 we know.
Interesting guard pass, he kind of starts to expose his back a bit without getting danger, uses the opposite arm to block the back take
That looked like it felt terrible…
The closed guard pass was interesting. What was that?
@3:18 If that was a white belt he'd be booted from the mats, but *that* was a legendary blow. Roger was merely being efficient with his time 😂
The dude getting crushed is just my experience of jujitsu against anyone who has been going a day longer than me.
Que amasso
0:50 . is that Renzo in the back? Sounds like him.
Meus Deus...bati umas três vezes só assistindo o cem kilo. Imagina ter a oportunidade de rolar com essa lenda.
São Paulo pass em dia!
I'm in my first week and obviously the main thing i notice is how "slow" they're moving opposed to me getting winded in 2 minutes from aimless "wrestling"
All those frosted candy pretzels you ate as a kid.... Now you know how they felt
PLEASE, I practice BJJ, I'm blue belt, someone tell me the name of the full guard break Roger uses to break and pass the full guard
Its funny to watch Roger dominate a guy that would 100% mop me up! HAHA
4:32 "shit!" Lol
Sai daê, meu irmão! 😂
Pressure..
Jesus christ. The way he just marches to mount.
whose the red/coral belt behind them ?
Roger’s father and our coach, Mauricio Gomes
I’m my email I can see that you asked a question but it’s not here for some reason. Yes, Roger’s mother is a Gracie.
roger is in a totally different weight division to this guy to be fair would be interesting to see this kind of game with one of his heavyweight students
It's the same anytime I've seen him with any size of partner, any belt
Too bad you don't get to pick upur attacker on the street.
I went to grapplers retreat with Roger. He did this to everyone. Every size. He would tap every person there with the move of the day. He’s slow as a constrictor until he wants his legs in a different spot. The whole room shook (spring floor) once he threw a leg some where. Great experience and Roger is a great hang as well.
2:46 looks like a fun place to be 😂
wow. there's a lot of black belts in that room.
There is Roger and then there is food. Everyone else is the latter.
What closed guard pass is he using?
Variation of the Sau Paulo, I asked the same question
🔥
Roger makes a black belt look like a white belt.
There is a black belt and a Gracie black belt.
Some ppl make it black belt level in BJJ
But,only a few make it to Gracie black belt levels.
It's the reality, DNA has something to do with it.
Look at Rogers here, big guy rolling as if he was 100 lbs.
He is so big
Meregali did this position last fight
I’m a white belt. Watching him do that to another black belt is SCARY
