Great to see a farmer with an understanding of work life balance trying to improve efficiency not only for profitability but also, not all is worth doing (ie housing of cattle all year round) just because it’s finically beneficial. With the younger generation coming through and a less work ethic, if they don’t grasp this mentality of doing what works for them instead of doing for the sake of, because their neighbour is doing so, the farming industry will regress even more!

When shorting that starter you need to short the top big post to the small spade connector... That will pull the solenoid in (pulls the gear across) and energise the motor.. if you just short the two big posts you will just make the motor spin and nothing will engage.. I think just by luck a couple times you caught the spade connector also.... :)
