Love to see you bring this old girl back to life. I had an old digger, before selling it, I did all kinds of improvements, deeply appreciated your efforts, must be a full time job for you, haha....
I think my favorite videos are where you are fixing things. It amazes me how you just grab a piece of steel and fabricate what you need. Looking forward to the next installment!
I love to watch your problem solving and pride in your work. If you were not a farmer which is the best job in the world I think you would be a teacher of fabrication.
Just an idea, but the pin you removed to take off the rams. Get a 1 or 2mm hole drilled down the centre of them and a little hole in the centre hinge point. And a bigger hole on the outside to take a grease nipple and you can get grease in to exactly where it's needed.
Really enjoy you working on these projects and your content in general, it’s a hard life at times , trust me I’ve been there but when you get the breaks and a fair wind it’s hard to beat and your skill sets bring so much independence and monetary savings especially on the older gear.
Adrian, your ancestors of four and a half thousand years ago, at the beginning of the Bronze Age on your island, would comprehend your methods and skills very well. Even without speaking the same language, they would understand and admire you! Thanks for all your effort spent, making these superb videos! Your fan in Minnesota
Those battery packs are a great handy job, I bought one for my car and one for my wife's car, they both have the engine stop/start and those type of batteries have a nasty habit of suddenly going flat, wife has had to use hers once which saved me having to go out to rescue her, real handy and take up no space in the car boot.
It’s nice to see old equipment given a new lease of life, I cant image someone doing this in 40 to 50 years time with a new machine with all the electronics and ADBlue junk.
The thermal imaging camera are great. Just a small thing to note is that if you try to measure something very shiny, like clean metal shiny metal, it’s not an accurate number. If you put some or something on the surface and let it heat up, you can get an accurate measurement. But of course works if you don’t need an accurate measurement it’s fine without the tape.
Great video adrian, Its a pleasure to watch them little fabrication jobs. On your welder trouble its probably the odd stray gust of wind blowing the shielding gas away thats making it suptter, its never an issue with stick but mig can be a bit more picky
The battery pack is a serious bit of kit. Bought one last year and it's saved me a lot of time and hardship. Wouldn't be without one. Well worth every penny
The idea of that hinge is if you have a matching other half, the door will close itself. It’ll lift the door as you said a small bit, but gravity will pull the door down, and will turn the door closed due to the cut.
21:44 Hi Adrian, its polycarbonate (tradename Lexan) as opposed to Perspex whick is Acrylic. I used it on a Massey 860 digger door as a slight bend in the frame kept breaking the glass. It was about €110 vs the glass at €150. It doesn't break or yellow but it has gone a bit cloudy. I'd use glass if you can get it and can be sure it wont break.
Hi Adrian. Might be worth your while trying gasless wire/flux cored wire for the mig welder when welding outside. The slighest bit of a breeze can make impossible to weld outside with any mig welder.
Wish I was a accomplished at odd jobs as you are I've been electrician for over 30 years now I'm a maintenance technician where I work repairing machines for tire recapping production for mostly tractor trailer truck tires and trailer tires. So lots of air and electrical. I'm now just figuring out how to weld never been taught so I'm learning quick by messing up and then redoing the job until I get good welds. Thank you for your videos you teach very well and have good knowledge of what your working on. God Bless
Hy there I think these hinges are made for gates to close them selves every time ! Like you would do with a spring! For auto close gates! Greetings from France👍
Adrian I have an idea for you. Might not make it happen before Christmas but some I farm we farm merch with the 50b on it would be unreal! Kinda like what Cleetus McFarland does over in Florida with merch with his cars on it? Impeccable work as ever
Mr. Morris, Sir, great brain and a great pair of hands. Well done. I enjoy that you are solution minded, no problems just solutions, lets get on with it. Cold ears . . . add wool hats to your merch and when you are at it, why don't you source a hard hat with a washable fleece in-lay with a head-lamp and a built in FM radio . . . you get the idea or source something you would use, find useful, brand it ifarm wefarm and add to your merch. The power unit seems ideal and if I needed one I'd get that brand on your recommendation, no second thought. Your standards are such a great bench-mark for other farmers. Your attention to detail and safety awareness are superb. P.S. In the computer game, there is a saying; "RTFM", Read the feckin' Manual. Are there manuals available on-line from manufacturers for all the models they release. Continued success.
I hope that the non-farmers can appreciate the great number of different maintenance skills needed to run a successful farm. And of course the work ethic that goes along with it! Cheers from Buffalo, and Merry Christmas from across the pond!
Great, thorough and creative work Adrian. Really appreciate the steady and phased improvements on the back hoe as you have time in your busy days. Many thanks.
Excellent video Adrian and great to see you making more progress on the Massey digger. Love the fabrication and fixing, great skills and nice workmanship there. 😊
Great bit of fabrication, looking forward to the wiring as it's so painful to do getting into all the nooks and crannies and then the mysterious non operating items when it should work 😮
You can hear the wind on the camera when you were welding outside, thats why your mig is temperamental when outside. Try and block the wind and you will notice a massive difference.
Another good one Adrian, the small jobs are often most finiky ,nice bit of repairing and fabricating on the door and the lights looking forward to the updates 👍
Glad to see you scrapped those fender mounted indicators Adrian. I know it's good to keep a machine original in some cases but for pure practicality and for the sake of a proper job that led upgrade is well worth it
I see that the previous owner had pinned both of your curl cylinders in different holes on the upper end. Probably had to to that because of thhe different length rams. Make sure to pin them in the same holes.
I notice that there looks to be two mounting points for the tilt rams. I've often seen that on lift rams so that you can get different height or breakout force but I don't really see what the purpose of these might be. Those front light/indicator units were original on some Masseys during the 70's , I bet there are lads would be interested in those as they look in ok condition if given a quick scrub.
Reallly enjoyable video Adrian.... good too see your digger coming on... only thing id have said in my experience when i weld near Windows i tend too cover the windows with a bit of wood or metal sheet as 1 day a wndow shatterd on 1 of our tractors when a weld bobble hit the glass n it shattered....anyway looking forward too the next episodes...👍
That's a good job. You will have to either match a flasher unit to the L.E.D. lights or do what I did and fit a resistor. in the system otherwise it flashes too fast. Cheers Jim in N Z.
Good job 👍 the welder problem will be a breeze blowing the shielding gas away most likely, like you I have to do a fair bit of welding outside the workshop, get a welding screen and give that a try.
Try flux cored wire in your mig. No need for shield gas when working outside in the wind. I think you have to reverse the polarity to use it correctly.
Great stuff Adrian, really looking forward to seeing how this project comes along!! I know you said you probably won’t film it, but would you be open to the idea of a ‘summary’ type film on how you wire her up to the dash?? It would be so helpful to those of us mortals that aren’t quite as strong on the electrical side! All the best, keep up the great content!! 👌🏻👍🏻
One reason the welder would be doing that is the gas is easily blown away by wind,if you have to do it outside try putting up some plywood or something to block wind
Great to see you working on the MF 50B The farmer I worked for back in the day purchased one brand new, I was a lucky Guy, and spoilt, the cab was quiet, and warm. Do you still have a working heater under the seat.? We fitted an additional spool to the loader control to facilitate using a Flat 8 Bale lifter. Than you for posting
Good job sir, nice to see the 50b getting fixed.why not remove the front loader completely and repaint the loader and the front of the digger.my father had 5 of these in their day as he was a builder, and i served my time in a Massey dealership in the early 80s outside derry northern Ireland and worked on them .
As always another great video a we tip make sure all the water hoses are in good condition before you put in fresh antifreeze because if there is a slightly week one the fresh antifreeze will make short work of it keep up the good work and happy Christmas
I'm busy renovating a 50B myself and would like to know where you got your lights and indicators from as they look great. Keep the vids coming, Adrian.
Great video, enjoying watching the progress, something I do when filling in drill hole with the welder put a brass hammer head behind the hole it makes it so easy to fill in, I liked the light mounts very clean and tidy, great hobby for you Adrian, my welder had that stutter problem fitted a new liner that sorted it but they can stutter a little when outside the wind blows the gas away, another fault can be the wire being dirty you can get a small cleaner that fits over your wire inside the machine just before the drive motor, you might already have thought of those things, any way very enjoyable video, good luck to you and the family
As always, work done professionally and properly. I salute Adrian for taking the time to ensure that the lights are not only legal, but in good working order also. I can't speak for all regions and countries, but I grew up in an area where if lights on agricultural equipment broke, they very rarely ever got fixed. My own family farm being no exception. I never understood it then and don't understand it now. True enough, in those days, the police would look the other way on the back roads and nothing was ever said. These days, you are asking for legal trouble (traffic offenses), but more than that, having working lights just makes things all the more easier and that is the part or self-induced trouble that I never could understand. The amount of times that I heard 'the tractor doesn't have lights so we have to wait until tomorrow' is ridiculous and that had nothing to do with travelling on the public roads.
Hello sir or madam, I am a 25 year old man. I love agricultural work in general, and I have 4 years of experience in the field of lemon production, assembly and packaging, and assistance in sheep and cow farms, as well as in the production of pure milk, and I am ready at any time to start working with you and assist in your agricultural work.
Great video, really cool to be able to see the whole process of getting it to working order. I'd persoanlly love to see the dash being pput right, hoping to do a project on an old tractor we have and curius to see how much work there is in the dash.
Cracking work sir.... can I mention what happened to that door/cab? 🤔 get a check strap on that door quickly as when the blow open or just fully open the handle catches on the loader frame when its moved and hay presto one bend door or cab 😮😊.. .. on a fun note... are you going to be able to take both hand off the wheel when driving down the lanes to operate the indicators 😜😇.. fun..... 😊.. stay safe 🏴
Love to see you bring this old girl back to life. I had an old digger, before selling it, I did all kinds of improvements, deeply appreciated your efforts, must be a full time job for you, haha....

I love to watch your problem solving and pride in your work. If you were not a farmer which is the best job in the world I think you would be a teacher of fabrication.
That Power Ranger welding helmet is putting a big smile on my face! You're the hero we need, Adrian!
It’s called a rising butt hinge , used to be at family home to clear carpet under the door.
Just an idea, but the pin you removed to take off the rams. Get a 1 or 2mm hole drilled down the centre of them and a little hole in the centre hinge point. And a bigger hole on the outside to take a grease nipple and you can get grease in to exactly where it's needed.

Farmers are some of the best at using what they have on hand but you, sir, are better than most. 👏👏👏
Adrian, your ancestors of four and a half thousand years ago, at the beginning of the Bronze Age on your island, would comprehend your methods and skills very well. What those hinges are for is to make a self~closing door. The weight of the door causes it to slide down thw hinge and close because of the slant.
My dad loves watching your videos. He is always watching the newest one 😊😊😊😊
It’s nice to see old equipment given a new lease of life, I cant image someone doing this in 40 to 50 years time with a new machine with all the electronics and ADBlue junk.
That hinge is called a rising butt. Very useful. Tractor looking good 🤗
You can use the thermal imaging camera on cows feet, real handy to pin point foul and reduces a lot of time the animal is restrained
Always amazed at the skills you have and the amount of work you do Adrian.
They were the hinges I suggested to you for your workshop door
That thermal imager looks a great job . Handy if a leak ever springs under slab in house too.
The back of those LED lights is a heat sink to keep them cool,Adrian
Great video adrian, Its a pleasure to watch them little fabrication jobs. On your welder trouble its probably the odd stray gust of wind blowing the shielding gas away thats making it suptter, its never an issue with stick but mig can be a bit more picky
That hinge is called a Rising Butt Hinge. Very common in UK. Lifts the door off the carpet as it opens and uses gravity to close the door.
The battery pack is a serious bit of kit. Bought one last year and it's saved me a lot of time and hardship. Wouldn't be without one. Well worth every penny

Perfect Sunday watching with the 50B 👏🏼
Great video. The hinge you used is for self closing doors.
Adrian I have an idea for you. Might not make it happen before Christmas but some I farm we farm merch with the 50b on it would be unreal! Kinda like what Cleetus McFarland does over in Florida with merch with his cars on it? Impeccable work as ever
That was wonderful Adrian 👍🏆♥️ Your Massey is coming along nicely 👍🥰 I hope by now you've warmed up and sitting by a roaring 🔥 with your feet up ☕👍❤
Great video as usual Adrian , you keep proving there are no problems, only solutions , cheers .
Mr. Morris, Sir, great brain and a great pair of hands. Well done. I enjoy that you are solution minded, no problems just solutions, lets get on with it.

Class modifications on your rubber duck 10-4 keeper suckin diesel Adrian great to see the Rubber duck getting some much needed tlc
crackin job your doing very clever and practical and interesting to watch
Great video Adrian as always 👌
It’s an rise and fall hinge can be used in domestic situations to lift doors over carpets.
Mig welder are only for inside only unless you are using flux core as the shield gas blows away
I've never seen anyone fix a twisted cab. This was good stuff!
Nice job Adrian very tasty job on the light brackets and filling in the mudguards
Excellent video Adrian and great to see you making more progress on the Massey digger. Love the fabrication and fixing, great skills and nice workmanship there. 😊
Tidy job Adrian well done, you're doing a relay decent job there, impressive.👍
Great work 👏 that hinge is designed to want to swing closed as gravity eg weight of door will twist it round
Will be better that the day it left the factory great job
Another great video Adrian keep up with the good video 👍👍👍
Great bit of fabrication, looking forward to the wiring as it's so painful to do getting into all the nooks and crannies and then the mysterious non operating items when it should work 😮
Its a rising butt hinge. They are on all my doors in my Victorian house. Great hinge.
Glad to see another update on the rusty banana
Very educational and entertaining lad. Well done. You have great patience
Great video Adrian, great job! Enjoyed watching as always. 👍🏼👍🏼

Doing a great job. I'm enjoying watching your 50B project. Good Sunday viewing.
Glad to see you scrapped those fender mounted indicators Adrian. I know it's good to keep a machine original in some cases but for pure practicality and for the sake of a proper job that led upgrade is well worth it
Your fabrication is so good! I wish I could do this kind of thing.
Another excellent video Adrian. I love to see things being restored. You have fantastic metal fabrication skills.
Really enjoying watching this current project 😊
I see that the previous owner had pinned both of your curl cylinders in different holes on the upper end. Probably had to to that because of thhe different length rams. Make sure to pin them in the same holes.
haha at the gerry 6420 remark about needing the jump pack
Those new lights make some difference, far nicer, she'll be some massey 50b when you've done all the little job
Great video as always, love the Massey easy start comment 🙂🙂
The wind is blowing the gas away when welding outside 👍

Are you using an extension lead with the welder? If you are, that's the problem when you go outside.
That's a good job. You will have to either match a flasher unit to the L.E.D. lights or do what I did and fit a resistor. in the system otherwise it flashes too fast. Cheers Jim in N Z.
Great job on the welding Adrian, its coming along nicely 👍👍
Comment for the algorithm to help the channel 👍.

Once again great fabrication work always learning something here.

That's becoming a great addition to the fleet!! Well done Ade.
Adrian the jack of all trades pure dead brilliant😂😂😂

Enjoyed that very much indeed thanks top man 🚜🏴👍
The 50B is coming along nice. It would look lovely all painted up. Might be a good time to buy a spray gun. It's doesn't take long to master.😊
That digger will be better than new when your finished if i remember my uncles one had a rubber round the edge of the door frame on the cab.
Great job on another great video adrain can't wait to see the finished job
Good job sir, nice to see the 50b getting fixed.why not remove the front loader completely and repaint the loader and the front of the digger.my father had 5 of these in their day as he was a builder, and i served my time in a Massey dealership in the early 80s outside derry northern Ireland and worked on them .

Great video Adrian 50b looks great 👍 👌
Look at fluxed wire for your MIG for outside work, Shielding gas gets blown away by wind and this could be some of your problem. HTH 👍
Great video well explained, nice clean work👍
I'm busy renovating a 50B myself and would like to know where you got your lights and indicators from as they look great. Keep the vids coming, Adrian.

@@jamesmccabe1702 What’s the point of your question?
Nice work lad 👍👍

I taught you were using fluxed wire in the welder when your out side the gas doesn’t work out side with the mig unless you have a windshield or canopy
That's great work you are good at it you would do Again
