The reason I mention them is that there local to me and they’ve treated us very well for over 20 years now, so they deserve any business we can send them for that.
Part of the reason Ivy is so invasive now is due to electric fences. One time farmers only put a strand or two of barbed wire around the boundary of a field, therefore cattle could access the ivy and keep it under control. Great Video Adrian. Mighty little Stihl.
your farm always looks so tidy. you put a lot of work into making things run smoothly. A true farmer!!!
Hard to beat getting these Jobs tidied up. Impressed with that small chain saw. 👍😁
That’s the way to cut up a tree fin the outside in.Your a credit to the farming community.well done on TB results and congratulations on the baby news.
Best of luck with the new baby Adrian and great results on the tb test
Great video
Congratulations on baby be busy Christmas .Clear tb test is great relief that sthil is good saw
Great video sir👍 nice logs for the fire to replace the ones you use when everyone turns up for a hold of the baby 🙄😉😁. On the logs thing IBC cages are great for storing drying wood in easy to shift to. Stay safe 🏴 👍 👌
Would you get a zero grazing contractor to zero graze the hill? Be a handy way to get the grass off before winter.
I have to admire your work ethic Adrian. You put me and my desk-bound job to shame. It must be wonderful working outdoors on those sunny October days.
There’s days when it pouring down and i’d swap for a desk job 😜🤣
@@IFarmWeFarm 🤣 True enough! Coming from West Donegal, I remember days like that myself.
Great content great job
You could do with chainsaw wellies... well worth the investment
should get yourself a remet 100 for chopping the small stuff for kindling. its a great job
Just googled that yoke, jes its some machine.
@@roadwarrior8560 have one for the last 5 years hve the 150, chopes up all the rubbish into wan tonne bags ,great for the fire
What happened to the straight pipe
Would you think of zero grazing some of the out block for the milking cows Adrian?
Yes we may buy a used zero grazer one day. It would work well in this situation for sure
@@IFarmWeFarm anyone around locally that does it for hire atm?
Well done on passing your test, how about 0 grazing that grass ,will get 100% of the grass off the field bet the cows would love it
Adrian, any chance of a video on how you sharpen the chain on the 170,are the girls getting excited about the new arrival coming soon.
The MS170 is about to be discontinued, all the domestic saws are changing.
What’s replacing it?
@@IFarmWeFarm it'll be a whole new range of domestic saws. The Ms170 will be replaced by a brand new design called the Ms172.
By the way should get the cows eatin the ivy . Its high in iron. You should start by feedin some to that calf thats no thirving. Used to feed it to an animal recovering from red water
Did ye know that the best time to get heat from sticks is when ye splitting them
Have a friend has problems with small Stihl. Nevertheless better than small Husky 135. Has broken my heart whilst bigger Husky a great yoke...
Fantastic news about the herd test Adrian ,great result.
It really did rain plenty last night,I was up in Cavan at a match and it lashed all evening,so it was good timing getting the cows in. 👍
Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thanks for sharing your great video’s please keep them coming.
Really enjoy catching up on your videos on a Sunday morning Adrian, only thing I would say is get a good quality forestry boot and a chain saw helmet as opposed to visor and ear muffs only as cutting close to the ground will increase kickback on the saw and better to damage the helmet than cause injuries to your head , also noticed you didn’t have your ear muffs down , but great videos as always stay safe and congratulations on the new baby. Simon
You’re a busy man Adrian. You get through a power of work as a one man band has to. Like your work ethic regarding finishing a job and not leaving it until “another time”, we all know how that ends up 😉. Glad you’re looking and feeling better as are your cattle after the TB test. 👍
Cheers lad, feeling much better now fir sure 👍
It's up to you but I think it would be seriously worth considering using the ear protection that you have there on that face shield when using the chainsaw. My father was always a man that would laugh about ear protection and the old classic "sure I don't need that". Now the man's hearing is not worth a shite and he is only 60. We only get one chance with our hearing so imo it is worth protecting. Of course it is entirely up to yourself though. Edit: I see you were using them with the bigger saw so that is good. Would still be worth it for both. Them wee saws can still be well over 100 dB.
How do you find wearing the chainsaw trousers Adrian? been looking at buying some trousers and chainsaw boots but they seem so uncomfortable to wear for the odd time I'd be using the saw and if you are not cool and comfortable when you are working it doesn't help with safety either, I see you mentioned the wellingtons were hot to work in, chainsaw boots would be 10 times worse I'd imagine. Also need chainsaw gloves too I suppose.
Hi Adrian, Ivy is very invasive, even the smallest piece landing on soil or tree bark will propagate on it's own. I guess you will be looking to plant some trees and hedges to fill the gaps. November is the month for bare root hedges cheap as chips online. Congrats on the TB test results. Thoughts and prayers with new arrival on the way.
Thanks you
I am 2 minds wrt ivy. I have a lot to clear. Google will tell you it has no adverse affects on the host tree... which I find hard to believe. But bees love it, and it blooms late in the season which is a good reason for keeping it.
@@IFarmWeFarm the EPA won’t like you burning off. I wait until bonfire night or Halloween myself.
@@benwilkins2998 it’s doesn’t matter what they like really, it’s within the law to do so. Burning of Green vegetation, untreated wood and hedge trimmings is legal from September to March under the current legislation. A lot of people get mixed up on that one. Wildlife act 1976.
As for ivy, is doesn’t directly kill trees or hedges but it will over power them by adding extra weight leading them to become top heavy and falling over.
@@IFarmWeFarm thanks, I didn’t know that.
I agree with the ivy. The last thing I want is an old tree destroying my newly installed fencing.
Hello , good day ! Love your vedios . May I ask how many people working with u? Thanks. Have a good day
Do you ever think of getting a 0grazer you have alot of grass on the other land and you wont have to walk the cows over
The oul fella is an arborist and he keeps a 170 at home as the do it aller !! A great yoke, the carb can be bothersome from time to time, but sure the saw is 10 years old now anyways..
I am recently disabled and while away my hours watching Farming videos on UA-cam...I watch them more than I do the normal TV.

The grandfather has a 170 saw good all rounder saw it cuts alot of timber
I have a stihl 170 its a great saw i bought it for fencing its nice and light that hydraulic box would hold as much as a trailer will you plant a couple of trees 👍
Just catching up on un-seen videos. I can see ear protection on top of your head. My friend, you need to put it on your ears. 😆
Congratulations on the baby... Is it a wee boy or a wee girl?
Great video Adrian. Knocked a few trees with my 170 this morning. Some saw for the money.
It’s brilliant 👍
Crawfords farm tractor challenge 👍
Congratulations on the TB test results. I bought a MS 170 a couple years ago, it is a nice saw.
Congratulations on the clear TB test and the coming new addition to your family.
Bar not blade😉
I have a watch just like yours, never lets me down. Great content. Sunny in Fermanagh.
Cheers mate, Fermanagh’s my second home county. Mother’s home ground
Good news on your TB test and the new addition to your family 👪🙏
Good news with the herds testing tidying up them trees excellent work two steps forward just as it should be..
Congrats on the clear TB test, we had the same result this week too, couldn't beat it!!
these two are highly recommended
Out of interest are you controlling the badgers in TB hotspots in Ireland?
We can do nothing as there protected, department of agriculture promised to vaccinate them but that was just a joke. Here where I am there population has boomed in the last few years.
Dose of liquid gold maybe help the heifer
Love the title!
Congratulations with the clear test great vid
you have the best videos ever great job and you have a really grand farm
You're a handy man with the saw👍Plenty firewood for the winter🪵Good to be clear of TB,it's an awful disease to deal with.Hopefully one day we will be rid of it for good.
Did you get your calf checked by vet to see if she has something logged in her stomach we lost a calf because she eat a piece of silage wrap I hope it's not that and she make full recovery .
Here in Ontario, Canada we have problems with wild grape vines killing trees on our property. You can’t keep ahead of them. Very evasive. Only do what you can to get rid of them. Great content. Thanks
Didn't think Ireland had any problems with TB, what wild animals do you have there that can spread it? I think Scotland has been declared tb free since around 2010 and the island I live on only had some from cattle taken up from England back in the 80s
Ireland is walking with TB in places, my local area has been devastated in recent years, large numbers in 80% of farms
Just a thought about the poorly heifer, the way its licking the bottom of the metal trough, could it be short of iron, we had a similar situation with a calf once, it just wasn't doing but it was constantly licking at metal stuff, gave it some vitamin B12 with Iron and it sorted it out.
Ya that’s a very good point, we are feeding a multi vitamin lick bucket all year but that particular calf may not be getting enough.
Great video Adrian,
Nice tidy job with the tree, as always!
I'd recommend Chainsaw boots or wellies aswell.
Great video as usual.
Yes I think I’ll get the boots as the wellies are very heavy. Them trousers are heavy enough 🙈
@@IFarmWeFarm the trousers are indeed very heavy ......have the boots here for a long while ........they are a good job and not that heavy ........
Love bit timber work Adrian
Great weight of your mind to have the TB test back clear. I’m curious, do sharpen your chainsaw chains?
How are you keeping
Adrian great video. What a result on the TB, a great relief for the farm A lot of work to process a tree, been there and done that. Great technic show by you tidy up as you go along, can nae be stumbling about with a chain saw in your hand. BTW great saw you have. Hope to see more of the TE20 shortly.
Great video Adrian, if a relief to be clear test, done n dusted for another year.
The best thing about timber is it warms ya several times, cutting, gathering, splitting n burning. Handy to hav 2 saws, smaller one won't pull the arms off ya.
Best wishes for coming weeks 👶, exciting times ahead, had our first baby 3 weeks ago n it's fun times, busy but good busy.
Enjoy the videos
Another great video Adrian congrats on your new baby what are you hope is for boy or girl great news Adrian 👩🌾🚜🏴🇬🇧👌👍
Nice one Adrian, always enjoyed knocking trees with the old man!
Great energy! The big Case and the little 170 done did good!
Good morning, afternoon or evening to you, Adrian. It's my Sunday morning here in Florida and the sun is shining, the weather is changing and we are going into our dryer season-NOV-APR. It's 24 degrees C and will be 28 C today. I hear the horses splashing water on themselves to keep cool as their "Winter" coats are coming in. You mentioned that you would be or had shaved your cattles' backs. Lawd, Adrian, watching you, you make be feel like a slacker. So glad to see you feeling so good after being under the weather. Did you have a coffee with your breakfast and lunch? How lovely! You all will have some sweet smelling wood for the stoves/fireplace this winter and I do like how the tractor is doing double-duty. Good thinking! That was a gnarly tree! Seeing your bales, how did they fair this year? Did the birds leave them alone?
Great work Adrian.... congratulations on the news of the new arrival. There may be snow on the roof but there's still led in the pencil
Adrian you have a busy time what time do you get away from the farms . How many cows are into milk twice a day 24 7 no weekends to your self, but that is what you do plus all your other jobs . But as you enjoy doing it when do have time to do up the fergie tractor when are going to see what progress you have done. So speak soon.
Hi.Adrain. congratulations to u and ur wife. U will have more help on farm. 👏great video 👍
Hi
Congratulations 👏 Adrian you kept that quite about another baby 👶.. I bet your daughters can't wait. X
Hi Adrian, best advice I ever got about firewood was cut as much on concrete as you can, save a lot of handling if that was in 10 foot lengths. I have a Fiskars XA22, it would save your back on what you do have to lift and move
I have a little 171 bloody great saw great power
Congratulations Adrian and family, take it handy the next few weeks and best of luck with the new arrival
Great work Adrian, must look for one of those small Stihl saws, I think that heifer will come good through time, hopefully.
Would you ever consider a zero grazer for managing grass for you’re millers?
Great news Tb clear good job getting the tree cleaned up
Cheers 👍🐜
I have a stihl 170 its a great saw i bought it for fencing its nice and light that hydraulic box would hold as much as a trailer will you plant a couple of trees 👍
So glad you're tb clear Adrian.
Where did the name IFarm weFarm come from?
what camera are ya using @ 1.57 . its very clear
Lovely bit of timber to keep the homestead warm through the winter. Great that your TB test was clear.
Class video. Super thrilled ye got the all clear.
How many acres/hectares do you farm ?
I love your videos, I’m watching from da Smoke and it’s the only fresh air I get when I’m watching you lol. Your farm safety practices are so important, too many farmers are hurt or killed every year through accidents. 👍☘️☘️🇮🇪☘️☘️
Thanks mate
What happened to the beacon and the pipe
Great video well done and thanks
Hi Adrian As it's coming up for Halloween shops will be selling big bags of nuts with shells on. A great project for the girls would be to plant some of these nuts along the edges of the fields and record the annual growth as the girls grow older. A kind of Family Heritage Woodland.
Another fun project would be to have the girls make some lighted pumpkin heads and place them up on the hill near the new shed. I think this would make a great subject for a drone video especially with creeping ivy on trees with the evening sky shining through the trees, lighting would be just right prior to the sun going down.
Good idea that 👍
Where did u get back box for yur quad
Where's the straight pipe gone of the case?
Good tidy job aiden, congratulations on the clear test
Where did the straight pipe go?
Delighted you got a clear test result.
Where's the streaght pipe for the case
