I don’t understand why auto manufacturers don’t install the same seatbelt pre-tension system like they do for the driver. If Hyundai wants the Santa Fe to be on the top safety list they will have to do it which will cost money which they could have done in the first place. You can’t tell me they didn’t know that would be an issue for the rear passengers. SMH..
Because you get what you pay.
If you watch how well GLE performs in this test (rear seat belt pre-tensioning), that’s why it gets expensive.
Because it lots of car makers only make improvements after they know they're getting tested on it and they're very willing to save $300 a car until they get called out and the couple of dead kids along the way doesn't bother them.
Lol. It's Hyundai/Kia, the same brand that was too cheap to install basic immobilizers in their cars. Shouldn't be surprised one bit they also cheap out on safety.
Probably because things like this might cost auto manufacturers another $20.
@@jrmt6 The problem is solely existed in USA. There are no kia boys in any other countries, not even canada. It's not the cars, it's the people.
IIHS, do you have a database for all your emergency braking (and/or other autonomous driving tech) videos? I.e. the videos of the vehicle performance in pedestrian, vehicle tests inside and outside views.
Did you ever test the 2023 Santa Fe? I can’t find a video from this channel
Good timing. I just signed the papers on a 24 to replace my 17 santa fe
WHY IS TESLA CYBER TRUCK NOT REQUIRED TO DO CRASH TESTING??????????
I hope at some time, the fullsize SUVs can snatch results
I’m sorry it almost looks like the seatbelt on the rear dummy was not properly adjusted on the lap portion. I’d love to see what the Euro NCAP rates this car.
Euroncap ratings are different and not comparable with the IIHS tests at all, euroncap test are more relaxed so the score won't reflect necessary the score of the IIHS almost all cars at European crash test scores 5 stars and only scores 4 stars when doesn't have the active safety equipment like AEB by example
I bought a Santa Fe hybrid this Monday.
Whereabouts are you located and when did you place the order?
my condolences
huffing paint i see
I look delivery on my Hybrid last Saturday. Now I see this...
Did you like it? Hz the drive sofar? I am planning to buy one
❤❤❤❤
where is the cybertruck crash test?
IIHS relies on manufacturers to send them vehicles so Tesla probably just isn’t doing it
They don’t want more bad new for that poor thing
Too heavy for crash testing
Test the vw atlas
Lol, my daily is a 12 year old Volvo. Safest car I will ever own 👍🏼
👀👂
They need to better with they cars
Ah yes, another car tested by the IIHS that one or two-person households are going to skip because of its misleading overall rating.
How is it misleading? "one or two-person households" can still have people in the backseat. It's not like pretensioners are that expensive...
@@1997nickI have multiple issues with any safety outlet giving an "overall" rating because it oversimplifies the nuances in the car's design that are OK versus not OK. Compounding this, models that did not change between 2023 and 2024 (I am aware this Santa Fe was redesigned for 2024 but I'm just saying) get different Overall scores due to taking into account rear seat data, and by backing the 2023 data as opposed to retroactively changing it, they're inadvertently telling customers to search for 2023 models because the 2024 are not as safe... which is obviously not true; it's only the definition of what makes "Good" that has changed.
This car is not Marginal if you don't use the back seat. It would be Good.
The driver was absolutely crushed into the steering wheel, and it looks like the dummy’s head even looks like it hit the steering wheel through the airbag. I can’t believe yall didn’t comment on that
Hyundai is specialized in only Exam. They do not have any interest in safety.
Very dissapointing
Most seatbelts in every new car lol. I'm sure the Sante Fe is safe.
stay away from those easily stolen unsafe cars
The Hyundais that were easily stolen are older models without smart key access nor any type of engine immobilizer. That’s no longer the case as all their new cars have an immobilizer.
All 2022 and up models can't be stolen
says who likes toyota that gets poor? lol this is what happens if npc-like emotion is over logic and facts
@user-op7vy5ny4r this is an underrated comment. Well said!
Cheap car company finally shows its true colors
Kia/Hyundai 😂😂😂
Junk
Do not buy this car. Buy a Jeep and support America.
