Weve had Matrix/adaptive LED headlights in Europe for over a decade, they work perfectly fine... Take a look at how they work on youtube, cant be compared to the crap auto brights. Auto brights uses a lightsensor to spot lightsources infront of the car, matrix LED/adaptive LED uses cameras which can pick up on hundreds more lightsources individually.
Yeah my old opel from 2015 had matrix already. However even the best matrix from mercedes, audi etc, will blind you in sharp corner or over the hill etc.
It's less expensive than many Tundras, Sierra, F-150s and RAMs. You'd be at or near top trims to get many of the same features. Now, I think all truck prices are batshit crazy rn, but the Rivian is comparable to the overall market.
I might be mistaken, but I believe that type of glass was used in a restroom somewhere and applying power to it is what makes it clear. That way if the power goes out while you’re doing your business, you aren’t exposed by the clear glass.
Hate to say and will expect hate from those tesla supporters- I did receive my notification for my cybertruck but with all the reviews and me actually seeing one yesterday up close I'm dropping my 2019 day 1 order. What really pushed me from not getting at first was the cost. I ordered the tri-motor at $74,000 (something around this number) and the notification email said it was now ($119k) along with the range decrease of 200miles. I think the Rivian is super cool, super functional and affordable.
Tesla's increase in price and reduced range/towing, stopped me from using my Cybertruck reservation too. Tesla has started doing what legacy auto has done for decades, boasting up a new vehicle's performance and affordability. Then letting us all down with what they release to the market.
@@Resist4 they released a car that's superior in every other aspect to what they promised. of course, if you needed towing it can not be your choice, but, like 99% of people that buy a truck and do not tow, it's a great car that certainly did not let down anyone
For anyone still thinknig on getting one... do it. Our R1T has been nothing short of excellent and solid reliable for just over 20k miles. I'm actually jelly for these updates in the new R1T. Our experience has been so good that we are getting rid of our other daily car when the R2 comes out, and in fact we were about to get a R1S before those were announced, and we never owned 2 vehicles of the same brand before, ever.
20k miles of reliability should not be an accomplishment for a modern car. I'm happy rivian is pushing the electric car market but we will see how things turn out when a decent amount of high mileage data comes in. Hopefully they're still reliable at 100k, 200k miles and beyond.
I hope they've resolved the issue of certain panels in common crumple areas resulting in you needing to replace 40% or so of all the panels due to a unibody-esque design. It was ridiculous in the first version that a common fender bender could nearly total the entire vehicle.

Lol. You might be right.
it does worry me, at least with normal auto brights you can easily tell when they're not working (all the time)
Weve had Matrix/adaptive LED headlights in Europe for over a decade, they work perfectly fine...
That was my concern too. Also, I know that the EU ones are superior but I thought they were banned in the US, at least on highways.
Great job on the video Zack! Thanks for making it.
forgot most expensive
It's less expensive than many Tundras, Sierra, F-150s and RAMs. You'd be at or near top trims to get many of the same features. Now, I think all truck prices are batshit crazy rn, but the Rivian is comparable to the overall market.
? They are less than other electric trucks afaik, $70k to buy and can lease for cheap which many do.
So envy that the Rivian R1S / R1T is not available in Germany 🥲
These cameras look so crisp, really want these in my Model Y 😅
Good luck with Rivian going bankrupt before the end of this year
@@carloorelli3538hope not but that would be something that changes everything. Thanks for the heads up
Tesla's increase in price and reduced range/towing, stopped me from using my Cybertruck reservation too.
You get a subscribe for the 60 fps comment alone! Great review of a great truck. Thanks!
Do you realize Rivian is about to go bankrupt, do you?
@@carloorelli3538 Why do you think they will go bankrupt?
@@carloorelli3538 Youre clearly confusing Rivian and Fisker...
@@carloorelli3538 Lol we get it you don’t like Rivian. You don’t have to reply to every single positive comment ^
1000hp should be 1 Jerry, named after its humble inventor, JerryRigEverything.
Rivian is paying this guy or what ?
The Rivian truck is the 4th least reliable electric car for 2023. 😭
Another UA-camr advertising bad products for money. smh
If your source is consumer reports, might want to double check who is paying who...
@@paulbram2 I know right?! Consumer Reports has always been biased, that has been common knowledge for decades.
I really dig those shoes! Who makes those?
I would love to own a rivian…the first gen’s were nice and the new ones are still nice!
Although the surface was prepped and your tires warmed up, you still lost traction, so that’s why you only got 2.59s…not that that’s not impressive already…I mean it’s cool’s to be able to do that, but who uses that much on a daily basis?!😅
Great video, as always!
Launch control really takes that "beginner's luck" out of the equation 😊
Gold plate one of those? 😀 Great job on the video! The Rivian R3 and R3x are the most interesting of their concepts to me by far but we probably won't see those for years.
Great opportunity for rivian. Before they seemed a bit underwhelming. Now they seem like the best in class
I love this thing!! I'm seeing these all over Cincy, I would assume the market share would be much higher
