Our LG is 8+\- yrs. I try to leave the door open. Every wk or so I use a Lysol wipe on the door (no abrasive cleaners) - or even after a load of new dark towels or hoodies. Take another wipe and clean the folds of the door seal, and finally open the little door at the front and drain the overflow and clean the trap that looks like a gas cap. All good!
Mr Gizmo, I checked this video of yours as I am trying to find some way of easily pulling the gasket back from the metal edge of the drum to clean that out.... I am so glad I read through all the comments before adding mine. One person mentioned water and the issues that can cause - and of course if you live in the south then - HUMIDITY ! I was going to say "please tell me you just bought this house...." LOL. So it seems this has built up over time. We live in a coastal rain-forest so humidity+ and are on a well with very hard water. Wiping the glass each time, wiping down the gasket every other wash, leaving the door open, no mould and only the occasional gathering of fluff, hair, stuff(mud?). Not an angel, just keeping on top of looking after business. I would like to suggest a couple of things to really get after that mould. Fantastic Spray comes in a couple of formulations and will not damage the gasket. I always use the original one, and you clearly need to remove that *EWW*** mould. Spray it liberally on the mould and leave for 3-4 minutes. Put some dish-soap on a nylon scrubbie (one that looks like it is a ball of knitting) then go at it and scrub it off. There is no way you will damage the gasket and you will be able to get it off. If that does not do it then I hear Spray-9 is very good. Good Luck ! 😇
Best to do the following: after every wash run, wipe down the door and inside seal. Once laundry is completed for the day/week, etc... wipe down door, rubber seal and leave door open. I do this all the time-no mold. I also pull out the detergent/fabric softner dispenser and leave it in the drum between wash periods. Mold/mildew can get up in those places as well. Once a month or so, clean out the detergent/fabric softner dispenser and run a cleaning cycle with white vinegar or those cleaning tablets. Makes a huge difference.
On any front load clothes washing machine you need to leave the door open after you run a load to help it dry out. Most of the time we do a quick wipe down of the water on the inside of the door and the seal. We have yet to have any issues with any growth.

Geez, my washer is not THAT dirty, but the gasket intself the visible outer part has what you have: tar-like dots (mold) that do not come off with Barkeeper's Friend and a toothbrush, and a smiley hard sponge! What do I use?
Just buy a new gasket and flush it all out manually as the inside would be accessible. That is just surface cleaning, the inner guts could be worse. Top load vents better, venting out moisture is key. Keep your drains clear and filters clean. Always clean cycle your machine as well
We never had a front loader before and never really wanted one. In our new laundry room, a front loader works better. Other than this problem, it's been pretty good.
I watched a appliance repair video and they use a product called pool shock. It’s chlorine. I also read you can use two cups of bleach in the detergent tray and run an empty hot water cycle. I’m currently doing this now.
From Google: Whether it’s a glass cleaner, dishwasher detergent, toilet cleaner, floor cleaner, wood cleaner or more, combining bleach with various other cleaning products can result in the production of chlorine gas, resulting in severe respiratory and ocular problems. If you must use bleach, use it by itself.
Be careful, if you put too much bleach in you will get foam all over the floor 😆 I am going to try the pool shock. Bleach does something but not everything.
Use pool shock on that seal. It worked for me. Use gloves when handling it. I tried vinegar and it didn’t do jack shit. Get pool shock. It’s like $6 on Amazon.
do you know whats causing plastic rubber particles in my washer machine? I heard its cause of dirt and friction? DO i just avoid this by just rinsing it ?
You completely lost me when you mixed vinegar WITH baking soda. Why neutralize either the base or the acid? Its as silly as saying to "mix boiling water with ice cubes to make the best cleaner". Completely negates each other.
Probably a good idea not to let it get this dirty before you decide to clean. As you can see, this guy is struggling. Cleaning once every 3 months will keep it squeaky clean!
Lol, obviously your solution didn’t work. You’re not showing the inside of the gasket, you also didn’t show where the gasket sits next to the drum. If it didn’t work, be honest. The best way to clean this is using pool shock. I wet all the areas using water and a plastic scrubber. Then use gloved hands and spread pool shock everywhere, i mean everywhere. He did not show all the areas that house mold. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Come back and rinse with water and a sponge to get it off most of the way off and diluted. Then run at least 2 cleaning cycles on your washer and leave the washer door open at all times when not in use. You can even use a fan to help dry it out faster. I also like to wipe the gasket after my last load with a dry towel to begin the drying process for preventative maintenance.Yes, it is harsh but the methods he listed here just simply don’t work which is why he didn’t show the end result. These front load washer clean clothes much better but the gasket design is still flawed.
I tried that. Once you remove the seal you open up a whole new can of worms. You can see all the nasty scum inside the outer drum. That's the greatest source of the nasty smell. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75 /////////////

15 min is definitely not enough time to dissolve and remove the mould. Usually it should be left overnight and then repeat another method the next day would have been better.

88 "Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from their mortal body. 89 During the time that they lived in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the law of the Lawgiver perfectly. 90 Therefore this is the teaching concerning them: 91 First of all, they shall see with great joy the glory of him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders.
92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come;
and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality. 97 The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on. 98 The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified.
99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations."
102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75

probably mold so probably should wear rubber gloves
Great point and you are absolutely right!
When the washing machine is off the door should always be left open that’s the solution
Even with leaving the door open, my machine can get a weird smell and I have to drain out the water from the filter and clean the filter once a month and give it a light spritz with 50/50 water vinegar solution.
@@firenze5555The door seal needs wiping & drying after it’s been used plus leave the door open.
@@firenze5555use ox I lean to clean the machine with some hand towels to control foaming. Will remove the smell
disco cleaning ! !!!
You are cute and the fact that you know how to really clean a washing machine makes you hot. lol Thanks I will definitely clean my stinky front loader now.
Didn't work for me.
Doesn’t appear to have worked to well for him either.
No gloves 🤦🏾♀️
Man that seal is pretty bad. I have 2 years of usage and only a little black along the bottom part of the gasket. This looks like 5 years of no cleaning
This is he main reason I will never own a front loading washer. Disgusting!
15 min is definitely not enough time to dissolve and remove the mould. Usually it should be left overnight and then repeat another method the next day would have been better.
The longer the better for sure. Most people freak out about a 15 min wait ;)!
Don't you people clean your front loader after you use it. Mine is like new had it for 5 years.
The video was going so well and then the "music" started and I saw your ludicrous tattoo. I stopped watching as you lost all credibility.
Sorry Nick that you are sensitive to the music and my tattoo. Did the cleaning work? Yup!!
Please tell me this comment is a joke 😂😂😂
@@AstralConnections. It most certainly isn't. Other than 'tribal' tattoos in indigenous people, they are an affront to those tattooed by the Nazis in concentration camps.
Could not see the whole tattoo and what little I did see wasn't clear. The 'music' as you put it was fine
@@johndoe-vc1we "Music" horrible. Annoying noise.
