I love these "stuff to play unaccompanied" (or "when asked the dreaded question by friends or family") lessons. After all, you can't always get away with the old "this would sound better if I had a 15-piece band with a horn section" excuse. Thanks!!
I've been working a ton of hours lately so learning a song seems more like work right now. This is perfect for keeping a good practice habit. Thanks for the suggestions!
Good timing.. My noodling has been going in this direction. Just need to apply some of these ideas and structure. Also, bonus thanks🙏🏻your soothing playing settled my daughter back to sleep 😴
As always a nice musical idea for exploring the guitar with a good level of relaxed theory. I think the problem with noodling is that it is goal-less whereas your approach has some light rules which is always a benefit. Thanks Adrian!
i enjoy your videos. so friendly! this is a way that i practice during periods when i have limited time because it's like practice and performance in one
I often practice in a similar style to your 'advanced chords' section, just over jazz standards, and using a different voicing every time the same chord reappears. You can also set yourself fun challenges such as only using certain strings when building chords ect.
I've been trying to fit in a bit of this every practice session, mostly because it's just a lot of fun. But you've given me a few more ideas I hadn't thought of. Great lesson, as always. Many thanks!!
A fantastic video, and a great way for any player (perhaps those less experienced in particular) to free themselves up and play something worthwhile during practice. I am going to put a couple of chords on my looper to provide some guardrails for myself until I feel more confident with your concept. Thanks!
Wow 🎉. This short clip finally opened up my guitar playing. Thank you Adrian. I have learnt my triads, scales, chords, riffs, arpeggios but today I could finally put them all together in a fluent improvisational way. I am so grateful. It’s been my dream to do this for so many many years. Thanks Adrian 🙏.
Love it how you approached it. I could say I do it in a similar way, and it has helped me to develop better fretboard knowledge and improvisation skills, but still struggling in playing that melodies and finding that notes fluently just as they come to my mind. But always enjoying the path :)
Most of my 'guitar time' is spent like this, as opposed to more directed, specific song or technique practise. I feel slightly vindicated now - although I really ought to knuckle-down and just learn a few pieces properly. Thanks for the video, hope you are well!
Thanks for the video, enjoyed that, I spend a lot of time noodling 'nothing' or the same old things without much structure, so maybe this approach will help. Good idea for the lesson, cheers.
I hate to play my guitar because I play the same thing repeatedly. Then I noodle, and I feel like I suck at guitar. so now I am trying to find a new way to play. Discipline! when i find i pay the same riffs, i put the guitar down . I wait for a few minutes and start again.
Can u please give us the prerequisites Soo i only know maj ,min chords and caged shapes what all do i need to know to do this And whats the next step i can take
Hope you're doing well Adrian. Thanks for the video.
That's a great description....I approach it as having a conversation between me and my guitar....
Great open and musical exercise. Love it!
Outstanding. So many good ideas. Thank you.
No apologies needed, an absolutely wonderful guitar lesson.
One of the best tutors out there, many thanks Adrian.

This is great. Just comes at the right time for me. Thank you very much.
i've been waiting for this lesson!
I could use a complete video lesson on each segment of this video.
Wise words. He who makes no mistakes makes nothing. The master of this approach is Guthrie 'No need to blow the bloody doors off' Trapp.
Nice video Adrian, I'm liking that there is some beginner friendly stuff in there.

Great stuff Adrian….
No, I’ve got my homework ….
I’m glad you’re still teaching
This is pretty well all I do on the guitar. I wish I had a guitar at work right now where I'm watching this 😃
This is top quality tutorial!!! As always I try and watch it without the guitar in my hand first, so as to focus on what you're doing.
Great video. There’s a lot of good concepts in here. Thanks!
Finally something I can apply my triad studies to! Love this video and your channel!

Thanks for the video, enjoyed that, I spend a lot of time noodling 'nothing' or the same old things without much structure, so maybe this approach will help. Good idea for the lesson, cheers.
Adrian's a good teacher.
very mindful. very demure
I like the Elvis Costello specs! Adds to the ambience. 😁
Great title! Mindful AND useful noodling! Gonna noodle anyway, might as well be productive lol.
Cheers from Canada
Fish have scales, Aqua. thanks Adrian
Hi Adrian, super lesson. I noticed you embellishing triads there. I would love to see a lesson on how to embellish triads like adding a sus 2 or 4
Excellent content as always. Would you be able to do a lesson on Meathook by The Cure?
Very nice
thanks!
I really find your videos engaging and I love your style - any chance you could look at This is the Life by the cardiacs
it really makes alot of sense do bad i cant 2 chord backing tracks to play over
Nice chordal melody Adrian, thanks. Was that tough 4 finger chord SRV's favorite chord?

Is there any other type of Guitar playing?
Noodling, Circle of 5th's, Triads and scales. (Yes, Noodling is the most exciting 😂)
Noodling I Shall Be Released
