Why in the HELL do they wait til the last minute to demand “the perfect wedding” when planning takes at LEAST a year to properly plan a wedding!?! This woman is a saint to work with people with ridiculous expectations! 🤬😡🤬😡
It's not that they wait till the kast minute it's that they have short engagements. No sex before marriage so they tend to be in a hurry.
Money. They have to make a lot of it for this kind of wedding. Every minute counts.
They also get cancelled on a lot once it's discovered that they're travellers so doing things last minute minimises that
@@cheekyftoro8962their no sex before marriage rule is a joke, I know loads of unmarried traveller couples with kids.
That’s the whole culture of the community. They need to do everything at rapid pace, she probably hadn’t even met her husband 6 months before the wedding. They usually date for a month or two, get engaged, then are married within another few months.
Best series to exist pls bring back Thelma for a 2024 series
I hope Thelma was paid a lot for all her hard work! I had a year to plan mine, although I was doing it by myself, it was still quite a bit of work. Cant imagine being on that tight schedule 🤯
Yeah I agree with you she work so hard she like a nice person 😊
The father starts saving for the daughter's bride the day they're born the daughter also start saving money for her wedding . Thelma does mainly Gypsy traveler weddings and birthdays the girls dresses are very expensive and since thermal works for the traveler community she has a guaranteed income
Here to say. How awesome it is the animal rescue center was happy to have them.
I hope that the traveller's did not make a big mess afterwards at their venue
They have a terrible reputation for being entitled, fighting and ruining things. I can’t blame vendors for not wanting them. Sorry.
@@maryleung1425of course they did. They are disrespectful of others and properties.
Sad. She quit school at age 11 to “help” her mom with the cleaning and the other kids. That should be against the law. Her mom probably sits around all day. Mary seems like a really sweet girl.
It’s just their culture.
@@virginiaashelynharmon4914 cultures are able to be criticized dear
@@smokingsymbiotes oh yea I’m very well aware. They sometimes will break from the norm and stay in school longer or get jobs.
@@virginiaashelynharmon4914 I love that for them, as long as they have the ability for education and to go back if wanted/needed hell yeah
@@smokingsymbiotes well I’m not entirely sure if they are. I don’t know everything about it but I believe that they sometimes might allow it if their parents are ok with it
Kudos to Thelma and her team for coordinating the wedding (in a very short time), as well as making all of the dresses (even if it was 15 years ago!). That was nothing less than grace under pressure. And, kudos also to the manager of the Animal Shelter for transforming the venue into a pink wedding dream. The bride was very pleased. Hope the couple will live happily ever after. 🙂❤
Why can’t they continue filming the weddings now? Would be so awesome.. How much views it still gets and it’s an 15 year old episode.
If u look up travel wedding its not this show but they are beautiful very updated !! But deff need a where are they now!!
The guy wearing the shirt that reads Bed-ucated says it all.
Classy
I loved seeing her try to get down the aisle of the church in that huge dress! Too funny!
10 plus years later and this American hasnt found a tv show i LOVE MORE!!! BEST SHOW EVER!
I want an update on Mary SO badly!!! This wedding was almost 15 years ago!
I know! There should be a big big update but I have some tea to spill ok so josie McFadden isn’t with Swanley since 2013/2012 her sister barbara isn’t with her husband either since a long time ago pat and sam the non gypsy who married a gypsy sam left pat within the 2010’s and I think that’s all but if u want more updates I will give u some
@@Xxxxxdn she’s still with her husband and has 3 kids 2 girls 1 boy
Cheyenne has been married to John McFadyen for 12 years now snd i think they have 4 children.
@@GenaFI thought they had 3.
I agree they should do a follow up series and show all the changes. This was a great show, learning more about gypsys and their way of life.
Travels have a terrible reputation because of their always fighting. Venues don’t want damage to the property.
Not all travellers are the same so not all shud be given a bad reputation at the end of the day rock stars trash hotels and venues and get drugged up are they banned from all venues and hotels due to their destructive behaviours no they don't, no personal shud be judged on their race or culture or background heritage as everyone is diffrent
@@michelleanderson1739the difference with rockstars and a-hole a-list celebrities: they have management and reps that handle the hassle of compensation and insurance. You know you’ll get compensated for damages. And they generate positive pr and thus income. Instead of a ‘bye bye try to catch me’, ‘already in jail and no income on paper’ or the classic ‘shut your mouth or we’ll burn it down’ and a public that wouldn’t even want to be found dead in a venue that’s ‘famous’ from the 8 o’clock news.
@@michelleanderson1739 They vandalise the venues. So venues don't allow them anymore. Extremely reasonable.
Why not pay in advance and with a damage deposit up front like everyone else? I've learned that no one really cares about the damage if you've the dosh to fix it when you're done.🤷🏽♀️🎭
@@michelleanderson1739 "should"
I don’t get it. They live in a tiny caravan then spend an enormous amount of money on a tacky wedding.
Where is all the money coming from I ask myself.
Great question......skammers.?@@SB-mm9zh
Yeah I definitely don’t get it either, but I guess everyone got their own priorities lined up
@@SB-mm9zh. They’re gypsies. Where do you think it comes from?
Their ways their traditions. Everyone is different. Bless the happy couple xxx
The camera man needs his hard drive checked the way they film the teen girls dance
Maybe its the inappropriately sexy horny dance that has to be checked. Look how they're sexualized at a young age... Is it a wedding or a little wh0re carnival?
By far one of the nicer weddings on the show. Speaks volumes that Thelma planned the entire thing. I can’t get over the unique fashion sense in the traveler and Roma community
I don't think "minimalism" will ever catch on in the Traveler community!
Lol, they blow the roof off when they party BECAUSE they live such a minimalist everyday life! This is their one chance to let loose.
Such beautiful dresses, they remind me of the dresses in Gone With The Wind, such big skirts. Thelma and her team are fantastic. Plus well done to the Animal Shelter for making everything so beautiful.
I loved her dress! The white horses and pink! I loved the beautiful venue. I can't believe Thelma took all this on!
The cake table was unbelievable!
The mini brides ❤
She looks like she’s gonna break her ankles and those heels does she even know how to walk in heels??
Why do the girls who are not in the wedding, dressed like they are going to a rave or something. Some of the outfit are quite reveling. And, IMHO, kind of trashy.
Kind of? Seriously trashy and gaudy.
Culture, they have different ways of doing things. What we see as trashy is not to them. Imagine living in large families in small trailers all the time. Not much privacy there, so most have seen more as part of daily life so what does it matter if clothing shows more when you see that anyway.
I thought some of the guests were circus performers too!
I think "dressed like they are going to a rave" is putting it kindly
thats how they catch husbands because they arent allowed to just talk to boys only during family chaperoned events so they dress to stand out.
Just watching all those girls wobble in their high heels ! 😁
Wonder what the cost is for such an enormous wedding ?
Surprisingly, the priest was my favorite character 😂
I love Fr Michael, he helped me get sober. He is an absolutely amazing man! Was such a surprise to see him on this lol!
@@NeshaCora he seems like he would be a kind and sensible friend.. gotta take things one day at a time :)
Okay the first bride life's with her single Mother and 7 siblings, so........who is paying for this bigger better gypsy wedding?
You don’t need to worry about that.
Her dad
I love the full episodes ❤
My daughter would be absolutely over the moon to have her wedding at the animal shelter , in fact knowing her it would be her first choice !
That’s wack
Why? I would also love to have a receptionist at an animal center.
Funding a wonderful cause and promoting the needs of the shelter.
Mine, too!
And ALL of the 4 legged fuzzies would have beeen invited to my wedding!
Could their clothes be any more inappropriate???
To who
YOU? You weren’t even invited
WOW, the reception venue was done quite spectacularly! I am typically a minimalist, but that was really fun and beautiful!
I'm sorry Mary left school at 11 to 'Help' her Mother with the housework and children? Its a caravan for goodness sake do these mothers not care about their child's education, and I don't blame the venues cancelling sometimes maybe they have had trouble in the past and don't want it again.
No, it’s literally about controlling the females. Basically they just want them to be basically servants and baby makers. Honestly, they will literally try to marry their daughters off at 14 years old to their cousin. All these females are only taught to do is cook, clean and be a servant to their husband and pop out a couple babies. I’m not saying every single traveler or gypsy but the majority of them are like that and it’s messed up because the males even if they’re 15 years old can go do stuff with females but the female travelers are gypsies have to stay pure the males could literally sleep with like 50 females and like I said they could be 15 or 16 years old and they don’t care they don’t get shamed or anything but the females have to stay pure. There was this girl on the show where literally her parents took her out of school and literally all they taught her was to cook, clean and be a servant to her father so then she can learn to be a servant to her husband. I’m not saying it’s not OK to learn those basic life skills. Of course it is but I mean that is their whole life and they know they can’t leave their husbands if they want out because they literally have an eighth grade education the females and it’s sad it’s manipulation I getwhen somebody’s culture when it’s literally degrading women and manipulating them and turning them into servants, and not like wives no it’s not OK but that girl I was talking about. She left the community and actually became an MMA fighter and her family disowned her some traveler or gypsy parents are pretty lenient, but it’s rare to get those parents in the gypsy and travel world. but she literally said the one that left and her family disowned her because she didn’t want to get married to her cousin and she was 14. She literally said it’s abuse. She literally said she didn’t even know what fun was but they sway them with these beautiful wedding dresses, and the wedding and everything like that
Thats the excuse they use to pull their daughters out of school so they arent "influenced" by outside people and realize that theres a whole other world out there.
A Beautiful and amazing wedding, the best I have seen on Gypsy Weddings
‘gypsy’ weddings are not actually like this.
These people are not gypsies. Only Romani people are gypsies
You can bet she gets paid upfront for all her hard work and success
I would ask for it up front.
Thought I'd dropped into an episode of Phoenix Nights when they were auditioning the acts for entertainment on the night!! 😂😂😂
Just wondering? What happens to these amazing dresses after the wedding?
It did turn out wonderfully well, the nicest wedding yet on this show. The venue guy did an exceptional job as did the cake ladies and the dressmakers. And all in such a short notice! Just crazy! I wouldn't call it a royal style wedding, more of a Disney princess style, but it was lovely. The bridesmaids had beautiful dresses too, unlike in some other weddings, dressed in flashy yellow and green etc
We were saving up for 2 years for our wedding, I had a custom-made wedding dress - a copy of Grace Kelly wedding dress, my husband-to-be had a white suit with a hat, we had a horse-drawn carriage (a royal style, not Disney princess style), a live band, professional photographer and cameraman, but the cake was of normal proportions, without excess and we didn't have bridesmaids as that is not a tradition from any of our countries (we are not from the same country). We did have an organizer, which helped a lot, but it was still stressful, I can't imagine doing it all in 3 weeks!
Our wedding wasn't cheap, but gypsy/traveller's weddings must cost a fortune. I wish all the girls had money to organize a splendid wedding. To feel like a princess for one day sure is great!
I can’t even imagine the cost.
I wonder how Mary the traveller is doing ...I hope she doesn't have 7 children or more to take care of ...
Mary said ...her fiance thinks he owns her ...big red flag there
Thelma, you and your team are amazing! For the short amount of time you are given, you come through spectacularly! They better pay you what you are worth. . .every penny!!
Waiting until a couple weeks out and surprised it’s hard to find a venue or anything else?
Last Isaw noreen on here she either owned a salon or worked in one
She did the cakes first then opened the salon.
Velma always stresses out . But somehow everything gets worked out in the end and everybody ends up walking around smiling so she should think of that instead of thinking about how stressful it is to get to that moment that that moment is going to happen gracefully as always
At least wear shoes you can walk in 😂
I had a big hooped skirt on my wedding dress. It was horrible to move around in.
I wish I'd gone a little bit smaller so I could have enjoyed the day more.
Why don’t they build their own venue with a few different rooms and then they would have no trouble finding a place to accept them?
Because it's their culture to be accommodated, not to accommodate.
@@cilanatroisbetterthanparsley thanks for your reply. But, since they have such a hard time being accepted it would make things easier. What makes them think they are so entitled?
@@susanmcgrath585 A mentality that you grew up with, and one that is never challenged because criticism = racism, won't change. They think they're entitled because their parents think they're entitled and they pass that on to their children, and since their community doesn't mix with other communities, it's never challenged. Or when it is, traveIIers beat those people up because it's "racism" (maIe traveIIers in prison and some of the girls with ankle bracelets as a consequence of their vioIence are shown in other episodes)
Because then they would have to pay property taxes and business registration and all of that. I take it Travellers want to be independent of the government. They work cash jobs and can up and leave whenever
I love when they call the full ball gowns “stickie outie” 😊
I just can’t wrap my head around “the wedding” being the high point in life. No education, no knowledge of economics or life. Only concerned with looking “beautiful”. Wow.
I know there are old episodes and i know i have seem them over and over but does anyone know how Thelma is and if she still has her dress shop-these are very redundant but also fun to watch
Pretty sisters. Thelma is crazy efficient and pulled off a lovely memorable wedding
The venue looked amazing
The bride seems genuinely sweet. Just wonder why they would spend thousands and thousands on a one day event rather than on a couple years of college education.
Because in their culture, the women are pulled out of school at a very, very young age or they don’t go to school at all. Basically, when they’re a traveler or a gypsy, they’re just taught as a female to cook, clean, and basically be a servant to their husband so their parents either like I said, don’t send them to school at all or they pull them out at a very young age so a lot of them have a second grade education or seventh or eighth grade education and like this girl in the video was pulled out at 11 years old I don’t know 100%. If this is what went down in her life but majority of what happens is that all their skills are is a cook, clean and be a servant to their fathers, and then once their father finds a male suitor, then they can be basically a servant to their husband and some of these girls are 14 and their parents are marrying them off to a 25-year-old or older and sometimes it’s a cousin. But it’s sad because a lot of these women can’t go out into the real world because again they only have a second grade or seventh or eighth grade education, which makes it harder for them to stand on their own 2 feet and it’s really sad because the gypsies are the traveler males. Even if they’re 15 years old can go do whatever they want with other females, but a traveler or gypsy female can’t even kiss someone because they’ll be branded as unworthy of marriage basically tainted. But a lot of the times they throw these big extravagant weddings, extravagant wedding gowns and everything like that to lure these females into marriage. I’m not saying all but majority. There was a 15 year-old girl that was on an episode and all she knew how to do was cook clean and be a servant basically which of course it is good to have those skills but not make it your whole entire life. I mean a lot of these girls can’t even really go out in public or anything until their parents find them a male suitor. But that’s what she said is that she was basically confined into her parents camper trailer and all she would do was clean be a servant to her father and then they found her a male suitor and she’s 15 years old and they’re going to marry her off to a 25-year-old, and it’s her cousin. Well, she didn’t want that she broke away from the community. They shunned her thank gosh she broke statistics, and actually became an MMA fighter, a professional one, and she actually came out with a documentary outing traveler and gypsy community and how they manipulate the girls and the women.
"College education"?? These girls don't need a college education because their aim in life is to be nothing more than "a good wife"!!
They act like they’re the only ones that marry for life. 😂
Wonder how much this wedding was or what barters were made for payment ❤ beautifully done
I loved this wedding! Everyone and everything was gorgeous!
Love all the dresses. They are stunning
i respect them dress makers ...the hours they put in! jeez
They are just so disrespectful
If they weren't so uneducated and ignorant they could have a much better life and be taught to raise their children properly
Is this show still going? Also… where do they store those huge dresses in a caravan?
1. No 2. The dressmaker has it until the day. Most of the volume is made up of hoop skirts and petticoats etc. the actual dress wouldn’t be that big can be vacuum sealed
I loved this wedding well done Thelma ❤❤😊
I hope Thelma pays her staff well!
I saw a documentary a while back that showed venues don't want to work with Gypsies because they skip out on the bills.
What a beautiful wedding and bride. I know she was over the moon happy and then some. Loved all the bling and perfection.
Bring back luvs it miss❤
Mary is very rude to female entertainers.
MAybe if they stopped wrecking peoples hotels etc they wouldnt find it so hard
Can’t believe she’s turning her nose up at the venue she’s lucky she’s got anywhere
Is this still on tv?
I always forget that there's a grabbing culture at these weddings 43:36
Most important over the top dress, nails, bleached hair, and nothing else...moving to a caravan.
I would love to have my wedding there. I love animals and animal rescues.
Wouldn’t do Thelma’s job for the world, tacky demanding, and what the hell do they do with those dresses afterwards you’d need a storage unit it to put it in
I can’t honestly say I’m surprised hotels turn travellers weddings down,
What happens to the dress after the wedding?
I miss the UK version of this show, they don’t air this in the US anymore & to me it was always more interesting.
So why don’t travelers open their own businesses/event spaces to get married in
That’s what I’ve always thought. Maybe they wouldn’t be so inclined to treat the place so badly if it was Gypsy owned.
They get run out of towns. They don’t stay long until they are forced to leave.
They might have to pay tax then!
Their culture is to be accommodated, not to accommodate.
How do they pay for everything?
Cash in hand, they don’t pay any tax
It's what their group tells them and what they grew up andculture. Can't compare royals vs a gypsy wedding
It was hard to tell who the guests were and who the circus performers were!
She must of made ££££%%%£ out of this wedding lol 😅
3anjad 😂 if they paid her that is
❤ beautiful 😊
Everyone,and everything
So nice
Tacky weddings have no taste.
The girl could be beautiful if she learned to do hair and makeup.
How much does a Wedding of this scale cost?
No sound
Being a princess is not what it seems
What a beautiful Wedding Love everything about its beautiful the bride us absolutely gorgeous love PINK!
I find it a shame that we put high heels on the youngest children 😢
Where do they get all of the money
After watching this show I have some thouhts to share: 1-this girls did not finish school and they want to be married. Its not safe to Get married Uneducatec. 2-the wedding dress and the other dresses must be expensive. So what do you do with them after the wedding? 3- I hope girls Get a chanse in the future to see their parents. 4-we all choose a certain life style, and each life stale has Got it pros and cons. 5-i found the show Really interesting because it has showed me Completely different life style and values due to mine. I wish that girl a lot of happiness in mariage. Being married is not a easy thing to rock❤️

@@heartshapedsweets thank you very much

What do they do with the dresses after? Do they keep them or sell them
Can’t understand why they expect to plan a huge, extravagant wedding in 3 weeks, that’s ridiculous. I can understand why people don’t want to rent to them, they destroy every facility they rent.
1. Because they’re on a tv show deadline, duh 2. Wtf kind of generalized statement is this?
Poor felemr I feel bad for her like she’s has so much stress on her to make the wedding perfect it’s not fair
Don't feel sorry for nothing I'm sure she charges enough for those one of a kind dresses.

Where does the money come from? Is my question.
I’m not saying, every traveler or gypsy is like this, but a lot of the times they’re very good at scamming Why do people think they travel around the country? I mean same in the United States.
I wonder how they can afford all of this, wonder if it's the show that's allowing them to go all out. Would like to see a real live documentary of all of this but seeing if they can pay for all of this all on their own without the show. Do they pay for it all on their own and not using the show. No disrespect here just curious since they live in a small camper. I lived in one and we can barely afford anything
Can’t watch any more it’s truly sickening
