To this day, that reception to Jason X pisses me off. While Jason Lives will always be my personal favorite, this movie is way up there, as well. And for much the same reason. Imagine that. I don't want to hear anyone tell me this movie is "too silly" when Part 6 began with a James Bond opening parody.

It's almost as if reviewers believe 2 movies attempting the same thing can vary in quality.

It wouldn't be that much of a stretch. Jason was in Mortal Kombat X, Mortal Kombat crossed over with DC in MK Vs DCU and both Injustice games. Plus, I think Superman fought the Alien which, like Jason, was also in Mortal Kombat X. So it all comes full circle.

Apollo the 13th
The holodeck diversion scene is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
It's also my 4th favorite film in the series, after the very first, one, the remake, and Freddy vs Jason.
I consider this film a guilty pleasure.
It's actually one of the best Friday films. The concept is stupid, but unlike JGTH, it's executed well. It's pure campy cheesiness at its best. There's barely a dull moment in it and most of the deaths are good.
And that's okay.

When I first heard the title I thought Jason had taken up the civil rights movement.
The "sitting up" move was adopted by the Undertaker and Kane from horror movies, I think - specifically Michael Myers at the end of the first Halloween.
I've ignored The Cinema Snob's F13 reviews until recently. Having watched them all now? BRILLIANT! Subscribed.
This was one of my favorite Friday the 13th movies. Simply because of how much everyone had fun with it. And some of the deaths were pretty cool.
Also it was WAY better than Jason goes to Hell.

Its cool to see so many reviewers giving this movie some positivity. I feel like 5 years ago, Jason x was a reviled punching bag, but more often I'm seeing people recognize how funny and different it is (in a good way)

Like Freddy vs Jason, I was able to see this in theater and being the age I was at the time, it never bothered me because I got what it said on the tin. Jason in Space. Jason was, indeed, in Space. Though I was never a huge fan of Andromeda so I entirely missed the actresses being from there.
I think at least this "in space" sequel of this series at least it tries to explain how Jason ends up in space. I don't recall "Leprechaun 4: In Space" explaining that.
Not only comics, but a book series featuring Jason X was made as well. Which is strange, to say the least.

I was working at a movie theater when it came out. It remains the only movie I ever walked out of. I refused to even go in and clean that theater I kept trading off with co-workers. I just could not - admittedly I really dislike TIm Burton films to begin with so this was the last straw for me. lol. eh.
Hey, as much as it was nothing like the original soap, it did bring a lot of young blood to the next DS con.
The movie did have its moments. Actually, if they cut out all the "18th century vampire exploring the '70's," I would've called it good. (The Collins family was very conservative, there wasn't much 70's in or around their house.)

This movie was schlock, completely self-aware of how ridiculous the series had gotten to that point. It's not the best in the series, but it was fun enough.
You know with how crazy this movie concept was, I actually enjoyed it for what it's worth. The fact that Jason looked so fucking bad ass in cyborg parts along with the kills he pulled off, it was a somewhat 7/10 type film for me.
