Quirky sounding but also very clean sounding, which is why I like it. Could be a fun pedal to use situationally. Thanks for posting, I'll definitely consider this.
I had an Earthquaker Organizer and the little bit of latency drove me nuts. I always felt like it was a note behind me when I'd play fast. I hear the EHX POG has excellent tracking, but I'm not really looking for an octave pedal anymore. It's definitely something to be aware of when shopping for one though.
Mike you should give online lessons, you'd make a fortune and help a lot of us who are fans learn some of those approaches you take. I've learned a lot from learning stuff on ur videos so I'll stick w that and be happy. Thanks for the inspiration in a world of covers.
I feel like it tracks noticeably slower than something like the POG, but the tone quality is about the same. I'd probably use it more for ambient swells. Would to see a short demo of how it sounds with a compressor and just some sustained chords. Do the octaves trail off nicely as the signal from the guitar gets quieter? Or does it just kinda stop or glitch to an end? Awesome playing as always!
need a pedal to emulate bass guitar for my one man band, saving me bringing out my bass to every gig, I loop guitar first sometimes, sometimes bass...so with sub turned up all the way and no upper dialed in..is there a setting that would create that sound relatively accurate?
+Raj Soni Have you seen the Digitech Trio? You just strum a few chords and it'll "learn" your rhythm and then automatically create a bass and drum track for you! A very useful tool for a one man band like yourself. www.prymaxevintage.com/digitech-trio-band-creator/
i think I do know of this bad boy, I will take another look though. But I am still curious...which pedal would be best for emulating bass? I really dont need a fancy pog or any multi button knob tweaker pedal, literally just trying not to have to bring a bass out to every gig, and free up a channel on the mixer too! lol. I think this guy would handle it, but the demos dont show what it sounds like when the dry is removed completely. if there is even a smidgen of latency in the tracking, I am screwed. I am not quantizing my loops or anything, they are just organically built on the fly. I use the Digitech Jamman Stereo for my backing tracks and loops. :)
+Raj Soni We recommend the Nano POG. The original POG and POG 2 have way more options than you need, yes. but the Nano POG just has three knobs and takes up a fraction of the space. You can turn up the volume of the sub octave while keeping the octave up and dry signals all the way down to emulate bass on your guitar. Plus, since we have a sixty day return policy, you can always return it if wasn't what you had in mind. www.prymaxevintage.com/electro-harmonix-nano-pog-polyphonic-octave-generator/
This sounds OK . .more like my old Roland GR 33 . . it gets a little on the plinky sound at some points and the tracking does wobble in few spots. Some full chords would've been the best at the end. Great playing in your demo as always.
Hey, I was wondering if this pedal will play the regular note with one octave higher added on top? Or when this is turned on does it only play one above and one below?
does anybody use this effect for anything other than messing around. i cant think of one song that uses this. it just sounds plain awful. there is tom morello type stuff i suppose
Not sure if it is this specific pedal, but jake from umphreys McGee uses an octave pedal in a way similar to the first example in this video. It actually sounds pretty legit when done correctly. Like someone else said, you can get an organ vibe using these
Paramore uses octave up effects in a couple of songs (both in clean and distortion settings) and I think they make a good use of this effect also, an octave down can make a band with a single guitar sound huge in the mix. it's a good choice for accentuating parts of the song
Is there a way to split the octave? So I could have everything below middle C (or A above middle C for example) set to -1 or -2 and then upper notes without any effect? Is that asking too much of this pedal?
i recommend mooer effects. if you are looking for a high gain mini pedal, check out the cruncher by mooer. and see the demo i've just made of it. thanks.
Great demo, awful sounding pedal. I tried the Pure Octave in my local shop and can assure you it sounds no better in real life: the lower octave is growly and unreliable, and the upper octave is horrendously out of tune. Don't even try to play a chord through this thing. I can't believe it hasn't been taken off shelves yet - disappointing as I am very much a fan of Mooer products and mini pedals in general. Save your money!

You play the lick 1:03
haha! yup...
i always wanted to know how they did that 70's porn melodies
What the heck dude...this is about octavers not knowing 70's porn music.Stop thinking about that then.
omar mokhtar You need to lighten up, mr. serious.
I can even hear "yeeeeah, yeah...oh yeah, you like that?"
pepto lol ok now I'm chilled out about this topic..
They didn't have octave pedals back then. You actually had to play octave notes like Wes Montgomery. or George Benson.
Nice work. Most sounds are very usable. Thanks!

0:58 the lick
the lick at 0:59
bet it sounds crazy with a good fuzz
Would sound really cool. Should've done it
I love this pedal, I use it more than my boss OC3 which is also very nice
Sounds best, when it's switched off
Yo momma it's switched off
@@leonruvalcaba1549 and your momma is so poor that she can only afford Mooer and Behringer pedals

Really should have examples of Over drive, Fuzz, and Distortion in general.
for sure, i've just made a demo of the cruncher distortion, check it out. thanks.
I still have yet to find an octave pedal I like more than my boss oc2.
Maybe I am wrong but latence of creating octave is too big and hearable
sounds great man, thanks
what are you playing at 2:30? like intervals?
my main question, is there any noticable latency?
At 3:28 you got a bass sound (idk WHY you did not keep on it). Is it consistent? I want a pedal which could emulate a bass. Thank you
People, please.... its a 40U$ gear..... Its great for the value if you need one octaver on the budget. Lol
Shoulda paired it with a fuzz for some fun
would like to hear it with a distortion or fuzz pedal in the chain....sounds a little like a cranked whammy
Nice demo. Did you experience any weird sound or latency?
I feel like it tracks noticeably slower than something like the POG, but the tone quality is about the same. I'd probably use it more for ambient swells.

Awesome playing as always!
How many of you feel that the sub octave is so annoying ?
It doesn't sound natural ! Darn
was the demonstrator obsessed with the lick?
can someone explain what is the sense of mooer tender octave at this point?

+Prymaxe .. this is why you folks rock. thank you for the info. I'm saving up so I'll be purchasing relatively soon. Thx guys
Thanks! You rock, too! :) Email us at sales@prymaxe.com when you're ready to purchase and we'll hook you up. :)
Instantly cool pedal but I feel that the latency is far too much.
does it work with a bass?
This sounds OK . .more like my old Roland GR 33 . . it gets a little on the plinky sound at some points and the tracking does wobble in few spots. Some full chords would've been the best at the end. Great playing in your demo as always.
Haha the lick
Does it have hearable latency?
Hey, I was wondering if this pedal will play the regular note with one octave higher added on top? Or when this is turned on does it only play one above and one below?
Use the knobs to dial the low note out. Sorry for the late response! lol
I don't like the sound in general. I expected a second octave with guitar sound, but it looks like a keyboard
does anybody use this effect for anything other than messing around. i cant think of one song that uses this. it just sounds plain awful. there is tom morello type stuff i suppose
jimi hendrix made good use of it
Combine it with a reverb and you'll get interesting sounds too. It also goes pretty well with jazzy stuff. Sounds organy.
Im my band, we play that Figure it Out song by the Royal Blood and for the solo i use an octave up and fuzz
Not sure if it is this specific pedal, but jake from umphreys McGee uses an octave pedal in a way similar to the first example in this video. It actually sounds pretty legit when done correctly. Like someone else said, you can get an organ vibe using these

The sub-octave sounds horrible most octave pedals. I think the EHX Pog is the only exception.
im from india which site can i buy this pedal ???
www.aliexpress.com
amazon
Aliexpress
Is there a way to split the octave? So I could have everything below middle C (or A above middle C for example) set to -1 or -2 and then upper notes without any effect? Is that asking too much of this pedal?
Aww come on I wanted to hear a couple chords
1:41 to 2:15 you can hear intervals and chords...
Yeah, no fill bar chords..
Even the EHX POG can't handle full chords without sounding glitchy.
laurens b Not true, at least not for the POG2. You'll pay 4 times as much for it though.
i recommend mooer effects. if you are looking for a high gain mini pedal, check out the cruncher by mooer. and see the demo i've just made of it. thanks.
i love this guys vids but draw the line at the full on lick in the melody
Great demo, awful sounding pedal. I tried the Pure Octave in my local shop and can assure you it sounds no better in real life: the lower octave is growly and unreliable, and the upper octave is horrendously out of tune. Don't even try to play a chord through this thing.

I think you've been unlucky.mine is just fine
Yo momma is growly and unreliable
My one is perfect, you've been unlucky or god knows how are you using it
sounds like porno music
Nice size but simply not as nice sounding as the micro pog.
Sounds best doing ambient swells. Never use the pedal playing like this.
Is this clone from Boss Super Octave OC-3? What's the difference between them?
Great playing btw Mike :)
Grammatical Erorr that's what I want to know and DOES. IT PLAY CHORDS!?!?
No, close but no cigar. Nice try, Mooer, better luck next time. Latency & tracking!
I heard the licc
would be nice to hear how this sounds with some distortion, not everyone looking at a Octave pedal is a wannabe bass player
tuyệt voi
Another Tele......Royal T pickup.
Great pickup
crunchy ass
sounds like absolute shit. is there a slap back delay on or is that just the latency? Jesus.
Upper knob is pain in ass...
Yo momma is pain in ass...
Sounds like depression cherry
To much digital for me
Why would anyone ever want this? Maybe if they're wanting to play the Star Wars cantina tune, but after that....useless.
yuk
Hmmm, sounds nice but I'd never want my guitar to sound like that.
Sounds awful. Should have kept my Pog 1...
Real awful pedal except for making primus music lol
who cares about Primus.
Puertecitos68 primus sucks!
Primus sucks
I do not like at all.
Horrible
ewwwwww! horrible.
OUT OF TUNE !!
TOO BAD
HE PLAYED *t h e l i c k*

Latency is much less ass you go up the neck...
Freudian slip ;)
@@PrymaxeDemos Sure. The higher you go on the neck, the farther from the buttocks.
