That's true, but he would have deserved more points. It is incomprehensible to me why there were only 18 points from the spectators. The jury voting was okay, but still, a few countries had given Germany zero points, which I don't understand.
here was another singer who, like Nemo and Dons, didn't need troops of backing dancers or excessive scenery.

For me the strongest performance. Great voice without background dancer or a dramatic show. His voice is in the focus. And this should be the focus of this show instead of the exaggerated performances I have seen so far. Just my opinion.

@@highdefinist9697 Die durchschnittliche Platzierung hat er nur durch die Jury bekommen, denn beim Publikum ist er durchgefallen... da kamen kaum Punkte zusammen. Also im Endeffekt auch wieder durchgefallen
Ohne Jurypunkte wäre er auf den letzten Plätzen gelandet, weil er von den Ländern kaum Punkte bekommen hat. Da frag ich mich aus welchem Sumpf er Deutschland gezogen hat?

I agree. from Ohio. This was hands down a top 3 preformer. Idk what happened with those votes but it doesn't add up in my eyes. Switzerland was handed that win by the judges. Too much politcal agenda in those votes.
@NM-qd3tm The public votes work like this: every country has a jury vote and a public vote. The public vote means that people call for their preferred acts and afterwards the votes are counted. The act with the most votes get 12 points, the second most 10…..8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 (don’t ask me why we don’t give 9 or 11). Therefore only the 20 most voted for artists get points. The other votes don’t count.
So, if you would end up on place 11 in every country you would have 0 points, even though lots of people would have voted for you.
I forgot: the public votes of all countries are added together, after being converted to the points I mentioned already.

Being German, it was actually exciting seeing the points rising. Sure, it wasn’t 12 points or anything, but considering how many we got the last few years (0-15) this was definitely the most excited I have been since 2018. thank you all. And thank you Isaak for your great performance. I am hearing your song on my way to university at least once and sing along each and every time. Already back at the national selection, you were my favorite.

If he had competed for another country like Sweden, he would have finished in the top 7. He had the best male voice in the competition alongside the French singer and he felt it. This man had to take so much criticism in his own country, he was so beaten up by the Germans and now he has taught them all better. Last place again, my ass. Be proud of yourself.

@marvin2678 Not at all. When he won the german final, he got hated a lot. They called him deserved last place, ridiculous, nothing special, can't sing etc. Typical germans. He's shown those haters that he definitely has amazing potential and got a good placement. I personally always liked the song and I'm happy with how it turned out. I saw him a bit higher but I can't complain with 12th place. He can be proud of himself.
@@kosaft well "Can't sing" wasn't the point many people made... most indeed did recognize him as a good singer, but, the number 1 argument against him was that the song would be "too boring". And well ^^' I still think the song itself could have been more exiting. But that's my own oppinion, I loved Norways entry most and they got last.
@derschattenpoet I don't know how many comments you've seen but there were a bunch of people saying that his voice is not good enough for the esc or even bad. Also, many songs this year were pretty much radio songs. I think Switzerland had one of the worst songs + vocals this year and they won. It's a song you easily forget in my opinion. Isaac's strong voice definitely made his song even better. And Norway their placement definitely was, unexpected and undeserved.

I heard "our" song the first time on tv and thought ok, it's okay. Solid voice, nice one. But maybe no big deal, it stays waaay behind other countries. Now I am like wooooow, hold on a sec. It is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Completely focused on his voice like it should be. Love from Germany.
