I'm a fan of all types of Motorsports, but I've followed this series since I was a kid and has to be one my favorite! Such a good race! Amazing job to everyone!
I'm impressed with the level of respect the drivers gave each other in this race. So few yellows and collisions. It's a further refinement of what's happened most of this year. Few yellows at Daytona and one of the races (Road America?) went completely green. IMSA shows that the ACOs long held fears about gentleman drivers were mostly over nothing.
That is why we race, why we watch, why never give up. You couldn't have delivered a better race unless it was scripted. Heart goes out to they teams who gave it their all and missed the mark. Without failure there can be no growth.
Thank you IMSA! Now I'm wondering if the races will continue to be posted to UA-cam within a couple of days next year with NBC carrying the events, or will they handle it like they have the Olympics? NBC has made it nearly impossible to view the Olympics online, and I certainly hope that isn't the case next year with the Weather Tech Championship. IMSA has been incredible these recent years.
I am going to see the PLM this year, 2019, my 2nd IMSA race. I need suggestions - where is the best viewing? Turn 12 is my favorite turn on the entire IMSA calendar, but I'm not sure where to view. Ideas? Thanks!
IMSA Radio needs someone that's actually watching the race. The 5 ran out gas and lost and nothing was called for that entire last half of the lap, come on guys. They're great commentators no doubt but it's just the important things that happen seem less important to the standard viewer
they were barely paying attention the entire race! love those guys but i think they need a new play by play commentator i think throughout most of the race i knew more about what was going on than they did
I think they did perfectly fine considering they commentated for 10 straight hours. Yes they missed some stuff, but they did a magnificent job of translating the strategy and racing to the viewers through crunching the numbers, keeping the viewer informed on the incidents that race control were reviewing, and narrating the story being played out on screen. Yes they missed some stuff but they are human after all and by the end I can do nothing but applaud them for the job they did.
@@SamuelsShea lol they can't call everything right? but they ALWAYS call the best and most awesome action packed events I've seen since I began watching auto racing more than 20years ago. 10 and 24hr endurance races have to be fairly taxing and I give them praise for all that the commentators/pit lane reporters/production and all. No matter what race you watch, this radio team never fails to live up to IMSA's awesome coverage.
Shea Adam speaks fast and clearly, and she never misses a detail. John Hindhaugh is a little too much of a pitchman for my taste, but he is very observant (when he's watching the vid), and I love his Northern accent. Jeremy Shaw is the lovable old nerdy professor who knows everything, plus everything else, about racing, though sometimes it seems hard for him to get a word in. (As a team, you can't beat them unless you go back to Jim McKay, Jackie Stewart, and Chris Economaki in the pits.) IMO, their big problem is that they have no technical direction, or no crew running the sound board or the video switchers. They have their fiber optic repair techs, but no one is directing the program. Everything that was wrong with this broadcast (and others this season), that's what directors are supposed to do. I don't think they have a director. A more polished show would get their sponsors more hits. There's incentive :)
Another thing to remember is it's not just the 10 hour race they're commentating on. They're also done all the practice sessions and all the support races leading up to this so they have probably done about 10 hours of commentary before this race even starts. They do a fantastic job hats off to them.
I have never closed my eyes because I couldn't bear the suspense in a race, but omg... I couldn't watch. 4:54:00 in the video, 6 min 54 sec left in the race.
have to say i love john and jeremy - i was among the fans calling for them to return to IMSA - but they did a pretty poor job commentating this race. I lost count of the number of times i saw something significant happening on track that they were somehow oblivious to. i know they have a lot to pay attention to but is it too much to ask to keep an eye on the monitor (and study your spotters guide!)
Joe Acampora They’ve been god awful for a few seasons now, especially Hindhaugh. His voice is unbearable anymore. Thankfully the NBC team is actually pays attention to what’s going on and has a better sense of humor. Only annoying thing now is listening to Hindhaugh over the PA when you’re at the track.
Afwul calls robbed porsches #912 and #58 in the final hours of potential victories (as they were leading at the time of both calls) and likely strong finishes this had massive championship implications as well for both GTLM and GTD but what do I know I have to watch it days later on youtube. Series is becoming a joke
Thank you IMSA for posting this race entirely on UA-cam. Making racing accessible is the biggest thing that series struggle with.

Thanks IMSA for another great season. Really appreciate the uploads to UA-cam.

Thank you IMSA. Great season by all teams. Excited to see the C8.R make it debut.
WOW! A great race, a great season. Thank you IMSA!
Thanks for all the coverage throughout the year, and for this great race!
IMSA IS THE ABSOLUTE GREATEST!
What a finish

You're right and I think two huge factors were that it was just three classes racing and also the LMPs got to move ahead of GT cars before restarts

And scripted races are the worst
Me to myself - "wow the 71 car is flying, who's in it?" (Hindhaugh on cue mentions its Maxi Buhk) "Oh that's why"
2:38 hours to go... what a job by Corvette team!
They still won team championship.

Oh, i thought you were being sarcastic because they crashed.
haha no no! The speed they placed the car back to action was impressive!
That was absolutely amazing work
Best IMSA race in my opynion

These will continue if nbc really wants imsa covrage. Or were going to get the drivers cams which would get a little boring
NBC lets Indycar put their races on UA-cam, I don't think it will be different for IMSA

Great race
Curious why some taillights flicker in onboard cams? Notice it especially on the fords
Anthony Bastian I think it is how the cameras pick up the light, as I think they can only see it from certain angles.
Question, has there ever been a race in history where there was not accident or incident?
Yes, but not to many, I remember some from last year, and I heard that there was one this year

good riddins to FOX and their crap transmissions, hoping NBC do a much better job in covering all the IMSA series.
